Cave Story Wii

This game is out on Wiiware now? Why didn't any of you fuckers tell me? DOWNLOADING NOW

SO EXCITED

But yeah. You guys should download it. It's awesome.

I'm so tempted to make my wireless network accept my Wii now. Even though it didn't ever work when I tried that before. I guess I'll just play the original again.
How much new awesome did they put in the game? Is there something I definitely shouldn't miss?

EVILNess 05-18-2010 03:42 PM

You can play the game through as Curly, they remastered the music and graphics, and Ido believe there is a boss rush.

Sadly, Balrog doesn't go "HUZZAH" anymore.

I just hope Pixel is getting paid for this. Five years of solo work is a lot of time and he released it for free. Now that there's money involved, it would sicken me with grief if he didn't see any of it for his vast effort.

Jagos 05-18-2010 04:02 PM

If he worked on it, he got paid

I doubt they'd just forget him when they need his permission to do all they did to the game.

Must...get...MUSIC...

Thank you for restoring my logic.

I guess I'm just so used to businesses being smeared for the next controversy that my brain went freeware + Pixel not doing games anymore + big business = off the deep end.

I really should have more faith in my own profession. I disappoint myself. :(

Ruined FOREVER.

Yeah, I might look into getting that. Cave Story was pretty fun.

I heard there were some technical problems with the new music. I haven't noticed, but I'm not very far. Did they ever fix that?

The Sevenshot Kid 05-18-2010 11:34 PM

What's Cave Story?

Kim 06-11-2010 10:40 PM

Ressurecting the thread to say I'm at the last cave (the hidden one), and it HAAAATTTTTEEEEEESSSSS me.

I think it took me a day to finally beat the Sacred Grounds. If I remember correctly, I gave up and went to bed at one point, only to get back up and keep playing a few minutes later. Man, memories.

To Steal from phil_'s sig casually borrow from phil_'s sig.

Cave Story. You will play.

EVILNess 06-11-2010 11:55 PM

Does anyone know what the differences in playing the Curly Mode are?

phil_ 06-12-2010 12:43 AM

The Wii version has a Curly mode? Neat.

Made it to the mini-boss here twice now. AAAARGH dying to him is so frustrating. I did find a nifty health respawn glitch though so I'm using that to refill after B2.

EDIT: Haven't made it to Ballos yet, but I just found out there's no save point before fighting him... AAAAAAAAH.

Indeed, you must suffer for the GOOD END.

What's worse is that people do speed runs of this shit.
