They Did It. They Really Did It - A Noir Spiderman Game

It's called Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions.

Apparently there are more dimensions. That are shattered.

That's Noir Spiderman, and he's noir, not really steampunk, it's kind of hard to tell as steampunk settings have taken from noir, but it's not meant to be steampunk.

Anywho, it looks cool, Im interested in seeing what other versions of Spiderman they use. I hope for Iron Spiderman

EVILNess 05-18-2010 01:44 AM

My brain just exploded with awesome.

Dear god, don't let this suck.

POS Industries 05-18-2010 01:48 AM

Steampunk's a totally different thing. What you've got there is Pulp Spider-Man.

Which is actually even cooler.

Or noir, yeah. There's definitely some pulp elements but if he's gonna be monologuing like that through the whole game then it's going to definitely be noir.

Iron Spider... or

Spider Ham?

Premmy 05-18-2010 01:53 AM

video implies stealth gameplay for NOIR Spider-man and straight up fighting for 616 Spidey. I can only hope Ultimate Spidey is all about web swinging action. Spidey 2099's gotta be another maybe platforming/puzzle solving?
NOIR Spidey Monologued all through his comic.
edit: Iron Spider would just be an Alt costume for Amazing, since that's what it was.

Last year Marvel went through a noir phase, they did a bunch of alternate timeline stuff with a number of their comics. Course, some of em were pure pulp while others were more noir, but they labeled it all noir.

Aye, but it was important enough for the Civil War that Id hope they'd make it a alternate universe of it's own>.<

Premmy 05-18-2010 01:58 AM

Spider-man NOIR was ALL him solving the mystery of Uncle Ben's murder and the Green Goblin was just the Kingpin in Osbourne's body.... fucker didn't even throw pumpkin bombs...

POS Industries 05-18-2010 02:01 AM

Somehow I don't see Spider-Ham getting thrown into it.

Me? I say go with Spider-Man 1602 and Spider-Man 2099.

Premmy 05-18-2010 02:04 AM

Didn't Spider-man 1602 specifically NOT have powers? wasn't his whole gimmick him, like, just BARELY missing getting bitten by the spider throughout the whole thing?

He got bitten at the end and had powers in New World: 1602.

Also the misuse of the term "steampunk" is going to bother the hell out of me so I'm gonna go ahead and change it.

Premmy 05-18-2010 02:07 AM

What in the hell did he swing from in 1602?

Yumil 05-18-2010 02:08 AM

How about Spider Man:India?

Premmy 05-18-2010 02:10 AM

I love his Curly shoes and dress-robe-crotch-cloth thing... actually, I love that whole costume.

Well, there were a lot more trees back then.

Plus all his enemies are demon based, and he got his powers from a Yogi!

Premmy 05-18-2010 02:12 AM

Here's a list of prospects, taking bets on which'n it'll be and what the gameplay will be.

Bells 05-18-2010 10:56 AM

i would bet that Zombie Spiderman gets in. And maybe a version of Spider Girl would close the deal .

Seil 05-18-2010 11:38 AM

They're probably going to do something linking this to Spiderman 3, like Black-Suit Spidey.

Also, does the trailer, that is to say, Spiderman's powers in the trailer, strike anyone else as odd? Overdone? Goofy?

Melfice 05-18-2010 11:44 AM

As a substitute for Iron Spider, they could have that Spider-Man that built his own metal Spider-armour. You know? From the old cartoon?
This guy?

Edited to show a much better picture instead, courtesy of Wikipedia.

Wouldn't mind seeing Man-spider, should add some variety to it.

This reminds me of one version of spider-man, I think it was japanese, that got his powers from space aliens and did battle in a giant robot... from space. Though I'm not sure that was licensed sooo

Seil 05-18-2010 12:14 PM

At first I thought you were joking. Like... the Japanese really wouldn't do that, would they?

Then I remembered that the Japanese are insane.

See, when you mentioned this, my fist thought was 3 Dev Adam, even though that's Turkish. Now that would have some unique gameplay.

stefan 05-19-2010 04:38 PM

clearly then, the 4th spiderman version is Italian Spiderman.

Seil 05-19-2010 04:47 PM

I... uh... well... hmmm.

So is this real? Or just a school project? 'Cause it's all pretty terrible. Not terrible bad, but terrible.

Actually, that and Battle Fever J were the results of a 5-year contract with Marvel that literally gave Japan carte blanche to do whatever they liked with the entire Marvel roster.

So yes, it was licensed by Marvel.

It'd be worth it just for the eyebrows and special attacks involving ravenous guinea pigs.

BitVyper 05-21-2010 01:06 AM

Interestingly, Japanese Spiderman kicked off the tokusatsu formula of having heroes fight monsters on foot for a bit, and then calling transforming, giant robots to continue the fight. In fact, he might have had a large part in kicking off the giant robot phenomenon in general.

Also for using so much stock footage. They burned through their entire special effects budget by like the third episode and somebody stole the robot suit, so they ended up creating all the fight scenes with it by splicing generic attacks together with monster footage. XD
