I need some good news

No, not this kindthis kind: http://img87.imageshack.us/img87/707...sworth11hj.jpg. And not this kindthis kind: http://i46.tinypic.com/2z6wh6v.jpg either.

I've had nothing but bad news in my personal life for weeks on end now. Parental separations, foreclosure, strained relationships, work troubles, financial troubles, and now death and teen pregnancy all in one week. And that's just in my own immediate little sphere, not to mention all the shit goin' down in the rest of the wide world.

There must be some genuinely good news out there. Lay it on me. I could use some right now.

bluestarultor 06-03-2010 12:36 AM

Mac's working on his next comic and I just discussed the details of my double arc with him.

Also, I've got an appointment for next week to see about getting job placement from school.

No Blue he said he wants Good News.

Well, some good news is that I am assisting in a comic with Bob and I will be on the radio with him hopefully this weekend.

Rejected Again 06-03-2010 03:28 AM

Rejected Again was not rejected by his new girlfriend. Does that count?

ThatPoorMessenger 06-03-2010 08:15 AM

Let's see...good news, good news.
I doubt the context of This Song is actually that good news.

I suppose I could try that somewhere, a child (in the UK at least, don't know timings elsewhere) will be succeeding with end-of-school examinations in brilliant ways?
Alternately, there's that whole thing about scientists finally, successfully, creating a living organism and the implications.

Nique 06-03-2010 12:53 PM

But the Bible IS the real good news!

In leiu of spiritual revelation, here is a video of a baby hearing for the very first time
Deaf Baby Hears - Acts adorable

There is a video game called Pepsiman for the PSX where Pepsiman saves people trapped in a burning building with the refreshing taste of Pepsi. What better news is there?

Magic_Marker 06-03-2010 01:00 PM

In my city there is a place called BATMAN AUTO SALES. There is also a resturant called BATMAN'S GOOD FOOD.

Neither is Batman themed beyond the name.

You are a horrible friend:( - But not a terrible person. Which averages out and (probably) makes you an acceptable internet friend.

Hey, Rick! Read this! http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_butler_s_inheritance

My Daughter is 4 Months old and a week and is drooling everywhere! She's also quite happy either holding her toes and staring at them, or sucking her fingers to make really loud noises!

Go on. I'm a sucker for a good fanfic, erotic in ways that appeal to me or don't. :sweatdrop

NonCon used to stand for NonContradictory. Now I wonder if it's somehow changed to NonConsentual. :ohdear:

It all makes sense. Although I cannot help but imagine link, during intercourse, making the same noises he makes when he swings his sword. But this is getting creepy for me. :raise:

Well, it does make sense, he does make that noise when he thrusts his sword as well, so yeah. I bet in that picture he's making that "dieing" noise.

Some things in life are bad, they can really make you mad.
Other things just make you swear and curse.
When you're chewing on life's gristle, don't grumble, give a whistle.
And this'll help things turn out for the best...

Rejected Again 06-03-2010 02:04 PM

All I can think about is Navi flying around while its going on.
"Hey Listen! Use Z Targeting to hit the anus." Or "Hey Listen! Use Z Targeting to deliver a Donkey Punch!"

So when does he make the spin-attack noise?

Who need's NonCon's fanfic when you have the power of imagination! Plus helpful suggestions! I figure the noise he makes when he gets an item is his finishing noise.

But, he doesn't produce that himself. It's music.

Hylian. :argh:

krogothwolf 06-03-2010 03:22 PM

Hylian, Elf, they got pointy ears so it's all the same! They call Hylian's Elf Like anyways. Well, how about Navi makes the finishing noise for him instead?

Kim 06-03-2010 03:23 PM

Can this entire conversation unhappen?

On topic: I don't have any particularly good news in my life to talk about, but I find that when I'm down goofing around on the internet can do a decent job of cheering me up. I'd offer some links to amusing things, but I'm not really sure what Rick is into, and thus not sure what to link that might amuse him. Hope things get better for you Rick!

I find the possible undertone to saying they look the same, amusing. Still, all I can think of now is Navi warning about STIs shouting "watch out!"

krogothwolf 06-03-2010 03:27 PM

Ah NonCon, it could be worse, we could be talking about CoM/CoL! Well, actually it's all your fault anyways for talking about Link-Dark Link fanfics!

Dude, you know what always cheered me up? Before having a wonderful daughter thats adorable, Killing Nazi's in games, or Zombies..or Civilians in GTA. Yeah...those are fun times.

We can't perform unhappenings for a few more years. Materials, de-summoning costs, binding it to a summon...
We can unreality it, but everyone whose seen it has to forget it.

People are being fired for being too attractive!

I don't know if that's good news or not, but it means that there are really really ridiculously good looking people out there.

PyrosNine 06-03-2010 07:44 PM

I'm not speaking in third person today! Unless I post in the SoL RP thread, though it's only technically speaking from the third person.

Also, you probably don't live near me, so you and all your loved objects are safe from being dangerously flammable.

Please and thank you, respectively.

Nikose Tyris 06-04-2010 07:23 AM

Hey Rick!

I have officially created a bomb that blows up and sends out pipes. It blows upwards and launches pipes about 8 feet in the air and then they drop back down.

I call it a 'pipe bomb' and my friends hate me for it. :D

I've also been playing with fireworks a lot lately since the neighborhood kids keep playing flare tag and I'm sick of my apartment windows getting hit, So- Have you seen the episode of mythbusters where they build a big arrow-launching machine? I can't remember any details of the episode but I've got a transformer on my balcony at this moment that looks like a Barbeque but if you flip it open the interior rises into a big mish-mash of plastic tubes and chain-link fence on either end.

I can light the whole thing with a barbeque lighter and fire off two-dozen rounds of fireworks on a 70 degree plane left/right and 120 degree plane up/down.

I am very proud of this thing. I've used it once, on the Memorial Day weekend. It was fantastic.

Oh and Rick- Today is the day I officially get told I'm going to survive everything! I'm going in for another set of X-Rays, and then the doctor (at 1:30 EST) is going to sit down and tell me that I'm healthy.

Motherfucker better tell me I'm healthy, I have a rocket-cannon.

Yeah, sorry about that, got lost in the whole thing. Still, to attempt to shed a light on things, you do still have a home, and you're not dead so according to a cliche, you are stronger.

At which point, I claim not reaching that point in old age when it stops being fun is good news.

I kinda laughed when ThatPoorMessenger is posting to this thread you know

I'm not sure if this is good news at all, but I'm going to graduate today. :|

Also yesterday I saw guy who had three kittens in his pocket. It was quite amusing. Especially the part when he come to chat with us. (I was at job doing absolutely nothing at all - It was summer job and last day of that shit)

Good news: Well - personally, I'm heading out to Los Angeles to watch ceremony for a film I edited that won a Student Academy Award.

That, and I ran into Dennis Rodman last night at the casino. He then hopped on stage at the bar and started singing "Play that Funky Music White Boy." Which, is good in several ways, foremost being, "Dennis Rodman is still alive!"
