Pokémon Umbral Discussion 8: I'll Guard Her Voir! Wait, That Makes No Sense...

http://th05.deviantart.net/fs16/300W...manyuladic.jpg

I'll be posting somewhat later than usual (I have an undeniable urge to play video games right now). They changed my hours for tomorrow so I have a great amount of time both tonight and tomorrow morning, but I still intend to post tonight. We're kinda going to a weird scheduling phase starting right now and continuing for a few weeks so I can't be certain when I'll have the opportunity to post, but I promise to keep rolling out the updates as regularly as I always do.

Here's an apology photo...an apology photo that I'm having difficulty turning my eyes away from...

Geminex 04-01-2010 05:47 AM

Eh take your time. 1 late post=1 extra gardevoir pic is good for me.

What's matt planning on doing? Neither Castform, nor venomoth have anything horribly damaging.

Astral Harmony 04-01-2010 06:39 AM

The post is...oh, I guess maybe 4/5ths done? I'm having a little writer's block that I think a good rest will clear up.

EDIT: Okay, I'm going to finish up now that my head is clear. Hey, listen. Menarker gave me a general rundown of Renny's sidequest and I think the best time to fit it in is right after this mission. So get ready for some partyin' which will be a good time to PvP. Why PvP when the Arena Mission isn't terribly far? Because the Arena Mission is going to be 2-on-2. And you're going hate the people I pair y'all up with.

DanteFalcon 04-01-2010 03:38 PM

Matt intends to get a blood sample from a certain Ruin General.

Bard The 5th LW 04-01-2010 03:48 PM

Here are most of the relevant character sheets.

Slayers
Geminex (Ray Green:Impact)
Armored Bishoujo's NPC (Rayleen)

Trainers
Bard (Charlotte Beaufort: Madame Ursurang)
Menarker (Renny Tresserhorn)
Dracorion (Pierce Granger)

Pokebrids
DanteFalcon (Matthias Sona: Oberon)
Armored Bishoujo's NPC (Rachel McConnelly:Princess)

AB's Support NPC (Dormond Ferguson)Name: Dormond Ferguson
Alias: None
Age: 53
Gender: Male
Class: Pokébrid (Mawile)
Appearance: Imagine your standard butler. Grey hair, small mustache, gentlemanly stature and superb manners. Now imagine him with a giant set of jaws hanging from a fleshly black protrusion on the back of his head. He dyes his mustache black because the genes turned his hair black, and wears gloves to hide the fact that his hands are black as well.
Backstory / Personality: A butler serving in Rayleen's family for at least three generations, Dormond personally blames himself for Rayleen's suffering when her father and fiancé were killed. His relationship with Rayleen is deep and he considers himself her personal champion, protector of body and mind.

AB's Support NPC (Lola Phelps )Name: Lola Phelps
Alias: Queen of Hearts
Age: 23
Gender: Female
Class: Pokébrid (Lopunny)
Appearance: Lola is a bombshell in Nurse's whites. Strangely enough, her naturally pink hair has affected the Lopunny genes somewhat, turning the brown fur as pink as her hair. One would expect her to have other features, but do to adding hair removal in undesireable places as part of her personal care regimen, there are no tufts of furr on her wrists, eyebrows, or on the sides of her knees.
Backstory / Personality: Lola has been working as a trainee nurse for about five years, and as a registered nurse for less, but she's damn good at the job of healing others. One of the small disappointments in her life is that far too many people come to see her just to see her. Seriously, a stomacheache? Your leg fell asleep, that's all. I'm sorry, I don't see an open head wound. Yeeeeah. Lola wants to prove her potential by dealing with the worst injuries a man could ever suffer from without dying, yet for this professional, she may get bored quickly.

And also, upon further investigation, its actually quite possible that Charlotte and Pierce are from the same city. Not that I want a joint side-quest, just pointing it out.

Astral Harmony 04-01-2010 04:42 PM

So that's that. I'll make certain to select all + copy before I hit that button next time. You didn't miss too much except a lot of dialogue which you didn't really need. Shannon acted cocky, Harliette bitched and moaned, Lola acted without emotion. Pretty much the same shit that'll be in every post until Phantomere fucking dies, already.

Menarker 04-01-2010 04:49 PM

A shame that we missed out on the action. I'm sure that Storm of Statagmites was epic, and the woe and tradegy of the twins being killed in cowardly betrayal truly a disasterous occurence.

Well, guess I'll have to make do.

EDIT: Something odd in that post of yours...

BRICK BEAM!? WHAT THE HELL? *I'm assuming you meant Brick Break*

And in case anyone is wondering why I chosen that Lola bounce Breloom and not Heracross when they are both quad weak to flying moves... well that Megahorn is not something I want her to be coming down on if you get my drift.
*Looks forward to the inevitable bouncing boobs on the way down and landing.*

Astral Harmony 04-01-2010 07:52 PM

Brick Beam, eh? I could totally make that an attack.

Geminex 04-01-2010 11:07 PM

Rock type damage, special stat.
Charges of for one turn (Azumarril is collecting Masonary!), then hits with 120 power. 20% chance to make target flinch.
Also, dammit. Could Charlotte leave the Fortressa alone for now, and have Spitz use super fang on Omnisroth? I know she's posted already, but an edit would really come in handy.

Also also, let's hit the pokebrids first. They haven't paradigm shifted yet, and it'd be good to prevent that if possible. So, yeah. They must die.

Bard The 5th LW 04-01-2010 11:16 PM

I don't think I can interact with the Omnisroth. Other side of the field, remember? I can't interact with Team 1, neither can Renny nor the support NPCs. Or have they joined together all of a sudden?

Dracorion 04-01-2010 11:34 PM

Nope. The obstacle separating the teams was removed.

Bah, it's going to take forever to muddle through each pokemon's weaknesses to figure out who to hit. Also, I would like to reiterate that Phantomere is a goddamn bastard and I fucking hate him.

Anyway, I've decided that Aria can talk, for the added hilarity. That is, of course, if AB okays a talking pokemon. I mean, if a stupid, lousy feline like Meowth can learn to talk, why can't a humanoid like Nagarai?

Also, I forgot to mention in my last post that Kingdra consumes the White Herb she's carrying to negate Draco Meteor's Special Attack decrease.

Menarker 04-02-2010 12:40 AM

Many of the pokemons with dual types have quad weaknesses (Hence my choice on whom I targeted). The faster we take them out, the less hits we take from all of them total. You can get Omnisroth put to sleep again if it's such a big pain. :3

Some pokemons are capable of telepathy so this may be a factor with communication. (Shaymin included.)

Geminex 04-02-2010 12:51 AM

Nah, I'd like to kill it outright. Cause, see, sleep powder has a 75% chance of hitting. This means that Matt might not hit.
And unless I'm mistaken, Omnisroth could, in this case, use his hit-all-targets attack. Which has a power of, like, 140. And I'd assume that the fucker's attack stat is astronomical. So yeah, I'd like to kill it quickly. I'll have Chizuru taunt Ruin types this turn, that'll stop interference from them while we reduce the trainer's numbers, but I think that the thing that could potentially OHKO our entire party with one attack (or, at least, those elements of it that don't have multiple pokemon) should be something of a priority. Go ahead with your quadruple-damage attacks, but spare one of Charlotte's pokemon. Hmm?

DanteFalcon 04-02-2010 03:40 AM

Erm. Neither Venomoth nor Castform learns Screech.

Astral Harmony 04-02-2010 07:21 AM

Yeah, you can have the Nagarai talk. The Rogue Pokémon group Pokégeddon from the omakes (I'll post the next one after work tomorrow, promise) are actually a bizarre class called Pokésapiens. This is basically the vice versa of the Pokébrid in which a Pokémon is spliced with human DNA. This doesn't really give them any special combat bonuses, but rather Pokésapiens enjoy things they normally wouldn't have access to, like a Gardevoir having breasts or a Rapidash that can talk. Gotta love the miracles of science.

Anyways, I got home from work pretty late so I'm just going to play some FFXIII until I can't stay awake anymore. I've got work pretty early in the morning tomorrow and once I'm done with that, I'll have your post and your omake. So please just bear with me, my supervisors have gone fuckin' bonkers over this latest inspection.

Just glanced at the posts in the RP thread. Renny dating Whitney was a joke. Believe me, it's for your own good. Whitney was a raving hysteric loyal only to her brother Wyatt and to her master Faynoc. Plus she had a brother complex. Yep, she's that kind of girl. Wyatt was the same. Blood-related or no, they were totally into each other and nobody was going to come between them.

Bard The 5th LW 04-02-2010 04:15 PM

Hmm... I suppose I can edit things to have Charlotte use Spitz rather than Buck. Spitz is really on the team mostly just because he knows Super Fang, and I don't want to have a Raticate.

They can learn it by breeding. That gives you access to it, doesn't it?

Ex-xxxxcellent...
I hope Renny doesn't mind too much, but cutting the Boss' health by half should be slightly more important than a forretress.

Menarker 04-02-2010 08:58 PM

Well, technically, Renny advised that Arcanine would be a perfect choice against Forretress, but he is wary enough not to be actually commanding Charlotte. :3

You said that Pierce would be the one dating her, not Renny. But yeah.

Dracorion 04-02-2010 09:05 PM

Pierce isn't without compassion. He'll try to figure out a way to save the Pokebrids and their pokemon. If he succeeds there'll be plenty of chances for him to date a hot Gardevoir whose limbs aren't falling off. Who knows, he might be willing to share with Wyatt.

Also, which Ruin General did that Kimonos kill before? I bet it's the Normal Ruin General because AB's a jerk.

Astral Harmony 04-03-2010 05:25 AM

Actually, the Kimonos didn't bag a Ruin General. They fought it, but it was pretty early in their experience fighting Ruin Pokémon and despite the difficulty, the Kimonos still pulled through. The Ruin General was smart enough to flee.

Phantomere won't be such a chicken, so hunt that bitch down.

I'll get to posting now. Wow, it's only 8:10 at night right now. I thought it'd be later since I did take the time to walk to the big store and pick up some anime and games. Glory of Heracles, the 1st Season box set of Strike Witches, the 2nd Season 2nd box set of Sgt Frog, part one of season two of The Mightiest Disciple Kenichi, part two of Soul Eater, Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition, Resonance of Fate, Metro 2033 (I fuckin' love survival horror 1st person shooters), and Torchlight. Sometimes it's good to be a consumer whore.

EDIT: Now I've reread Menarker's post. Still, Whitney would not have been a fun time. But there is another sexy Gardevoir out there, and if we're not going to have an epilogue adventure...

Geminex 04-03-2010 05:37 AM

Capitalism wheeeeee!

Anyway, DanteFalcon's online so he should be posting soon. I'm hoping he'll screech, but it's up to him.

DanteFalcon 04-03-2010 05:54 AM

I have the general idea of the post. Just not forming itself well. Matt doesn't really want to use screech but this would be a really stupid thing to be insubordinate over.

Geminex 04-03-2010 06:07 AM

Omnisroth's already at less than half health, courtesy of super fang. If Matt screeches, and Chizuru uses beatdown next turn, Omnisroth's defense'll be down by 4 stages. If Matt can screech again, Renny can spare Lola for a helping hand, Impact uses his stamina boost and AB's in a good mood, I'm hoping for an OHKO.

DanteFalcon 04-03-2010 06:21 AM

I understand the strategy behind it. I personally just dislike moves like screech most of the time. In most cases spending the turns necessary to make that move worthwhile can be better spent laying the smackdown on whatever you wanted dead.

That and I would probably have preferred say Roost. To prevent Phantomere from sneaking up on Matt and going "OH HAI THAR DIE PLZ". And OHKOing him from his somewhat weakened state.

Geminex 04-03-2010 06:27 AM

Didn't he use a full restore?

And fair enough, four stages of decrease stages probably be enough. Roost should be fine, if you survive that long.

Astral Harmony 04-03-2010 06:49 AM

Here's some helpful information that is better late than never:

Tsubasa Hirasaka (White Kimono)

- Cerbraptor (Dark/Fire Legendary)
Moves: Twilight Purge / Dark Pulse / Fire Blast / Gunk Shot
Ability: Super Luck
Item: Crimson Collars

Twilight Purge: 140 power, 90 accuracy. 30% of lowering special attack level by 2.
Crimson Collars: A large three-piece set of spiked collars worn around Cerbraptor's huge necks with heavy lengths of chains holding them together. Boosts the power of Dark and Fire-type moves. Can only be held by Cerbraptor.

Chizuru Suzuki (Black Kimono)

- Giratina (Origin Forme) (Ghost/Dragon Legendary)
Moves: Shadow Force / Shadow Claw / Dragon Claw / Aura Sphere
Ability: Levitate
Item: Griseous Orb

That oughta help Renny and Impact choose commands for the Kimono's Pokémon as well as the Kimonos themselves.

I'm almost halfway through the post. Don't worry, I'm hard at work.

EDIT: The tactics are on the table for everyone to see. Phantomere has two actions per turn. One is usually always going to be an attack of some sort. The other will be to turn invisible again, or to reanimate slain zombies if there are three or more. He will reanimate twice if there are six or more corpses. It shouldn't be difficult to keep that up, but Phantomere will still absorb a lot of punishment before succumbing to your efforts. One more thing. Don't expect certain moves (like Super Fang) to work. Phantomere won't be an easy kill by any means.

Menarker 04-03-2010 10:29 AM

... Does deathclock actually KILLS the person in question? I kinda doubt that Phantomere would intentionally try to half-ass a Doom spell.

Poor Impact and Tsubasa. :3

Does moves that removes status afflictions like Heal Bell help out?

Dracorion 04-03-2010 10:45 AM

Gawd, Pierce is such a bastard, making Metagross explode again.

Also, did Rachel ever heal Chizuru after she got gangbanged (heh) before?

Menarker 04-03-2010 11:20 AM

Can I get the move list for Shannon's pokemon? I can't seem to find it since it's buried somewhere in the ton of threads we got. :3

EDIT: ... Is Tsubasa's Wire Prison attack that I just requested last turn going to effect our ability to attack Phantomere?

Dracorion 04-03-2010 12:54 PM

Psst. Menarker, you probably also want to down the Hippowdon.

AB, you're probably going to want to have Chizuru dissappear immediately at the end of every mission from now until forever, because Pierce will ask her out if he gets a chance. Unless you don't mind getting a romantic subplot (which would just be a few dates, Aria being jealous, perhaps Aria making an attempt on Chizuru's life, Pierce freaking out about the relationship once or twice, and the drama from mission 7) mixed in with your main plot.

And if it turns out Heal Bell or whatever removes the deathclock, you're probably going to want to keep them on the pokemon for the sheer awesomeness of three Testament Drives directed at Phantomere.

Geminex 04-03-2010 07:00 PM

Quote:

Alright, in that case, I suggest we knock out the Ruin pokemon first!
...
You suggest? You? As opposed to the guy who was telling you to kill all ruin pokemon a turn ago, because you were too stingy to give up a friggin' fire blast, instead telling me to put an Omnisroth to sleep if I wanted to stop it from killing our entire party? You suggest? Very nice. Wonderful.

Also, stop making stuff sound like it was your idea!
Quote:

Matthias use of Screech boosts its effective power by quite a bit since Outrage is phsyical.
This. I told him to do that. I did the research to see if he could decrease Omnisroth's stats. My effort! All mine! *hisses*
Ok, and maybe Matt's too, what with all the "actually using the move", but whatever!

Childishness aside, can we kill Phantomere within the next two turns? I'd prefer Impact not dying. Though if we do die, then Phantomere would eat another testament drive. If we weaken Phantomere enough by then, then that should hopefully be enough to finish him off.

Anyway. Posting soon.

Astral Harmony 04-03-2010 08:45 PM

Well, since Pokémon is supposed to be a kids show that adults who like Pokémon could probably enjoy as well, Deathclock won't kill you but will send you to the Shadow Realm. Oh, joy, I'm channeling Yu-Gi-Oh here. Deathclock cannot be removed by status curing moves or abilities. The unfortunate victims will have to press on despite the countdown and then hope they're revived so they can continue the fight.

Support characters like Rachel and Lola will prioritize reviving characters that can only fight for themselves (AKA characters don't have Pokémon like Impact, Matthias and Lola) and characters that have very few Pokémon remaining (three or less). Take that into consideration when battles get kind of taxing.

Chizuru was healed and is in good shape. Forgot to mention that before.

Phantomere is going to take a lot of punishment before going down. Once he goes, you can count on the zombies to drop it like it's hot as well. But finishing it off before the deathclock reaches zero will be very difficult. Still, Rachel will most likely revive you on the same turn you get taken out since you're all you've got.

Oh, and here's the third (or rather fourth) adventure of Pokégeddon!

Pokégeddon Legends! ...I ain't that baby's momma!

Gardevoir: "So, where's the best place for me to go and learn comedy?"
Seaking: "Fuck yeah, up your ass!"
Gardevoir: "...Yeah. I'll get right on that, Seaking."
Regina: "So, uhhh...kind of a personal question here."
Lopunny: "Shoot."
Rapidash: "Oh, jus' cause I'm a black Rapidash, you think I got a gat, now?"
Lopunny: "Nobody's talking to you, Rapidash!"
Rapidash: "Bitches talk to me. All the time. In fact I got so many bitches that I can't talk to them all. Got 'em all up in my Facebook 'n' shit."
Lopunny: "Forgive Rappy, Regina. He tends to go off on tangents on occasion. So what's this question?"
Regina: "Well, uhhh...would any of you happen to be a parent?"
Lopunny: "Ummm...what?"
Gardevoir: "My Gardevoir Sense is tingling. Lemme guess, you think we're the parents of your Pokémon?"
Regina: "Not necessarily. I was just kinda hoping against hope."
Gardevoir: "Well, I can understand. After all, look at us and look at Regina's Pokémon lineup. Here we have me, a Gardevoir. Then there's Lopunny."
Lopunny: "Hiya."
Gardevoir: "Seaking."
Seaking: "Fuck yeah, Seaking!"
Gardevoir: "Rapidash."
Rapidash: "Word to ya momma."
Gardevoir: "And doing stuff on their own at least for now, Froslass and Altaria."
Altaria: "Actually, I'm here now, too."
Lopunny: "Buh!? When'd you get here?"
Altaria: "I've been here for a good while. I was in the crowd when you put on the lulz at the Contest Hall."
Lopunny: "Well...that's humiliating."
Altaria: "You weren't all that bad, actually."
Lopunny: "Somehow that doesn't make me feel better, Alta."
Gardevoir: "And then you have Regina's lineup. Ralts, Buneary, Goldeen, Ponyta, Snorunt and Swablu. One could chalk it as coincidence with just one or two matches, but when all six are the unevolved versions of all six of us, coincidence is more or less kicked squarely in the juicy and danglies."
Lopunny: "The juicy and danglies?"
Gardevoir: "So let me guess. That's what your journey is really all about, isn't it, Regina?"
Regina: "You've certainly got it all figured out, Gardevoir. Truth be told, I'm really tired of losing all the random Pokémon battles against all the trainers I encounter, but I'd feel like a total bitch if I just put 'em in the computer and left them there forever."
Lopunny: "Can't imagine why that matters. I mean, just think about it. How many millions of relatively low-level Raticates and Linoones and other Pokémon are in the PC storage system as we speak? Sure, flesh out your Pokédex or whatever, but those assholes just leave the Pokémon in there for months, even years! Fuckin' release 'em already, y'know?"
Gardevoir: "That's an important point. And since we used to belong to trainers, any one of us could be in the same situation. Maybe I should be happy I had the kind of trainer that I did."
Regina: "Oh, really? What kind of trainer did you have?"
Gardevoir: "He was a horndog. I didn't become a Pokésapien by choice. He put me through it because he wanted a curvaceous, busty Gardevoir who could talk dirty to him and dress in revealing cosplay and perform degrading sexual acts. The worst part about it was that everyone who knew him and me kept calling me 'Gardewhore'."
Regina: "...I guess it takes all kinds, huh?"
Gardevoir: "Eventually, he got tired of me and when he somehow won the lottery, he spends all his days in this or that sexshop selling Pokésapien fantasies. I think he still does that shit even today. So, to put it bluntly, he abandoned me. It's been a year. I still hate the douchebag, but I kind of wonder what he's doing or if he even thinks of me anymore."
Lopunny: "Heh. I guess I'm the same. I think about my former master sometimes and wonder how her marriage is going."
Regina: "It's difficult for Pokémon of any kind of forget about or hate their masters, huh."
Gardevoir: "Hmmm...I guess that's given us quite a large list of things for us to do."
Altaria: "Large list?"
Lopunny: "Gardevoir wants to learn comedy."
Regina: "I want to return these young Pokémon to their parents."
Rapidash: "Aw, man, we gotta go see mastah? Well, I guess it couldn't hurt."
Seaking: "Fuck yeah, free Pokémon!"
Altaria: "Learn comedy, return Pokémon children to their families, go and see how our old masters are doing, and destroy the Pokémon Storage PC System."
Regina: "Isn't that last one kinda dangerous?"
Altaria: "Actually, the second one could be pretty dangerous, too."
Seaking: "Fuck yeah, smash it all!"
Gardevoir: "Usually I sort of ignore Seaking-"
Seaking: "Fuck yeah, love me!"
Gardevoir: "But now that I think on it, I really want to destroy that system and free all of the Pokémon that have been sitting in there forever."
Lopunny: "Hey, we actually have life goals in mind now!"
Gardevoir: "And all it took was a worthless green-haired Pokémon trainer to help us figure it all out."
Regina: "Hey, what's wrong with green hair?"
Altaria: "We should reunite with Froslass before we do the more dangerous stuff."
Lopunny: "Where is Frossy?"
Altaria: "Well, Froslass loves children so she might be at a school or a daycare center or something."
Gardevoir: "So long as she stays in a relatively small area as she usually does, we'll find her before we get in over our heads. Pokégeddon, roll out!"

Cast of Pokégeddon (for those who like reading stuff)

Gardevoir: Captured by Pokémon Trainer Larken when she was still an up-and-coming Kirlia. Larken helped her evolve into a Gardevoir and maximized her friendship with him so that he could convince her to do things she wouldn't ordinarily do. Like become a Pokésapien to give her the endowments of beautiful human females and a sexy voice for dirty talking. Larken then more or less made Gardevoir a sex slave with experience in numerous sexual acts, house chores like cooking and laundry, and striptease and posing in various costumes. Gardevoir was eventually abandoned when Larken won the lottery and went off to have his perverse desires answered by Pokésapien prostitutes. This was roughly one year ago. Unable to take the verbal abuse of people who knew about the things she did out of her love for Larken, Gardevoir left the metropolis for the wilds.

Lopunny: Lopunny was the starter Pokémon (she was a Buneary at this point in time) of Pokémon Trainer Varnillia. Because Varnillia was a kind and loving trainer, it didn't take long for Lopunny to evolve. Varnillia loved contests more than battling, and Lopunny, out of love for her trainer, saved up money fighting trainers and used this money to purchase DNA splicing, making her one of the drop-dead sexiest Lopunny Pokésapiens you'd find anywhere. Despite how much this helped Lopunny win contests for Varnillia, rumors started to circulate that their relationship was something deeper than trainer and Pokémon. Varnillia ended up marrying her childhood friend, but Lopunny believes that part of the reason was that Varnillia didn't like rumors of her being a closet lesbian circulating around. Lopunny blames herself for this, and with Varnillia's permission, left to eke out her own destiny. She knew she wasn't welcome anymore. She feels a kinship in Gardevoir, since their DNA splicing lead to relatively similar incidents.

Rapidash: Rapidash is a pretty rare Pokémon, having a shiny black coat with orange flames which makes him look like a beast out of hell, though he has such sincere beautiful blue eyes. Rapidash was owned by a female pimp named Rosetta, who used Rapidash to escort prostitutes of both human and Pokésapien nature all over town to earn the best money. His Pokésapien operation gave Rapidash the ability to speak and think like a human. Rapidash was occasionally also used as a getaway vehicle when things went to shit. Rosetta's lifestyle and personality rubbed off on Rapidash. When the police were starting to crack down on Rosetta's organization, Rosetta feared for Rapidash's safety and released him to the wilds, advising him it was for his own good. Rapidash really wants to return to his mistress, but thinks that he may just invite trouble unto her if he ever returned.

Seaking: Seaking was the starter Pokémon as a Goldeen to a very young Pokémon trainer named Erika. Neither really cared for Pokémon training, instead basing their relationship around friendship. Thinking that human DNA splicing might help them become better friends, Erika's parents got Goldeen the operation that gave him the ability to speak and reason like a human, just like Rapidash. Then the expletives came. Fearing that her disturbed parents would try to sell or trade Goldeen away, Erika took Goldeen and ran away from home. They started actually doing Pokémon training just to get from day to day. Goldeen became Seaking in rapid time. But their journey couldn't last forever. Eventually the police found Erika. Not wanting to have to lose Seaking forever, Erika released Seaking and promised to return for him the very moment that she could leave home forever. Seaking waits for that day. Incidentally, the DNA splicing actually did bring the two closer together. Erika really loved the way Seaking said the F-word, which is probably why Seaking says it all the time.

Altaria: As a Swablu, Altaria was the starter Pokémon of a trainer named Celissa. Celissa was a quiet, introverted girl with glasses who spent more time in libraries than at home. Wishing to draw her out of her shell, Celissa's parents got Swablu the operation. Swablu gained the ability to speak and reason like a human, again just like Rapidash and Seaking. Celissa and Swablu became great friends after that and like Celissa, Swablu became an intellectual and reserved Pokémon. One thing Swablu observed about Celissa is that Celissa loved romance novels. So, one fateful night, Swablu managed to write a letter to Celissa and left it with Celissa's teacher at school. What did the letter say? Swablu was off to find the perfect boyfriend for Celissa so she could actually experience the kind of romance she read in those softcore adult novels. Swablu fought by herself, gained levels by herself, and even evolved by herself. To this day, she's still seeking the perfect guy for her beloved master.

Froslass: As a Snorunt, Froslass was the starter of a Pokémon trainer named Deborah. Deborah is currently deceased from natural causes. Deborah and Froslass had the lifelong relationship of mutual guardianship, and Froslass has carried this protector-like nature with her ever since. Froslass used a small chunk of the inheritance to afford her own operation, which gave her a beautiful body along with human reasoning. She learned to speak the human tongue on her own. Froslass still resides at her master's old residence, which is now inhabited by a loving family who know about her and don't mind her presense since Froslass is so kind towards children and other helpless beings. Froslass hates injustice more than any other member of Pokégeddon, and strives to make the world a better place, one battle at a time.

Regina: A young, inexperienced, and most importantly unauthorized trainer in Honmyr. Regina never really cared for Pokémon training, and still doesn't. Her mindset of Pokémon training changed when she encountered her first Pokémon, a badly wounded Ralts. She saved its life by finding a random Pokéball lost in the nearby grass and capturing it. Because she wasn't an authorized trainer, Regina had to buy and use items from the Pokémart instead of utilizing the free services at the Pokémon Center. Time and time again, Regina had other encounters like that and now has a full lineup of six Pokémon. Her greatest desire is to return these six Pokémon to their homes and families. She tries to find ways to make lots of money quick and easily since she cannot use Pokémon Centers to heal her Pokémon.

Also, stop making stuff sound like it was your idea!

I know you were the one who suggested the idea first out of character, but in character, I was the one smart enough to do so first. :3

^^ Fun playing around with in-character/out-character incongruity.

Dracorion 04-04-2010 01:05 AM

I wanted to point that out, but I would never be able to get clear of the blast from Gem's head exploding if I did.

Glad you're taking the hit for me, though.

Geminex 04-04-2010 04:47 AM

Eh. You'll have to try harder than that to make my head explode. A character's actions reflect directly on the player, since any decisions regarding rank or some such (which is the only place where "It was MY idea!" actually comes in) are made with full knowlege of both IC and OOC behavior.

And besides, even if he didn't yell about killing the Ruin types first, his actions and thoughts indicate that it was, in fact, my fucking idea.

In short, screw character/non-character incongruity, my idea. The fact that you had your character verbally express my idea means nothing.

TL;DR:
MY IDEAAAAAAA

Anyway, never mind that.
I've come up with one more possibly fun idea. Ruin types have syncstrikes, Kimonos have signature sequences. Just trainers don't have anything. I'm thinking of giving them something.
Namely, the ability to combine various pokemon's attacks to produce even more powerful attacks.
Not everything, of course. Just stuff that's thematically appropriate. Say, if one pokemon used leech seed and the other used ember, then that could result in a single "badly burned" status, which'd be like burned, only with "toxic" damage progression (because, y'know, leech seed sends roots through the target's body, and ember sets those on fire, and then you've got VEINS OF FIRE running through your body). Or, say, if one pokemon uses focus energy and the other uses slash, then that could result in focus slash, an 80 damage attack that always gets critical hits. The other two effects wouldn't come into effect, but you'd have one powerful combined attack.

I'm not sure what I'd call the technique, but it might be cool, yes? Particularly because, with what I'm envisioning, we'd be left to experiment for ourselves, find the best combined attacks. We can just mention in our posts that we want to combine attacks (if we don't both agree, they'll just occur normally), and AB can evaluate the results, see if what we've proposed is awesome or creative enough. He'd then have to come up with the actual effect of the attack, but we can make suggestions regarding that as well.

I wouldn't mind too much if it isn't implemented (after all, Slayers don't , but it might encourage some more creativity and teamwork (as if we don't have enough of that already), and it'd be totally fucking sweet. Besides, it'd give the entire thing a little more realism.

And yes, I'm talking about adding realism to the adventure where a crowd of absurdly powerful misfits enslave supernatural beasts to their will in an effort to battle other, evil supernatural beasts and are currently fighting an evil supernatural beast ghost who's making mindless, undead slaves out of other supernatural beasts in an effort to kill us and succeed in his plan to find a totally normal human with the ability to command huge hordes of evil supernatural fucking beasts.

Anyway, consider it?

Astral Harmony 04-04-2010 05:20 AM

So Impact is adding realism by creating attack sequences for Pokémon while Pierce is taking away realism by wanting me to resurrect a zombie Pokébrid as a living Pokébrid, just because she's hot?

Eh, I can deal in both situations. Gawd, by the time the beach mission is over, you'll feel the estrogen in the agency the moment you walk through the door. And every morning you'll hear Pierce singing Mambo Number 5.

Pierce: "A little bit of Whitney in my life,
A little bit of Rayleen by my side.
A little bit of Shannon is all I need,
A little bit of Lola is all I see.
A little bit of Evangaleen in the sun,
A little bit of Harliette all night long.
A little bit of Chizuru, here I am,
A little bit of Tyranitar makes me yo' man! ...What!? Wait a damn minute!"

Armored Bishoujo: "Goodnight, everybody!"
Pierce: "Come back here, you bitch!"

Geminex 04-04-2010 05:56 AM

Indeed.

Though really, I'd advise against un-zombifying Whitney. Rotting slowly and being entirely without human emotion would give her so much in common with Pierce. Besides, if she has free will, why the hell'd she date him?

And before Drac gets pissed at me for writing this, let me give you a sample of the alternative.Tyranitar used Giga Impact!
Tryanitar used Hyper beam!
Pierce used Swallow!

Menarker 04-04-2010 09:45 AM

Well, incongruity means everything. :3 I'm roleplaying a lawful good love freak in a way while my real self is closer to chaotic evil magnificent bastard with ranks in craft disturbing mental image and manipulation. Yes your ideas, but if you get suprised or upset because you didn't think of typing that claim, then it's too bad. MY WIN! ^^ But of course, they are your ideas, no question about that. In character though, even if Impact was thinking of it first, anyone who was listening to orders would admit that Renny was the one who "came up with the idea first" since he was the first to vocalize it and make it known to everyone else.

Well, I already thought of combing attacks with pokemon. My personal fave being with Butterfree using its wings like solar panels, and then releasing the energy via solarbeam while flapping its wings powerfully via whirlwind for a destructive AOE effect.

Anyhow, I think something like that is bound to get out of hand as we'll keep trying to one-up each other and come up with more moves than Pokebrids have available. I mean basic stuff like combining water like surf with ice beam to encase someone in ice or make ice terrain? Seems pretty basic. But the above example makes it seem like leech seed should have just burnt right off.

And Pierce totally isn't getting a harem. : o Leave some for the rest of us! (Has a soft spot for Lola for sure atm)

Dracorion 04-04-2010 12:46 PM

Okay, before I insult all of you, I'd like to defend Pierce by saying that the whole harem thing was my idea. Really, can you blame me? I mean, damn. But Pierce does have a little bit of a crush on Chizuru, which is why I warned AB.

No, Pierce does not have the hots for Whitney, he's just secretly a nice guy. (psst, don't tell anyone) And he's far from emotionless and rotting. He just seems that way because he's hidding just how much of a softie he really is.

And anyway, Pierce totally isn't into the pokeymanz. It's why he doesn't get with Aria. Not to mention, the only guy for Tyranitar is Blaziken. I'm very, very tempted to make their gay thing canon.

Yeah... It'll happen during the beach mission. Tyranitar and Blaziken go behind a cliff, Pierce assumes to spar. I mean, what else could they be doing?

To top it off, I present THIS!

*Renny is Fighter, Pierce Is Black Mage, Geminex is Thief. Matthias is busy being a monster (both as a pokebrid and Red Mage and isn't in this script)*

Astral Harmony 04-04-2010 02:09 PM

To begin, I'll thank Renny for posting that link to that comic. To be honest, I haven't read 8-bit in years and that's very near the point where I stopped reading.

Secondly, Whitney's resurrection and being an addition to Pierce's imaginary harem is, as I think about it, more and more possible. After all, there's Tsubasa who is a demon that could help make it work. And there are some potent story elements that could change Whitney's personality into something much more agreeable even before she joins.

Now I'm going to work. I'll post as soon as I get home.

Ah, I see how you think. Yes, your point is well-made.

Though once again: There really aren't many situations in which Renny would benefit from claiming "my idea!". I mean, sure, he could take credit for our victory. Highlight his fitness as the team's leader, as opposed to Impact or Pierce. Even try to impress girls with it. You could have Renny do all those things, and they'd be perfectly justified and beneficial to him. Well done Renny.

Of course, Impact knows that it was his idea. And I know that it was my idea. And we tend to bear grudges.

You would be so fucking dead. :D

And besides, once again, even if he didn't yell about attacking Ruin pokemon, he actually attack the Ruin types, while Renny was still exploiting Kabuto's Dual-Type. Renny has no foot to stand on. Possibly literally.

AND NOW LET US STOP TALKING ABOUT THIS IT IS NO LONGER AMUSING. Though I'd be severely disappointed if one of you didn't pipe up right about now, going "I beg to differ. :J"

And enjoy your silly harem antics while you still can. My demonic powers are gonna be all about mind control. And everyone knows, if there's one good way to get a harem, it's mind control.

And I usually prefer to identify myself with BM, but Thief is acceptable. What with all the hidden agendas and ambitions of leadership and being heir to a nation of elves. What? Impact totally is. Just forgot to mention it in my bio.

Dracorion 04-04-2010 06:50 PM

I beg to differ.

AB wouldn't let you have full-on mind control. Probably subtle manipulation of one person at a time. Or perhaps mild mind control (as in can be shaken off with enough effort, as in make the person do something that is completely against everything they believe in), again only one person at a time. So you could get ONE girl for your harem and the minute you got knocked out or distracted she would snap out of it and kick you in the balls.

... What? You thought I was going to argue about the idea thingy? Hell no, that got boring fast.

Geminex 04-04-2010 08:12 PM

What good would it do to have control over just one person? No, I'm aiming for full-on, speak-to-the-crowds, lead-a-people-to-war kind of mind control. And how would that be too powerful? This'll be my second upgrade. I'd remind you that the red kimono has an attack that instakills anything.

Admittedly, I don't want full and total domination, like what Mika has. I'm far more interested in subtle manipulation. Y'know? I can't make them do what I want, but I can make them far more likely to agree with me, to see things my way, to release all their pokemon and turn all their resources towards making glorious advances for the good of all mankind.

And since I'm almost certain that that won't be enough to assuage you, let me give you a better outline.

The jump from half-demon to full demon, would be pretty much like the jump from human to half-demon. Fairly high increase in power, access to more signature techniques. The "mind control" thing would manifest itself passively, but not too strongly. He'd just be a lot more persuasive, a lot harder to ignore. He'd agree not to use it on the rest of the team, of course. Or so he'll say. His signature techniques would be mind-control related as well. Possibly one technique would let him do what I described above, let him exert influence on a mind, but not control it. The effect could be focused on a single target, or spread amongst several targets, his choice. It wouldn't weaken, the individuals would still hold the opinion after a year, or ten years, but changing the target's mind would be possible through simple everyday means. Discussion, persuasion, experience. Depending on the amount of targets, the targets will be affected more or less strongly, though with what I'm planning, using it on multiple targets will have a greater cumulative affect than a single target. In combat the effect'd be similar, only instead of political persuasion, it'd simply cast doubt on the opponent's reason for fighting. If he used it on Charlotte's pokemon, they'd be left wondering why they so fear their master. The effect would be unwillingness to fight, weaker attacks, outright refusal. Depending on strength of effect and of target.

So, no, I probably couldn't create a harem of mind-slaves, though I could, to some degree, make whichever female I have my eye on attracted to me. Though I'm thinking of adding a limitation whereby, while it's not possible to dispel it normally (like I said, you'd need actual persuasion), but certain pokemon and other demonic individuals and tell if the power's been used on someone. So even if I were to enchant one team member, the rest'd know.

I don't think that's in any way too powerful.

Dracorion 04-04-2010 08:47 PM

That'd be pretty cool, actually.

Although I'm not sure pokemon and demons should be able to sense if you used it on someone. It'd be a lot more fun if no one knew whether or not someone else was under Impact's control. We wouldn't know who to trust. Everyone would be wondering "am I saying that, or is Impact making me say it? Is Renny saying that? I DON'T KNOW I DON'T KNOW"

I can't see you complaining. It would keep the rest of the characters from ganging up on Impact.

And perhaps provide an opportunity for Pierce to punch Impact in the face.

You can go ahead and try, she'll teach them again a moment later.

And now I have the idea in my head of Impact attempting to influence Charlotte. That kind of thing would probably end with Charlotte flipping the fuck out and having a random pokemon (a.k.a murder-beasts) attempt to rip him apart. It wouldn't be hard, they all got sharp teeth and claws.

It would be an interesting conflict, but not one that sounds fun to go into, considering that me saying it has already given Drac ideas, and pre-emptively forced me to avoid reading this thread for the next two days at least. A more interesting version is attempting to influence Matt, who is apparently manipulative himself. Seriously, what the hell the are Matt's motives. We will have to pull a good-cop/bad-cop situation on him.

Dracorion 04-04-2010 08:55 PM

Good cop/bad cop?

I'd suggest a bad cop/batshit murdeous cop/good cop who doesn't give a crap kind of situation.

And I figured the possibility of an ImpactxCharlotte hookup was already known. Oh well, I'll figure out the details and post them later for your entertainment.

Geminex 04-04-2010 09:13 PM

We do, actually. But we need a good opportunity to do so.

Considering Charlotte is on the non-hurting side of hardcore S&M? There's a lot of harm.

Geminex 04-04-2010 09:52 PM

Look, all I want is someone who'll unquestioningly rip my enemy's throats out. Is that so wrong?

Menarker 04-04-2010 10:02 PM

Oddly enough, Impact might have a slight significant diffculty with Renny because the few things that makes Renny stand out, he's dead set on. Kindness? He's nurtured and raised in completely happy and good natured environment and pokemons. His pokemon? Mostly life-long best friends, whom he doesn't switch out with other pokemon just for tactical purpose.

Some of the other stuff like battle tactics and such, yeah I can see that potentially happening. But the stuff that makes Renny "Renny", it's going to be damn near impossible to break.

I don't suppose you seen the anime Code Geass? Main character has ability that is pretty well exactly like that. (Although it's ability could be considered more focused and powerful than what you're suggesting for Impact.)

Well in that case, do you even need mind control? I'm pretty sure you can just tell Charlotte "hey, kill this bitch" and she'll kill that bitch.

Geminex 04-04-2010 10:21 PM

Nah, don't watch much anime. And I'm not sure how strong my power's gonna be... Depends on what AB does. The passive part of it wouldn't be that strong at all, but when I'm using it as a signature technique, it'd definitely seem supernatural to an unaffected observer. Or it would, anyway, if I were focusing it. If I'm talking to a crowd of, say, 200 000, the I could probably sway them to my side, if they're unbiased. But I'll leave it to AB to determine what the effects would be, how much power the technique has.

And I only just realized, I refer to Impact in the first person. Sometimes, anyway. And what's more, I'm the only person to do so. How strange.
...
No, I'm not insane, thanks for asking.

And hey, Renny can try to stop my takeover of Homnyr. Even if he can't detect it, he might notice something fishy going on. Contact the kimonos (if they're still alive by then ^^), stand against Impact.

Though that'd be a story for another time. For now let's just wipe out all ruin types.

Edit:
Quote:

I think I might need mind control to stop her from going over-the-top. Because I'm pretty sure that if Charlotte's busy killing Bitches, then she won't see much reason to stop at just one bitch.
Also, Charlotte's signature technique needs to be Pack Attack: Morph into wolf, deploy all pokemon, tear the enemy to pieces.

Dracorion 04-04-2010 10:27 PM

Whoa, whoa, hey! If anyone's going to be leading the resistance movement against Impact's takeover it's going to be Pierce. It just makes sense.

Since we're making up Charlotte's signature techniques now, I'd suggest "Kick the Puppy: Charlotte fearlessly walks over to the target and kicks them in the face. All stats drop by 3. Deals more damage the more wounded the target is."

With the werewolf change and pack attack, that's all three of Charlottes techniques.

Geminex 04-04-2010 10:37 PM

Bard The 5th LW 04-04-2010 10:52 PM

Charlotte is a bit like a gun. You aim and shoot. Although be warned, sometimes there may be a jam or a misfire. Although outside of fighting and killing, you can assume Charlotte is a semi tolerable person. some of the time.

And while I'm still considering signature techniques, Kick the Puppy definitely seems like something that is up high on the list.

Bring it on. Pierce's pokemon go rogue and beat your ass. And don't think mind control will save you. They'll be so pissed they pretty much won't have minds to control. They'll be all "KILL IMPACT".

Seriously. Pierce isn't stupid enough to fight demonic Impact one-on-one.

And yes, it is fucking awesome having an ultimate trump card like that.

EDIT: Anyway, I think we're missing the real issue here. Which is how to go about torturing Matthias. For starters, what, if anything, do we want to get out of him? Do we use psychic torture or good old-fashioned physical torture? Do we do the good cop/bad cop routine or bad cop/batshit murdeous cop/good cop who doesn't give a crap? And finally, boxers or briefs?

Not necessarily. If you made your objectives public, Charlotte probably wouldn't take kindly to you trying to take her killing machines away. Matt too.

And that's the whole point of keeping Impact's mind control thingy undetectable. Pierce wouldn't know if he could trust everyone else, he'd just take his pokemon and bring the beatdown on Impact.

Geminex 04-05-2010 12:02 AM

Oh, they wouldn't be made public. At least not to begin with. I'm thinking, I'll base my political position on the subsidization of human enterprise and research into non-pokemon-related areas. Trainers would be regulated more strictly and be far more likely to lose their trainer's licenses for abuse of pokemon. Also, the police force would be strengthened, with special emphasis being placed on the training of further slayers. In my first term, I'd work primarily on eradicating the mob and finding areas (say, communications and transport) where the fruits of human ingenuity is obviously displayed to the public. Of course, since all that spending would require budget cuts in other areas, pokemon centres would suffer, but I'd probably make up for that by centralizing pokemon care. Since transport will have improved considerably, it shouldn't be a problem for the entire region to have, say, 20 huge facilities instead of 1000 smaller ones.

I'd probably also be building up my secret service. Charlotte at its head, naturally. Disguised as the last faction of the mob that still survives, terrorizing the general population with pokemon. As far as Charlotte knows, I just want to keep Homnyr intimidated. Of course, having the general population fear pokemon would also be quite convenient.

In my second term I'd probably go for more drastic methods. By the second year, human enterprise should have driven out pokemon-based enterprise. Technology beating out supernatural beasts, with expansion still to come. Trainers would be... disadvantaged. Battles would be frowned upon most strongly, as would any kind of training. A lot of attacks (say, earthquake or blizzard) would be banned entirely for environmental effects. My government would fund and release reports of survival rates of wild pokemon vs. trained pokemon and find that the latter's lives are almost halved. As (very biased) scientific evidence builds up, and Charlotte's attacks continue, protest groups against keeping pokemon will form. Half will declare that all pokemon are evil and must be destroyed, the other half will call trainers monsters, who enslave poor innocent creatures. Pokebrids will of, course, catch their share of public discontent and be offered special habitats by the government, where they can live in piece, away from an unforgiving society. My second term would end with Charlotte being caught and dying while "resisting arrest", the mafia being destroyed, pokemon being outlawed entirely (in response to public pressure, of course), Impact being declared dictator and homnyr turning into a communist utopia.
...
Maybe not that last bit, but you get the idea.

...
Look, I'm German, when I talk about political domination, I actually put some thought into it, ok?

Bard The 5th LW 04-05-2010 12:14 AM

I would say something like 'Charlotte would kill Impact first', but the thing is ... she wouldn't. Charlotte doesn't care for a position at the top. She is actually very far removed from being a StarScream type accomplice.

If Impact can successfully win her favor/trust, she would likely be a very loyal minion as long as she got some blood. Although if Impacts intentions ever became clear to her, which is unlikely, she would rip that communist bastard to shreds. No warning and no planning. She would pull out the strongest kill-mon she had at the moment and kill him right there. Maybe even do it herself if she has the means.

Geminex 04-05-2010 12:19 AM

I fully intend to get her on Impact's side before the political campaign begins. And what I wrote above is pretty much what he'll explain to her. He'll just emphasize the "You get to be a terrorist!" aspect more, and forget to mention that among the individuals unfit to wield pokemon, Charlotte is, like, #1.

Bard The 5th LW 04-05-2010 12:44 AM

What I find funny is that the revelation of that plan arguably makes Impact a worse person than Charlotte. Sure, Charlotte should be locked up, she's sadistic and shouldn't have any power.

But Impact? He is on the road towards being a Knight Templar extremist, and attempting to basically let Charlotte do what she does on a large scale so he can use the resulting fear and pain, that he caused, entirely for his own gain.

I'm sure that is intentional though.

Geminex 04-05-2010 01:27 AM

Well, Impact's not that bad a guy, as long as pokemon aren't involved. He wouldn't make a bad world leader. Political extremist, yes, but only an extremist in one area.

And, well, yes, of course it's intentional. I have certain resources, among them an individual who'll make a valuable ally as long as her taste for violence is sated. She's gonna be violent anyway, might as well have her be violent in my service. Ok, so Impact's actually helping her, and exacerbating her violent tendencies, but he justifies that by the fact that however many lives are lost, being rid of pokemon will make up for that in the long run.

Astral Harmony 04-05-2010 02:12 AM

Remind me why I didn't post last night because I was really enjoying playing FFXIII? Just like last time, another fucking wall of text that I'm in no way going to read. All I picked up outta skimming it is Impact wants mind control for purposes I'm certain I won't like.

I'll get to posting now, if only to get you all to shut up.

Geminex 04-05-2010 02:22 AM

It was pretty much me outlining what abilities I was hoping to get when I go full-demon, and then outlining how I'd make myself ruler of Homnyr.

Edit: Other people might have said something as well, I'm not sure. If I didn't know better, I'd say that Pierce was saying he'd oppose me, but that would be very, very foolish.

Astral Harmony 04-05-2010 04:04 AM

So, to put a long story short...

Impact: "You can't possibly defeat me, Pierce. My mind is far beyond your reckoning!"
Pierce: "You overestimate yourself, Impact. You'll never stand a chance against my harem of doom!"

Yes, I can actually imagine this happening in the story proper. By the way, post is nearing completion of Allied Force side. You wouldn't believe some of the stuff I done did. But I'm sure Pierce and Charlotte will be happy that I done did it.

Geminex 04-05-2010 04:08 AM

Well yeah, but Impact'd probably wait with his political career until after these Ruinous Origins. So if anything, we'd need a PVP sequel.

Astral Harmony 04-05-2010 04:22 AM

Let me guess. You want to be cast as the main villain?

Geminex 04-05-2010 04:45 AM

That would be the case. I mean, Impact's entire reason for getting the fully-demonic upgrade would be eventual domination of Homnyr (and after that... who knows?). He's definetly going to apply them. A lot of stuff can go wrong, of course, but I've already described a fairly reasonable scenario. A scenario which would embody all of Impact's ideals, but involve a lot of trainers losing their pokemon. A scenario which Renny and Pierce would (as Pierce said) rebel against most vigorously.

Even if I don't join the sequel, as long as the others want to, I'd be totally happy with Impact being the main villain in that one. As long as he isn't defeated too easily. I might even make a cameo appearance or two, where I actually write him.

Though if all that's gonna happen, I'll really have to work on giving him some more character, as well as making him evil (he's still true neutral at the moment) over the course of the RP.

Pokémon Obsidian: The Impact Felt Throughout the World, a tale of one man's ambition to abolish Pokémon training. A tale of one man's determination to change a world engulfed in the eons old practice of raising combat animals. A tale of one's man internal struggle over conquering the world or being able to eat Chizuru's cooking. Coming this September. Rated R for graphic violence, graphic sex, sexy violence, sexy nudity, and sexy nude graphics.

And comical nosebleeds.

Geminex 04-05-2010 05:13 AM

I like it. We could totally make a manga out of that.

And I just read the post.
You fucking bastard.

Now, I don't know, what fear aura does, but I can guess. "Some kind of defensive move", eh? Perhaps the kind of defensive move that prevents all damage for a turn? Including the damage that Phantomere would take from three effing signature drives? That kind of damage?

Now, perhaps I'm wrong, and if so I retract the "fucking bastard", but it's exactly the kind of very annoying thing that I'd do if I were GMing. So we'll wait and see, yes?

Edit:

Yes. One on every page. Though if Impact is the villain, does he miss out on the fanservice-fest? Because the only female so far is Charlotte, and she's not fanservice fodder. No matter what fanfics Drac writes.
Or does Impact just get lots of sidekicks?

DanteFalcon 04-05-2010 05:29 AM

It is quite likely Matthias will finally be pulling out his paradigm shift. Hopefully he'll be able to help in the damage against Phantomere.

Geminex 04-05-2010 05:55 AM

I was actually hoping to focus on killing zombies this turn. Phantomere's used some sort of defensive technique, and I don't trust it. Sure, we could all focus fire on it again, but what I'd do much rather is kill zombies this turn, so that we can fully focus on killing Phantomere next turn. He doesn't seem to be capable of healing himself again (I hope), so we might actually be able to finish him off. The only problem is that we'll be down a few fighters, thanks to the death clock, but Phantomere'll take three testament drives that, I hope, his ability won't be able to fend off.

TL;DR: Paradigm shift is great, but perhaps attack Breloom with an air-type move, instead of hitting phantomere. Also, here's what I've got planned for attacks this round:

Breloom: Flying (possibly matt?), failing that, psychic (Latios/as). 2 pokemon attacks, along with Shannon's machete.
Kabutops: Grass (2-hit) Shannon's pokemon
Forterress: Fire (1-hit) Blaziken (Pierce should deploy)
Tropius: Anything (1-hit, Charlotte's shotgun?)
Cradily: Steel 1-hit, Rachel's metagross?
Heracross: Flying. Failing that, psychic. Probably not gonna die this round.

I think it'd work well enough. As you see, even if we take down 5 zombies this turn, we'll still have quite a lot of attack power left over.

What d'you guys think?

Dracorion 04-05-2010 09:09 AM

Oh boy, where do I start.

Pierce did order Kingdra! It was right there at the end of my last post, Kingdra was attacking Omnisroth with a Dragon Pulse! How'd you miss that?

Also, Pierce is not happy. Pierce is not happy at all. He didn't get a badass machete or a shotgun. Well, maybe a little happy. Aside from having Tyranitar downed he's been completely ignored by the enemies. Probably because he's downing his own pokemon.

Or maybe Pierce is the Ruin Commander everyone's been looking for! THAT WOULD BE TOTALLY FREAKING AWESOME. Either way, maybe we should take advantage of it and revive Tyranitar.

And you son of a bitch, Samantha was going to be Pierce's sister's name. Name-stealin' bastard. (No, Harliette is not Pierce's sister. Are you freakin' kidding me?)

Sounds good, Gem. Consider Foretress down, courtesy of Overheat. There ain't no kill like overkill, after all. I'll have Kingdra test Phantomere's defenses with a Dragon Pulse, y'know, if AB doesn't miss it.

EDIT: As an afterthought, if Impact tried to take over Honmyr, Pierce would set things up so that, if Impact killed him, he could go "If you strike me down I shall become more powerful than you could possibly imagine" and it'd be true.

First of all, I agree that the aura is suspcious. Secondly, you should re-read the summary since Breloom is already knocked out.

Agree with Kabutops, and Forterress. Tropicus is being dealt with by Latias for quad damage due to ice. Targetting Heracross with Outrage since I can't switch out or have Swampert do another move. A Psychic or flying move on top of that would be good, or even Charlotte using her shotgun here instead of Tropicus.

Bard The 5th LW 04-05-2010 12:17 PM

Question. Will the shotgun ber any actual effect against Phantomere, or will it go through him like a fighting/normal type against a ghost.

Dracorion 04-05-2010 12:27 PM

Well, Explosion is a Normal-type attack and it hit Phantomere both times (though why it did beats the hell out of me), so the shotgun should work.
