Mega Man Vs Street Fighter - Dec 17 *free*

Oh would you look at that... Capcom doing something sorta cool for once! OH MY!!

Ok, this actually looks like a pretty fun game, and f'fucks sake it's free!!

Maybe they are gouging interest in the Megaman Brand? Trying to revitalize it?

Either way, we get ourselves a new Megaman game next week!! WOOT!

It's a fan-made game that Capcpom is distributing.

Capcpom ain't trying to revitalize shit.

Well, it's nice that they're promoting and distributing it for free instead of just completely killing it and rubbing it in everyone's faces, so that's a nice character shift for them, at the very least.

It looks pretty fun and, who knows, it might bring some interest back for Mega Man Universe because of the crossovery thing.

It's nice to see Capcom actually respecting the fans. They may not be making it but the fact that it's getting a free distribution is a huge plus for them considering they could have just shoot it down.

Besides Capcom USA actually cares about the blue bomber. We almost got an awesome MMX collection because of them. It got cock blocked by Capcom Japan and Inafune.

EDIT:

SO I was pretty much right. Capcom USA has always cared about the Blue Bomber (as a cash cow mind you). It seems the 3 years of darkness for MM was more due to Capcom having no idea what to do with the franchise.

It's some decient PR for them at least. And let's face it, they might need it.

Winning the fans over seems to be Capcom's current goal.

Making this game free is a start, but many fans still don't trust them.

Releasing the MML3 Prolouge is a good step but considering that MML has always had weak sales. It's not granteeed to turn a profit. It could very well end up being a loss on their part.

MMBN7 and MM11 are the best choices. Seeing as these series have sold pretty well. MMX9 would be nice but the MMX series is dead in the eyes of the fans and is likely to have amazing terrible sales.

I would personally like to see the Mega Man series traverse more towards the prologue of the X series. The chasm between the two series has always intrigued me, and The Day of Sigma did little to satisfy my desire to see just how the transition took place.

I remember when the plot of MM10 was first being leaked, and we thought that "robot virus spread by Wily" was, in fact, the prologue to X.

But nope, the Maverick virus was a different robot sickness created by Wily.

akaSM 12-09-2012 03:57 AM

If the Maverick (and a certain other virus) gets explained later, I hope it follows the (old) X stuff instead of the Day of Sigma stuff.
