#1213: "Let's call that Plan Suck."

I don't know what Black Mage's problem is. They successfully heart attacked an earlier boss no problem.

Faythoffenrir 01-23-2010 12:24 AM

Color Spray shall defeat Chaos! I just have a feeling...

Red King 01-23-2010 12:48 AM

"You've cracked the code"

That has to be the best line I've ever read from these comics.

Rainbows are the bane of evil.

Hanuman 01-23-2010 01:58 AM

I get the feeling Brian has been playing BGII

Neni 01-23-2010 05:51 AM

I'm getting pretty suspicious that they actually WILL defeat Chaos.
Because, otherwise Brian wouldn't make such a huge deal (even huger than usually) out of them sucking.

TARDIS 01-23-2010 06:14 AM

lol. that's all I cna say.

Chaos is the final boss of the game/comic. I don't think heart attacks are going to work. Sure, that lame pun worked on Astos... but he's the THIRD boss of theg mae.

RPG mechanics will kick in.

Until they were de-levelled, I always had a feeling that Chaos would be beaten by a Goblin Punch...

But I don't see that happening now.

Gamer8585 01-23-2010 11:15 AM

Why do I have a feeling this is all going to end with everyone drinking juice and singing Kumbaya?

Warrioroflightfromanother 01-23-2010 02:54 PM

When are we going to see Dark Warriors? Or did they die when Temple of Fiends exploded? They were running away but who knows maybe they didn't make it in time. If they are alive I would to see what they do now when they have no home.

Bahamut could come back from doing it with Matoya, return their levels and weaken Chaos in a true FF style - MEGA FLARE!

I can picture it now:

Chaos is about to kill them all when Black Mage, ina last desperate attempt to save himself, kicks Chaos in the groin. Chaos' eyes cross and then h explodes.
Red Mage: Gasp! Yiu defeated Chaos with a Goblin Punch! But how did you manage it when develed and without Blue Magic?
Black Mage: I kicked him in the crotch you idiot.
Red Mage: Maybe anyone can learn Blue Magic without a class change! Quick, use the Goblin Punch on me!
Black Mage: ^_^ With pleasure.

The way that it's all going to end will be a way that nobody could have possibly anticipated.

In other words, Brian can change the master plan at will if he has to.

He could, but he won't. We've been told beore he doesn't change the plot because of us. Most we get is the comic disproving our theories.

Hell, how do we even know Chaos is the final enemy? For all we know there's a few more other things waiting in line behind him.

Zweibloom 01-24-2010 01:14 AM

There appears to be an inverse relationship between BM's power and his attempts at scathing wit.

Though his magic has been depowered, Black Mage's wit has actually increased.

monsooneth 01-24-2010 04:43 AM

I was thinking maybe White Mage's near death experience helps her to awaken as the physical manifestation of Order.

In other words: She'd be pulling an Aerith.

So she'll sit around being useless until the writers have backed themselves so far into the corner they need to pull something out of their asses?

Julford Hajime 01-24-2010 11:32 AM

Well, that DOES look to be about where we are, doesn't it? :P

King Steve, that horrible stupidity was just a ruse so he could carry out his evil plans in secret, Chaos himself was just a puppet fueling King Steve's plan.

King Steve will have not only domination of the world but of the cosmos, his rule shall pierce realms and the universe shall be his play thing. Oh Brian you cunning fox you tried to play us all along but I figured you out. Oh how I have figured you out

Veho 01-24-2010 03:17 PM

You know what I think will happen? The comic will end with a spaceship of highly intelligent reptile creatures from the other end of the star system arriving and laying waste to the entire planet, as retribution for the obliteration of their homeworld via a highly destructive beam of what turned out to be pure love they managed to trace back to Gurgu volcano.

See if it doesn't.

... Given that it's Brian we're talking about...

...yeah, probably. :D

See if it doesn't.

It was Gorgu volcano, with that old man. Not Gurgu, with Marilith.

They never claimed to be good at tracking.

See if it doesn't.

Let's call that Plan Suck.

Seriously, though, that's a very likely ending.

Domestibot 01-24-2010 11:24 PM

Considering just how "moral" the light warriors have been throughout the course of the story, if you think about it, Chaos is the hero here.

Observer 01-25-2010 12:50 AM

What? No he isn't. He's going to obliterate the entire world. If there's such a thing as an innocent person in the entire 8bit world, he's gonna kill them.

And I second the King Steve theory. He's been distributing the Stubes for sinister means. Chaos will be defeated, but then all the stubes across the world will open and absorb the dark power, broadcasting it across the globe for his fiendish ends..then Garland shall save the day by accidentally unplugging the Stube's main power generator..it's as likely as anything else.

Ti-Phil 01-25-2010 08:06 AM

Hmmm, it seems Red Mage's intelligence increased one point to see the insults... Maybe he will soon make a plan that works.

Grognor 01-25-2010 08:46 AM

That Red Mage is so clever! I thought Black Mage finally had him this time.

Oh, and I love the aliens ending Veho suggested.
