Golden Sun was made in 2001 by Capcom and Nintendo. In Japan, it was called Ōgon no Taiyō Hirakareshi Fūin, literally, 'Golden Sun - The Broken Seal,' which gives you a pretty decent idea as to the plot. A million copies were sold.

Two years later, the much-awaited sequel was made, to the delight and eventual disappointment of fans everywhere. Recently, there have been rumors of a third game to finish the series, but personally? I'm a bit skeptical that it'll get done in this lifetime or if it'll hold true to the first two.

Anyway, to the heroes of the story! Hmm, but it wouldn't be a GOOD Let's Play if I didn't allow you all to name EVERYone. Let's see, what was that code again? Up up down down left- wait, wrong code. Okay, select, select, select...Bingo!

also, I vote default names for everyone to avoid confusion as well as me being a lazy bastard.

In classic tradition I vote we name them all the same and after the main villain.

Or we could name them all vague pronouns. The girl can be Him, the main can be They, earth guy is That, and pervert equals It. Only you can't use any caps.

Partially I want to do that just because of how confused Thadius would get trying to puzzle out the dialogue.

Earth guy: Isaac. It's my goddamn favourite name ever and it's because of this kid so yeah.
Fire kid: Firenze, I guess. Sounds flamey.
Psychic: Pierrot.
Water girl: Sex or something. I believe someone says "Sex has healing powers!" at one point, so yeah.

I have to admit, this was a very unique RPG for the GBA. I mean, the combat was pathetically easy, but the game was ALL about the elemental puzzles and that was just wicked.

For names I vote Issac, Firenze, Drugs, and girl named after the Villain.

I also pre-emptivly request you cut out a lot of the chatter in-game, because god that was the most annoying part. Would be more entertaining if you wrote it in yourself, somehow.

Okay, thanks for that Kerensky. As it turns out, there IS a limit to letters in names. The limit is five, so that means that Pyros, while your name suggestion of 'Firenze' is awesome, it sadly doesn't fit. I'm so sorry.

Mondt, I don't believe I was around when you did your LP, but I agree with Kerensky; you should have no problem passing the baton to me and killing the witnesses that saw you ever had it in the first place.

Also: Shota seems to be a popular name for the creepy little boy that we'll pick up probably two chapters down the road, and I'm liking the idea of the name 'Sex' for the heal-bot up in the frozen wastes. The main protagonist may end up with his original name unless someone comes up with something completely brilliant, and we need to rename Garet, because Pyros' idea won't work. It was a good idea, but it's two letters two big.

Also also: I can't name Sheba, Jenna, or Felix in this game. If I were playing the SEQUEL, I could, but sadly, such is not the case. So keep any ideas for those guys stored away.

I've figured out how I'm gonna make the screenshots smaller but still show detail - It'll be an okay compromise, I hope. Y'know, so that it doesn't take five minutes to load one page.

And if any other issues should come up, please leave your questions at the bottom of the large spike-filled pit. I'm done for the night. I'll start playing the game when we've settled on the names.

Huh. So you're right. Mmkay. So Sheba, Jenna, and Felix need new names if continuity is to be preserved. Ideas, anyone? Jenna wields flame powers (And is a stuck up little girl in my opinion) and Felix can also use earth powers (And is the next game's silent protagonist). Sheba is nobody's child and uses air powers.

I expect humor if I'm to go through the hassle of naming characters I can't even control yet.

I don't envy you. The main thing that killed my RP, and in fact probably killed most, is the uploading part. Finding a site to host, getting links for all the pics, etc.

WhenEVER I get around to doing that FFTA one, I'm just gonna start sticking my pic's together so that they form a "comic strip" of sorts, meaning I only have to host 1 pic worth 6 pics (or more), which will save my ass from over 1000 pictures the size of a GBA screen.

And the opening will be pure narrative.

Hey guys, give me a rough idea of how much chit-chat and storyline you'd like me to snip out.

Y'know, other than ALL of it. Cause otherwise there'd be no point.

Most obvious is dont go around pestering NPCs like Fighter confronted with a Cornerian guard. Also, try to pick out which segments of dialogue are obviously plot-important and which is just flavor text (hard to do, but you could easily summarize the flavor text with a snarky *snip* quote).

Keep in what's humorous (or what you can MAKE humorous) or important.

What's humorous or important? It's your LP.

Although I think I remember GS having repetitive dialogue, so it'd probably be helpful to cut some of that out. Then again, I haven't played the games in years.

I have been here for three years now. I have to keep reminding myself that although everyone around here calls me Fred, I am Thadius. It's not as easy as you may think.

I've been attempting to learn the magic of this land, 'Psynergy,' as they call it, but all I can do is give myself a migraine. I can't even use Move, but Beef said he'd try to learn that as well.

I do seem to have a green thumb, though. The coffee beans and weed that I salvaged as a kid have grown. I'm considering running my own coffee shop out of my home, along with selling weed on the black market. Hey, gotta make the money somehow.

The local scholar, Kraden, has been teaching me, Beef, and OMNOM the basics of Alchemy, Psynergy, the Elements...it's pretty interesting stuff, but I can't actually USE it. I just hope that one day I'll find a way to get back home.

Kraden's asked the three of us to go with him on a little trip up Mt. Aleph. Personally, I want nothing to do with the place, since it housed a boulder that killed 'Dad,' and OMNOM feels the same, I'm sure. However, Kraden has said that this trip could help him finish his lessons with us, and frankly, if I have to endure one more day of his voice, I'll tear my ears off. So tomorrow we scale the mountain.

I swear NPCs are ridiculously blase in this game. "Looks like (horrible event) is goin' down. Damn that's pretty weak." It doesn't matter if a loved one is in danger, a building is collapsing, or a whole town has been robbed. Everyone's just mildly upset about it. Garrr.

Also I love finding Djinn. They kick so much butt.

Yeah, the Djinn are all pretty great and optimal plushie material. I mean lukkit them, they're adorable! I used to draw them a lot back when I was bored in middle school. I thought their designs were really cool.

I am standing between Saturos, Menardi and my sister, while Kraden trails along. Jenna is staring at me, and not even bothering to check the road ahead of her, and I'm looking down at my feet. Menardi is snickering, elbowing Saturos in the ribs and pointing. Kraden is trying not to say anything.
