Trollslum Discussion 6: The tears will never stop!

Oh the tragedy of it all.

Now for some pictures lovingly torn from the fanart thread.

We're all thinking it.http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/a...trollight2.jpg

She has too. :D

Overcast 02-05-2011 06:21 PM

And she'll probably do it again before the game is over. For therapeutic purposes.

Geminex 02-05-2011 06:31 PM

Could I just say "Not it"?
Cause totally Not It.

Overcast 02-05-2011 06:39 PM

Only Leraje would feel better when someone is chewing on him. Stop being silly.

Aldurin 02-06-2011 12:01 PM

Dammit Sharl, Aldurin would have still been a customer probably-maybe.

Loyal 02-06-2011 12:24 PM

I'm just repeating this here since it seems to have been overlooked in the wake of the new thread:

[CODE] tags work for cutting down on length, and the box for it is conveniently exactly as wide as standard MSPA images.

Geminex 02-06-2011 12:38 PM

Hmm...
Code tags do have the downside that any long text stretches the box, so you need to scroll horizonally as well as vertically.
But Swap can be annoying as well.

Guys, let's give CODE a try. Everyone use it for a few posts, then we'll see how well it works. If we don't like it, we can always go back to SWAPing.

Bard The 5th LW 02-07-2011 03:15 PM

I also support the use of CODE tags for now.

Overcast 02-07-2011 03:33 PM

I don't trust that there Bard, he threw in a for now at the end a that one. Means he's a flip flopper. Can't trust no flip flopper.

Geminex 02-07-2011 03:35 PM

The author of this post apologizes in advance.

I think his support is unwavering. But the proposal he's supporting is a preliminary one. That is to say, it's not necessarily permanent.

In other words, use code tags until we say you can stop. Oh yeah. Use them. Use them gooooood.

POS Industries 02-07-2011 03:45 PM

I need to see about bringing back the TL;DR tags or something operationally similar.

Geminex 02-07-2011 03:50 PM

That might be useful. Neither Spoiler or Code are really ideal.

SO YES.
DO THAT.
I COMMAND IT.

POS Industries 02-07-2011 05:07 PM

A compromise has been reached and a change to the swap tag has been made. They are now activated by double-clicking instead of single-clicking. Hopefully that should be more convenient than it is inconvenient.

Flarecobra 02-07-2011 05:10 PM

That would be excellent, POS.

Geminex 02-07-2011 05:17 PM

BLUH BLUHHUGE BITCH

This is working very well indeed. Thanks.

That addresses the problem nicely, soooooo we will henceforth go back to SWAPing like a collection of bosses. Or trolls, as that may be.

...

And now I'm stuck making a Trollslum version of "Like a Boss". Thanks, guys.

mauve 02-08-2011 02:47 PM

Do the green quote boxes look okay in that post, or are they too ugly? I was experimenting with the color tags.

Flarecobra 02-08-2011 03:16 PM

THey look fine here.

Overcast 02-08-2011 03:25 PM

Yes and they taste wonderful.

Loyal 02-08-2011 03:34 PM

I think it works pretty well.

Token 02-11-2011 05:32 PM

Yeah, I pretty much have no excuse for not posting (or, y'know, not reading the thread for a few weeks, what the fuck). Gonna post all the memos and chats and shit today, hopefully.

Bard, would it be okay if I pulled a Dave and skipped forward slightly to when I'm first in the medium, then show the actual entry in a little later? This animation still needs a lot of work.

Bard The 5th LW 02-12-2011 12:23 PM

Actually, you have the most excuse.

This is actually what we were expecting.

YESSSSS UPDATES!!

Aldurin 02-16-2011 11:35 AM

Loyal, do you have a Trollian template for that? I could use one for my posts.

Loyal 02-16-2011 01:15 PM

I just grabbed one of the panels on the MSPA site. Specifically one of the earlier conversations between Vriska and Doc Scratch. (Ctrl+F "highlight" should help). And then I edit it as necessary.

[edit]As a note, Ovie, my post was written from the perspective of past Burgun, before she connected to you. My next post is her getting Leraje into the medium.

mauve 02-16-2011 02:23 PM

I love how you draw Burgun's hivestem, Loyal. That thing looks so awesome.

Loyal 02-16-2011 05:00 PM

I am both relieved and dismayed that only the triangular structure at the bottom will actually be teleported into the medium.

But if I knew how, I'd totally draw the entire thing crumbling from the simultaneous effects of Burgun's hive not being there anymore, and the meteor impact.

Overcast 02-24-2011 10:14 AM

It is time. Time to do more of this stuff, everyone still here?

Aldurin 02-24-2011 11:18 AM

Yep

Intern Nin 02-24-2011 11:39 AM

Dude, I've been here working on a new post this entire time! Day after day, toiling away over a pit of red-hot words, picking them out to use in sculpting this literary masterpiece. Clutching these searing letter jumbles with nary a bit cloth between them and my palm, listening them sizzle as I hurriedly place them down upon the page. And how I would love to just let them go. To let these fresh words fall down and hit the floor and start a fire.

But I don't. And I continue on with my post-craft, aching and weary but never ceasing!

Okay, maybe I ceased a few times for a soda break. And then a sandwich break. Not to mention the dance breaks.

Alright, so I'm just working on it off and on between bouts of slothfulness and playing Persona. It's not my fault, The Answer is real stinking hard.

Token 02-24-2011 11:41 AM

Assuming this stupid stroke-scare thing stops, I should have something up today or tomorrow.

Dracorion 02-24-2011 12:05 PM

I've got this overdue Umbral post that I'm writing, albeit incredibly slowly.

As soon as that's done, I'll get more sadsack Zebrek all up in this bitch.

Loyal 02-24-2011 12:59 PM

Yes, I'm still here. I just have no idea what kind of pictures I should do for my next post.

mauve 02-24-2011 02:21 PM

I'm still here!

Bard The 5th LW 02-24-2011 03:22 PM

I'm here. I'm pretty sure I'm still important to this RP right?

Flarecobra 02-24-2011 03:33 PM

I'm around. Just been busy playing minecraft when not filling out job applications.

I also made a thing. It was quick, but fun.

Trollslum: Ace Attorneyhttp://sadpanda.us/images/381904-N7INIB6.jpg

Going to make a Team Fortress one later. Spoiler alert Gorrma is going to be cast as Armstrong.

Arcanum 02-27-2011 01:59 PM

Totally just noticed now that there was a roll call going on a few days ago. But yeah I'm here. I have three midterms this week though, so I won't be working on my next post until after I'm done with those.

Flarecobra 02-28-2011 06:05 PM

SS: Cute.

Aldurin 02-28-2011 06:10 PM

There is an exile, and she uses turntables. That is badass.

Bard The 5th LW 02-28-2011 06:12 PM

Shouldn't Caoway's Exile's station be at Leraje's house? They normally appear at the ruined home of the server player, so why at Gorrma's hive?

Intern Nin 02-28-2011 06:15 PM

Well, she's not just Caoway's Exile. She's gonna bug Scalis and pretty much anybody else who's screen isn't locked.

Bard The 5th LW 02-28-2011 06:19 PM

Still it seems off. Unless she is Zebrek's exile then it would either be at Leraje or Reztek's hive.

Overcast 02-28-2011 07:31 PM

They are just little nubs that go backward. I think they raise about an inch and a half before shooting back to a point about a half inch.

Bard The 5th LW 02-28-2011 08:04 PM

The Pad for Alchemy requests.

Read the rules and use it wisely. It is going to be added to my Sig soon. It is now in my sig.

mauve 02-28-2011 09:58 PM

Nin, that post was awesome. XD Your Exile is fantastic. I hope we can expect some Tergum VS ID rap battles sometime in the future.

Arhra 03-01-2011 07:03 AM

Busy busy busy. I'll have to try to work out something in the next few days.

Token 03-01-2011 07:27 AM

This exile. I have no words other than fuck and YES.

I will commence with the preparation of beats immediately.

Bard The 5th LW 03-01-2011 10:35 PM

Eating good fortune is the best way to gain it.

Loyal 03-01-2011 10:37 PM

Eating good fortune is the best way to make sure it never goes away!

It's cool, Giga. Your brave sacrifice will not be in vain.

Aldurin 03-01-2011 11:23 PM

I've just realized I need to write a post. At the very least I should keep up with the intended murderers of a certain character, so that mental progression on both sides can be shown consistently.

Token 03-02-2011 02:34 PM

Yes, I am going somewhere with this.

HONK
honk
MOTHERFUCKERS.

mauve 03-02-2011 02:53 PM

Token. That was AWESOME.

SO AWESOME.

Bard The 5th LW 03-02-2011 05:14 PM

@Token post: Wait what

Aldurin 03-02-2011 06:26 PM

Is this one of those choose-your-own-demise type stories?

I didn't overstep or anything, did I? I had planned for Tergum to slowly begin to lose it, and Black Text Tergum is going to be the eventual outcome of that. He won't directly interfere with the events, if you're worried about that; just sort of be a douche to Tergum because he's become a jaded, nihilistic asshole.

To be fair, Tergum is a writer.

Bard The 5th LW 03-02-2011 07:57 PM

No there's no real problem with the concept, but it seemed like Tergum died in both timelines. Pretty confuzzling.

Token 03-02-2011 08:03 PM

Indeed he did.

Bard The 5th LW 03-02-2011 08:07 PM

... Alpha Token?

And I thought he prototyped Strize and Trollight? The post made it seem like on or the other got pre medium prototyping.

Token 03-02-2011 10:53 PM

well shit, that was stupidly unclear on my part. yeah, he prototyped both. in the =/=> doomed timeline, he only prototyped Strize, which fucked the timeline up.

mauve 03-03-2011 11:42 PM

Chumley-voiced Beechie is the best thing.

Also: Viki noooooo! Don't listen to the possessed frying pan! D: D: You were too young! *sob* Who will randomly leap out and perform a lively jig for visitors now?!

Good to see you back in the game, SSB!

The SSB Intern 03-04-2011 01:09 AM

Truly the most tragic part of Vicki's death is that as a sprite, he will have no legs.

Intern Nin 03-04-2011 01:30 AM

He can still transform into a giant tap dancing monstrosity.

Aldurin 03-04-2011 11:24 AM

Why does Leraje keep exploding his computers?

mauve 03-04-2011 02:44 PM

Because shutting it down is too boring.

The SSB Intern 03-09-2011 02:57 PM

Hurrah, weird time shit.

Flarecobra 03-10-2011 02:43 AM

Crazy thought: Using Trollian.

Bard The 5th LW 03-14-2011 05:55 PM

Okay guys, nows the time where I encourage speeding up entries. The real plot will only begin once I feel a sufficient number have reached the medium. If you are next in line to enter, send me a PM and I will inform you of your Cruxite artifact/test of character.

Aldurin 03-14-2011 07:22 PM

I don't have any Aldurin posts going, but I can try for an exile or something.

Bard The 5th LW 03-14-2011 07:32 PM

The exiles can't really carry any communication until the medium.

Maybe we can do things a bit differently. Since there's a bit of slowing and its holding up the whole line, maybe some of the players can elect to break up into 4 sessions of 4 for a brief amount of time and then connect up with the other groups afterward? I'd still prefer two teams, but different entrie groups may speed it up.

It would likely go like this:

1.)Tergum, Ballaa, Iropha, Scalis
2.)Reztek, Vintag, Nasryl, Aldurin
3)Caoway, Leraje, Burgun, Piron
4.)Glissa, Zebrek, Gorrma, Sharl

What do you all think?

Aldurin 03-14-2011 07:50 PM

Reasonable, Aldurin could notice while tracking the meteors that they'll impact to early for the procession, and order a split for both teams to speedline the process.

Bard The 5th LW 03-14-2011 08:03 PM

Alright then, we're picking up this crazy train. Speeded entry is a go. Earl, go ahead and have Aldurin make his declaration in like a memo or something. Don't bother putting it in the pad. Just have him send the message out so it can be posted in character quickly.

Flarecobra 03-14-2011 08:15 PM

My question is this: Who gets the last person into the Medium from each group?

mauve 03-14-2011 08:52 PM

I'm fine with temporary small teams.

Token 03-14-2011 10:02 PM

I have no objections to the smaller teams.

The SSB Intern 03-15-2011 12:07 PM

I'd guess the first person of the small group. But that would make some people change their server/client for a short period.

Arcanum 03-15-2011 12:13 PM

Nah the small groups are only temporary. We keep the original chain order, it's just there will be more people entering at the same time. So Scalis would still link up with Reztek and Piron would still link up with Glissa.
