Pokemon Umbral Theatre 24: Menarker's Madhouse
So uhhh...yeah, Menarker's photobucket is composed of far more pictures than all that I asked him to add.
Still, I'm going to be using a few of my own this time... http://i1038.photobucket.com/albums/...ral/Poke74.jpg Don't laugh. Don't even smirk. You'll only encourage me. http://i1038.photobucket.com/albums/...ral/poke58.png Y'know, I lost my chance to catch a shiny Geodude for this exact same reason. http://i1038.photobucket.com/albums/...ral/Poke11.jpg I imagine this was how Renny's journey started, too. Pokemon In Real Life! Strangely enough, I would kinda prefer this life over my own. Anyways, I'll just create Jeanette and Violet's profiles from scratch. No biggie. The only thing that would take time is picking forms that aren't already taken but, thanks to Menarker, that's not going to be a problem, either. ... Speaking of Menarker... Hey, Drac. Do you like MissingNo? |
Erm...
That depends, do I, personally, get to do anything awesome with it? |
I'm not entirely certain.
Here's what went down. I had a chat with Menarker this morning and there's a spot of trouble about the Pokemon Victini. I honestly don't care that Chizuru doesn't get it (she likes cute Pokemon but there's plenty of those around), but Dante asked to have Victini as one of his Pokebrid forms and I intend to make it so, which would kinda sorta prevent you from selecting Victini as one of the Pokemon for your NPCs...of which you have three who use Pokemon. Honestly, I really don't give much of a Rattata's ass if a Trainer and a Pokebrid both use a Victini. It's just one of Menarker's pet peeves and I can certainly agree with where he's coming from since if multiple people are using the same shit, it tends to bring down the excitement level somewhat. Besides, there's so many other Pokemon. I was thinking either have that NPC of yours use a beefed up MissingNo (to cover up some of it glitch weaknesses [Menarker told me there's one with zero for its DEF stat]) or Latios which if I recall was given to Impact even though he wouldn't be caught dead using it which would mean it's just sitting there, looking all aerodynamic 'n' shit. Incidentally, if that NPC isn't going to be joining for a long time, I'll be taking some time to create a somewhat considerable roster of original Pokemon. Honmyr is its own region, it should have some original Pokemon, after all. One could be chosen from that stack when those're done. |
No. It deletes your save data and Pierce has to restart from the beginning of the RP.
|
Okay, see.
You got me confused there, because last I remember I told Menarker Victini was out of my lineup. I wanted it for Sophia, I think, but then replaced it because Menarker likes to whine. But hey, I still don't see why Chizuru and Matt can't both have it. |
I can see why it would be a bit annoying for them to both have it. Does bug me a bit to see too much of the same.
Not saying it can't be done, but I can agree with that little peeve. |
Oh, I didn't know that part. Carry on, then.
... I kinda wonder if people have never seen the pictures or video since they don't comment on them. Then again, some of those things really don't need commenting. |
None of those things need commenting.
Ever. |
In regards to glitch pokemons, there are several of them. Many of their stats are really skewed. And a few are overpowered. (Higher than ARCEUS although this was before the Special Attack and Special Defense Split)
http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/%E3%82%A5 http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/.4 ... Yeah. Anyhow, if it makes you feel any better Drac, I managed to organize things a bit more and make some room, so you got one of the other pokemons you requested, Cofagrius. Just checking with AB over a few things. If things look good, then I'll share with it everyone for input. If it looks good at that point, then I'll start assigning movesets, abilities and items. Too bad Mudkip doesn't come from a sexy professor ingame. Or even a cool professor like Oak or Rowan. Birch is pretty bland. And the video was pretty neat. Although it's weird that everyone would want to stand in one spot waiting for someone who can walk in front to battle... But that's probably for the best. If trainers itching for a battle actually could seek you out, you'd probably never get a moment peace. ^^; BTW, if Drac doesn't want Latios, (He expressed he wanted Zekrom and I have no problem with that, especially if I get Reshiram) I could give it to Rayleen in place of her Hydreigon. That way the Hydreigon which his NPC has will be unique. ^^ |
Carried over from other thread.
As a fair warning. I'm moving Tomorrow (ok Technically today (Saturday)) Morning. So I won't have consistent internet access for a few weeks. I'll still be able to check on this just not every day. |
It could get even worse if NPC trainers came from all around the world just to punk on the new kid...
Dandy Old Man: "I've got a level 54 Altaria, a level 56 Lucario, and a level 57 Gyarados. Let's have a fair battle!" Player Character: "Fair battle, my ass! I just got my level 5 starter one hour ago, you old fuck!" Dandy Old Man: "But if you beat me, you get 14080 Pokemon Dollars!" Player Character: "Do I look like I need that much money right now?! Go back to where you stood all the way across the continent. You're making my town smell like a retirement home." Dandy Old Man: "Could I give you my phone number?" Player Character: "Why, so you can tell me that your fuckin' Altaria is different from other Altaria? No thank you, I haven't yet found a reason to live yet and you're trying to give me a reason to kill myself." |
Oh yes, very much true. Trainers' strength wouldn't be organized according to geographically sequencial locations! Any trainer in any town is just as likely to sport a weak-ass or an overpowered team as the next.
On the plus side, imagine all the ladies who might very well end up being traveling buddies with you if the real world turns out like the anime. :3 |
I kinda wonder how that would work.
If it was me, I'd be forsaking women for Pokemon and adventures just as much as I forsake women for gaming and anime as I do now (sorry ladies, but don't worry 'cause you're not missing out on much), and I probably wouldn't even think about women or relationships unless I seriously couldn't do Pokemon training or have adventures with Pokemon anymore. Then I'd probably release all but two of my Pokemon (can you imagine trying to cope with a wife, some rugrats, and a bunch of attention-seeking Pokemon all at once? I couldn't do it) and settle down somewhere and me and the missus would reminisce about the good ol' days of when we were young and energetic trainers without a care in the world except for what we were encountering day in and day out instead of worrying about a distant and uncertain future. I suppose on the other hand you could forget about relationships and families entirely and just retire with your Pokemon, but I have a feeling some of them would still have a great many years of battle ahead of them (I imagine Dragon types live for really damn long while Ghost types would live forever to name a couple of examples) and wouldn't be ready to retire even though your body is worn out and your journey is over. All in all, I would say that it's not a bad life. Not a bad life at all. |
Eh, I forgot who I was going to give Cofragius to.
I think I'll trade it in for Sam's Dusknoir. |
Just as a heads-up, this was what I had written down for what you told me the teams would be like under some ideal circumstances or something... (Not that I'm stopping you from trading away Dusknoir)
Elizabeth 1. Sceptile (Grass) 2. Lopunny (Normal) 3. Ninetales (Fire) 4. Cloyster (Water/Ice) 5. Nagarai (Dragon/Electric) Sophia 1. Tsujimi (Almighty) 2. Daramitan (Fire *Psychic) 3. Rotom (Electric/*Varies*) 4. Heracross (Bug Fighting) 5. Cofagrigus (Ghost) 6. Hydreigon (Dark/Dragon) Sam 1. Palkia (Water/Dragon) 2. Gardevoir (Psychic) 3. Miltank (Normal) 4. Scizor (Bug/Steel) 5. Dusknoir (Ghost) 6. Torterra (Grass/Ground) Also, btw, the legendary emotion pokemons such as Azelf are going to be available if you want to switch out Gardevoir for it. (They were in the hands of the president's son but AB said he would be actively supporting PATCA by donating them to our cause) Otherwise, the only other duplicates in your teams is Lopunny (or rather Leprihare) and Heracross (Heidi's form). Not to worry too much though. A small measure of duplicates is unavoidable really. Especially since my Umbreon is naturally going to conflict with one of the eevee trainers. But I'm trying my best to minimalize it while keeping a good balance in types and stats (I managed to get a very high range for pretty much all of them with only a few on the extreme high or low). So ideally, each NPC will hopefully be fairly viable to choose among for the DSS. ^^ |
Well, yeah, but then you said NUH UH and then I switched it around.
And I'm pretty damn certain I told you what their line-ups had ended up as. Basically: Sam: Palkia Gardevoir Scizor Torterra Dusknoir Carracosta Sophia: Tsujimi Darmanitan Rotom Heracross Mismagius Hydreigon But yeah, I guess I'll switch Sam's Dusknoir for Cofragigus. |
I have the conversation saved and you said you took out Mismagius and Carracosta because of Whitney's Mismagius form and Shizuka being assigned Carracosta respectively.
On second thought though, I could perhaps give Omastar to Shizuka instead. It got the highest special attack of all non-legendary water pokemons. Luckily, they also both got the same total base stats. :3 I guess you could switch out Mismagius for the Dusknoir that you replaced with Cofagrius. Then it would be something like Sam: Palkia Gardevoir Scizor Torterra Cofagirus Carracosta Sophia: Tsujimi Darmanitan Rotom Heracross Dusknoir Hydreigon |
Sure, I'm okay with that.
|
Cool. ^^ Made the changes in the database.
AB: I've made some changes in the database and have some things to show you and ask you when you get the chance. Also, in the RP, Renny is currently attempting to talk to Whitney. Just in case you want to add something before Drac finishes his post (hopefully soon). |
Questions answered, hopefully to your liking.
As for Renny talking to Whitney, I'll just hold out and make that post for when Dracorion does his stuff in which case Mirror will unlock the door and the teams will reunite and encounter their next battle...so, a really big post on my end coming up, too. Don't have the Violet and Ricewood profiles made yet. I got drawn into Portal 2 and beat it. What a nice ending. Now to see if I have any puzzle loving friends who'd wanna do the co-op campaign with me. Anyways, I'll try to have those two profiles done as well as a few more either tomorrow or earlier this week. |
Ok, guys!
AB has by far approved of what I have come up with so far. I'm putting the NPC teams up for you all to see for feedback and what-not. Some spoilers are implied since some NPCs listed here have yet to appear... The number beside the NPCs Trainer Name is the total base stats of the pokemons they have. Attempted range is within 2950-3200 although a few dip a bit higher and lower, especially for those with more prominent plot-roles. I have also included the stats for the custom pokemons. Note, that I'm still waiting for a profile for Jeanette's pokemons and Violet's form (or to be asked to make one for them. :3) NPCs' Pokemon Teams Pokemons already taken in Pokebrid forms: On other news, I asked some questions to AB and got some answers. *QUESTION* Regarding moves like Stealth Rock, Toxic Spikes and that sort of thing, do they work on all foes on the field or only on selected spots? I think it would be a good idea if they effected the entire field, given that otherwise the moves would do too little for the time it takes to lay them out and thus have little value given the huge battlefield size. (Although they could feasibly do the same to us unless we had a way to remove like like Rapid Spin). *ANSWER ABOUT TRAP MOVES* Full battlefield doesn't sound gamebreaking. However, that would effect enemy reinforcements as well as your characters and Pokemon when switched out with Enforcers, and I think that won't be too much of an issue. Sounds expected, right? *I assume he means that switch in traps only effect one side (the opposing side, DUMMY!), but they effect both pokemons and pokebrids/Slayers that step on the field when switched in instead of just pokemons. If so, that sounds logical and cool.* *QUESTION* What happens if Ditto is sent out and there is no selectable pokemons or pokebrid forms to mimic? (I can only assume you wouldn't allow Ditto to mimic a Ruin General or Pokeweapon or something) Also could a Ditto choose to copy an ally instead of being limited to copying a foe? At least that means there is never a reason why Ditto is unable to contribute, even if all the foes are unsuitable targets for transformation. *ANSWER REGARDING DITTO* That's a tough one. I'm thinking that Ditto should be able to mimic Ruin Pokemon with some exceptions (can't mimic an Atunhand and turn a corpse into a Juggernaut, for example), though I intend to make so that there will be a lot of Pokemon-based enemies for Ditto to mimic, assuming you all don't kill 'em fast. Ditto should be allowed to mimic allies. Oh, you can also have Ditto mimic Pokebrids and PokeWeapons, (Do you mean Pokemercs?) and you can decide which moves of that Pokebrid or Pokemerc form you want Ditto to have. Additionally, if Ditto's not the Leader Pokemon and he does mimic one, you'll have to choose four of the six that the leader has. I'm also asking this: *QUESTION* How will Sleep Talk work on a Pokebrid? Personally, I think Sleep Talk should allow us to choose the move we want to use instead of it being random. Sleep status is already hard to control unless you use Rest, and that takes up a turn, so that's already quite a bit of a hurdle. Allowing the ability to choose the moves while sleeptalking gives some pokemons another unique avenue to fight while taking out the frustration of randomization for both the players and the GM (who has to find SOME way to randomly choose out of all of those moves). ^^ On a side note, many legendaries not listed above are being made available to choose for teams (AB had them assigned but changed his mind on a bunch). However, there are few restrictions. Mew, Lugia, Cressilia, Darkrai: All owned by villain and not to come to our hands any time soon. Mewtwo: Owned by a different villain. Reshiram: Cause I'm replacing my Magnezone with him. Zekrom: Presumably because Drac is going to take him. Victini: Reserved for Matthias as a form. Manaphy: Owned by Regina ANYHOW, once I get people's feedback and things look ok to proceed, I'll run up some movesets, items and stats (need to hand-crank all the pokemon's hitpoints stats according to our modified system. Not a problem though). Anyhow, I'm off to work. See you all later! |
Yes, I mean Pokemercs, sorry.
And you're right on the trap moves. Good lookin' out. Honestly, I don't understand Sleep Talk and when it concerns a Pokebrid, it's just insane. How did talking in one's sleep become an attack, anyways? Unless the talking itself is an attack (like Growl or even Sing), I don't think a character who is asleep should be able to use a Thunderbolt or Psychic. 'Cause all yer doing is sleeping. Then again, maybe it's just the name that I have a problem with. If they call it Sleep Action, I wouldn't have a problem. Allowing Pokebrids to use their moves like usual during sleep because of Sleep Talk is fine, under one condition: no Rage gains when attacking. For the same reason of having difficulty when choosing a move, I hope nobody decides to have their Pokemon use Metronome. Not sure why anyone would. The only time I ever had a Pokemon use Metronome was when Metronome was the only possible way it could attack an enemy (hey, it works, it's just shitty) outside of Struggle. |
^^ Once in my gameboy game, I had my Togepi fighting against Gardenia the grass leader once all my other pokemons were knocked out. Tried using Metronome while I was in a pinch. Ended up with Sacred Fire on the grass type. ^^ Gotta love it when a gamble goes your way.
But yes, it's unpredictable and randomness is something you usually want to minimize. For the purpose of this RP, choosing a random move is nigh impossible to do with any degree of ease. I personally won't be putting that move in anyone's movesets. Anyhow, to explain what is meant by sleep-talk, you could also replace it with "Sleep-walk" or any other sort of action where your mind subconsciously is acting without full knowledge. >_> There are many real life examples and many rumors too such as the guy who was accused of raping someone and his only "defense" was that he was asleep if he did it, and thus has no recollection of the act. Anyhow, I digress... Anyhow, Sleep Talk has a neat trick with a certain someone with an Ursauring with Guts ability (Increases your attack stat when afflicted with a status condition). Ursauring falls asleep with Rest and heal up any damage it took and triggers Guts ability. When he uses Sleep Talk, he selects one of his other moves, Facade which does double damage when the user has a status affliction. So basically, the moveset has a Gut boosted Ursauring using a move that is 140 power before STAB bonus, and whom can't be stopped in combat by putting it to sleep. (It makes him stronger in fact!) Alternatively, one can put it on a Milotic, and increase its defense when it is asleep (Marvel Scale ability), making it even more difficult to knock out. ^^ |
Ok, there has been no response to my list of pokemons for NPCs, so I'll go ahead and start with coming up with the movesets, as we wait for Drac's big post which will hopefully be completed soon.
|
I'll need to see what Dracorion posts so that I know what to post as well.
*snicker* Hey, you guys wanna do another RP while we wait for Dracorion? We might even finish it by the time Dracorion posts, wa ha ha ha! I'm thinking of a very silly omake RP called Pokemon Umbral: The Sealed Missions. Battles would be freeform (takes a lot less time and lets us get creative), the missions would be downright absurd... Congressman: "The president has been kidnapped by ninjas!" President Andricksen: "HEEEEEEELLLLLLP!!" Rayleen: "Agents are...gooooooooo!" Just a wacky idea I had. Don't pay it much mind unless you think it's actually a good idea. Then I'd have to get serious about it. |
I'd kinda worry that Drac would then join the omake and not do the post we're all waiting for him to do. :3 And I wouldn't want to start an omake RP and ban him from joining until he get it done or something crazy/mean-spirited like that. ^^;
|
It never happened.
Quote:
Ever. edit: I've seen worse Ideas. |
Hm.
It might be nice, rather than having it be omake, just making it into Umbral Lite. You know, just silliness and shenanigans and freeform. I mean, PATCA is like SWAT, right? So they've probably gone on a lot more missions than just Ruin pokemon stuff. We could have some short, fun missions that may or may not involve the battle system, and we could have silly shenanigans inside the agency without having to wait like eight months for an intermission. |
A nice easy going tension killer.
|
And yes, one of the missions would be showing that we're bad enough dudes to save the President.
|
It is a nice idea, isn't it?
I kinda thought of it as a way to flesh out the buffet of NPCs. And Dracorion's idea for a title is awesome. Umbral Lite, it is. Or wait, UmbraLite. There we go, effin' perfect. I'll create it this weekend assuming y'all weren't kidding about the whole thing. I even have the first villain planned out. The character's going to be so silly that Team Rocket's Jessie and James will need to take notes. |
Interesting. Although I'm hoping the actual RP won't slow to a stop.
BTW, when does this Umbral Lite takes place Chronologically? And do we consider it all canon? On another note, abilities and modified hitpoints have pretty much been completed for the data-base. Just sorting out gender and then the tough part of move-sets/items. |
It has some chronological flow to it, but loosely, kinda like "this happened between Mission 3 and Pierce's Sidequest" thing.
And I do intend for it to be canonical despite its utter silliness. |
Ah. Renny around that time would be in human form. Not a problem though. ^^
BTW, I've left messages for you with questions. |
Would we play as just the usual Cast of characters, or different dudes entirely?
|
You could create new characters, and probably have them join the main party if you so desire.
Hell, create a whole wacky squad of dysfunctional misfits with weapons. Menarker, I'll get to those questions soon. Promise. Oh, incidentally, would you be interested in working on the new Pokemon with me? I was kinda thinking of coming up with name, type(s), Pokedex entry, some moves (while leaving the floor open for the rest of you to decide some moves for them), and where they would specialize stat-wise. If you're interested, I was thinking about asking you to assign actual statistics to them based on my recommendations. If you don't, it's cool. No problem with working on these myself. I'm jus' putting it out there since you seem to like Pokemon tweaking. |
Sure, I'll be happy enough to help. ^^
In case you haven't noticed already, I provided some help already with new pokemons. I listed all the types combination that did not exist yet. All in the messages. :3 |
I came up with a really stupid idea while chatting with Menarker.
Maybe instead of a PATCA-based UmbraLite, we could actually do a more traditional Pokemon RP which the same level of wackiness. It'll still be UmbraLite, using low level statistics with small groups to create speedy, small scale, humorous battles. The idea is that you're all young kids who just reached the age to go on a journey, though the Pokebrid and Slayer classes will also be available in addition to the Pokemon Trainer. You meet Professor Ricewood, the Trainers collect their Honmyr original starters, and go on an epic journey, fighting strange enemies and whatnot, with low level Pokemon and everything. Just stop me if I'm being a weird boy again. EDIT: I guess nobody likes the idea. Oh, well. Menarker, I came up with the first nine entries of the Honmyr Pokedex. Here are the rough drafts of them... Honmyr Pokedex Guide 1. Snapdry 2. Draflora 3. Mandragor 4. Firefur 5. Charabid 6. Fiernarog 7. Segrift 8. Aerochnid 9. Abysslayer * Starter Pokemon & Evolutions - 1. Snapdry (Grass) [Biting Plant Pokemon] Pokedex Entry: Feeds on a rather steady diet of small bug Pokemon. They usually hunt alone and only at night unless their only choice of prey happens to be a more powerful foe. Evolutionary Line: Snapdry > Draflora > Mandragor Moves: Acid, Bite, Draco Meteor, Dragon Claw, Dragon Rush, Flail, Flash Cannon, Frenzy Plant, Leaf Blade, Leaf Storm, Outrage, Shadow Ball, Synthesis Ability: Overgrow Statistic Potential: HP=2, Att=2, Def=2, SpAtt=2, SpDef=2, Spd=3 - 2. Draflora (Grass/Dragon) [Floral Predator Pokemon] Pokedex Entry: Draflora have moved up from dining on various Bug types. They are known to hunt down Pokemon as large as adult humans. Evolutionary Line: Snapdry < Draflora > Mandragor Moves: Acid, Bite, Draco Meteor, Dragon Claw, Dragon Rush, Flail, Flash Cannon, Frenzy Plant, Leaf Blade, Leaf Storm, Outrage, Shadow Ball, Synthesis Ability: Overgrow Statistic Potential: HP=2, Att=3, Def=3, SpAtt=3, SpDef=3, Spd=4 - 3. Mandragor (Grass/Dragon) [Forest King Pokemon] Pokedex Entry: Known to protect forests from those who would destroy them since ancient times. Mandragor are capable of living for over a thousand years and occasionally reach incredible size. Evolutionary Line: Snapdry < Draflora < Mandragor Moves: Acid, Bite, Draco Meteor, Dragon Claw, Dragon Rush, Flail, Flash Cannon, Frenzy Plant, Leaf Blade, Leaf Storm, Outrage, Shadow Ball, Synthesis Ability: Overgrow Statistic Potential: Hp=3, Att=3, Def=4, SpAtt=3, SpDef=4, Spd=5 - 4. Firefur (Fire) [Fiery Dog Pokemon] Pokedex Entry: These red, unhealthy beasts are difficult to tame, but fierce allies under the right trainer. They use their own surprising internal heat to forge their large claws and cook their slaughtered victims. Evolutionary Line: Firefur > Charabid > Fiernarog Moves: Cross Poison, Crunch, Dig, Earthquake, Fire Fang, Flamethrower, Gastro Acid, Gunk Shot, Inferno, Magnitude, Overheat, Poison Fang Ability: Blaze Statistic Potential: HP=2, Att=3, Def=2, SpAtt=2, SpDef=2, Spd=2 - 5. Charabid (Fire/Poison) [Rabid Dog Pokemon] Pokedex Entry: Their exhalations are visible and toxic and their saliva can eat holes into flesh. Charabid are extremely aggressive, can smell a victim from over a mile away, and will chase their prey for days on end. Evolutionary Line: Firefur < Charabid > Fiernarog Moves: Cross Poison, Crunch, Dig, Earthquake, Fire Fang, Flamethrower, Gastro Acid, Gunk Shot, Inferno, Magnitude, Overheat, Poison Fang Ability: Blaze Statistical Potential: HP=3, Att=4, Def=2, SpAtt=3, SpDef=2, Spd=3 - 6. Fiernarog (Fire/Poison) [Demon Hound Pokemon] Pokedex Entry: With dangerous toxins dripping from their superheated fangs, a grazing bite from one of them will be a memory never forgotten. A hungry Fiernarog can easily depopulate a small village, leaving only burning carnage in its wake. Evolutionary Line: Firefur < Charabid < Fiernarog Moves: Cross Poison, Crunch, Dig, Earthquake, Fire Fang, Flamethrower, Gastro Acid, Gunk Shot, Inferno, Magnitude, Overheat, Poison Fang Ability: Blaze Statistical Potential: HP=4, Att=5, Def=3, SpAtt=4, SpDef=2, Spd=3 - 7. Segrift (Water) [Drifting Pokemon] Pokedex Entry: Often seen in colonies drifting along ocean currents. Their specially-created spider webs can catch both sea and air currents, allowing it to fly above the ocean surface in order to avoid oceanic predators like Sharpedo. Evolutionary Line: Segrift > Aerochnid > Abysslayer Moves: Aqua Jet, BubbleBeam, Bug Bite, Extrasensory, Gust, Hydro Cannon, Ice Beam, Icicle Crash, Muddy Water, Rain Dance, Scald, Spider Web Ability: Torrent Statistical Potential: HP=2, Att=2, Def=2, SpAtt=3, SpDef=2, Spd=2 - 8. Aerochnid (Water/Bug) [Drifting Dread Pokemon] Pokedex Entry: When Segrift evolve, they leave the ocean, rarely returning to fill up on water. They instead remain aloft for days, even months or years, changing their diet from small fish to larger birds. Evolutionary Line: Segrift < Aerochnid > Abysslayer Moves: Aqua Jet, BubbleBeam, Bug Bite, Extrasensory, Gust, Hydro Cannon, Ice Beam, Icicle Crash, Muddy Water, Rain Dance, Scald, Spider Web Ability: Torrent Statistical Potential: HP=3, Att=3, Def=2, SpAtt=4, SpDef=2, Spd=3 - 9. Abysslayer (Water/Bug) [Whale Eater Pokemon] Pokedex Entry: When Aerochnid finally evolve once more, they return to the ocean and remain there, hunting deep sea Pokemon up to and including Wailord with their flesh-rending mandibles and berserker-like aggressiveness. They do this to establish themselves as top predators in the sea. Evolutionary Line: Segrift < Aerochnid < Abysslayer Moves: Aqua Jet, BubbleBeam, Bug Bite, Extrasensory, Gust, Hydro Cannon, Ice Beam, Icicle Crash, Muddy Water, Rain Dance, Scald, Spider Web Ability: Torrent Statistical Potential: HP=4, Att=4, Def=3, SpAtt=5, SpDef=3, Spd=3 No, this isn't all the moves available to each. If you ask questions about this being all their moves, I'll have a Necromorph jump out of a vent in the RP, kill you before you can react, and flee, never to be seen again, and we'll all be left wondering what the hell it was. This is the idea I have for the setup of these new Pokemon. I'm not sure how many Pokemon I intend to really create but I really wanna create 150 of them. ... Maybe even make a Pokerap. I'm not sure. So, uhhh, any questions so far? |
I guess no questions at this point.
Drac, how have you been holding up lately? Everything ok on your end? EDIT: I realized something that is totally crazy... >_> Shedinja's Pokedex details are as follows: Ruby version: Shedinja's hard body doesn't move - not even a twitch. In fact, its body appears to be merely a hollow shell. It is believed that this Pokémon will steal the spirit of anyone peering into its hollow body from its back. Pearl/Diamond/Platinum/Black/White: A discarded bug shell that came to life. Peering into the crack on its back is said to steal one's spirit. And yet in the games (and presumably any time you send a pokemon out to battle since trainers are facing directly opposite of each other when fighting) Shedinja's back is always facing the trainer that sends it out! >_< Jesus, talk about suicidally reckless! Makes me wonder how the Dark and Whitney didn't lose their souls already. ^^; Then again, one would wonder why Shedinja doesn't just instant win the battle by having it fight backwards and showing off its back to its opponent... or the opposing trainer. :3 A Shedinja pokebrid would be a pest if that pokedex article was true... ... on that line of thought, I wonder what would happen with a pokebrid that chooses a pokemon that could learn self-destruct/explosion. Geesh, probably taken by suicidal and sterotypical emo people... |
Don't give me ideas, Menarker. That's a very dangerous road you're trekkin'.
Shannon: "So this one time, at band camp, I took a flute and I blew on it, and this magical tornado sent me to World 6." ... Please don't ask. I dunno, either. |
Shedninja's 'steal your soul' thing is probably just folklore.
Quote:
|
I figured, but one does wonder where the basis for the folklore came from... Assuming that it isn't indeed fiction.
And yet everyone will have to suffer in silence lest Charlotte overhears them grumbling, wishing she was replaced with him and she adds said person on her shitlist. :3 Sounds neat though. ^^ |
Quote:
Already thinking up the character. Probably a Xatu pokebrid. |
All that folklore was probably created a long time ago when people were still scared of their shadows, lived in caves and believed that they invented dirt.
I think Pokedex entries were designed to be utterly ridiculous. Check out Torterra's Platinum entry... "Some Pokemon are born on a Torterra's back and spend their entire life there." If that's the case, why the hell am I bothering with tall grass when my starter's back is its own little Safari Zone? |
Quote:
|
I wouldn't worry too much about that, Menarker. Fighting as a Xatu Pokebrid and being a trainer with a Xatu Pokemon is pretty different on its own.
I guess this just means that I should have a wide variety of Honmyr Pokemon to go 'round. |

Update!
I sent a PM to our good buddy Dracorion. This weekend, Pokemon Umbral will move forward whether he does this post or not. I've offered to assist with the post writing and everything, but that's pretty much the best I can do for him. I'm sure everyone wants to get along with things. So, if Dracorion doesn't type up a post this weekend, then I'm taking his last post and using that to determine the party's interaction with Pierce and then usher the group along to the next fight without Pierce in tow. This should allow Dracorion to still do his post and catch up, an opportunity that will expire when the shit really hits the fan (the lab a-splode). I'll also create UmbraLite this weekend (it'll be about PATCA instead of new trainers), finish up the characters, work on some 'mons, and hopefully actually be able to do everything I just typed in this paragraph. What? I'm a lazy fucker, too. So sayeth the Bishoujo. |
Well hell.
A deadline is exactly what I need. |
You have 1 hour to finish the RP.
|
And then Pierce killed himself.
|
Bard said finish not improve.
|
Tick-tock
|
And then Matthias is revealed to be the reincarnation of Primal Exist and the show is cancelled for the crime of sucking.
|
RIGHT on time.
|
So, about this sequel...
Since Dante was revealed to be Primal Exist, the RP's sequel has been thrown completely off track. Now it's about a French-speaking Quagsire named Mitsie's Professor Layton-ish adventures which started out with trying to go to the local convenience store for some saltines and Dr Pepper. |
Well that threw my sidequest off track.....You've already discovered the secret....
New sidequest. Lola is going to become evil, rant about spiral races and how they will doom the galaxy and we'll get mecha the size of the moon. Also I'll start ranting about fighting spirit. |
Just be sure you know that when you rant about fighting spirit, you'll need glowing eyes and a radiant aura.
And a background with a lot of kanji and speed lines. Yeah, that's the stuff. |

Lola...
Evil... Shannon: "Gee, Lola. What are we going to do tonight?" Lola: "The same thing we do every night, Shannie." Shannon: "Setting puppies and orphans on fire? I was hoping we could kind of spice things up a little." Lola: "Well, then how about taping explosives onto babies and dropping them off bridges so the explosions blow out the supports and cause the vehicles to tumble into the river?" Shannon: "That's what we did on Labor Day." Lola: "...Try to convince Armored Bishoujo to use Justin Bieber songs as the background music for battles?" Shannon: "Ye gods, Lola! Doest thine evil truely know not a single bound?!" Lola: "Gotta keep my pimp hand strong." ... Hmmm... Menarker, I'm getting cravings. |
:ohdear: That does not look good at all... Don't go making character personalities go 180 for little to no reason!
On other news, I'm still working with the database movelist and all that. Of particular note is Kiyomi's Electrode. To those not informed on its new ability, it's Dreamworld ability is Aftermath, which is frankly put a revenge attack on whoever knocked it out for 25% of said foe's maximum health. The means to that presumably being Electrode's twitchy hair-trigger explosive body. It'll be useful so that it will always do a significant amount of damage unless it gets knocked out through indirect means like poison. So, I gave it the Taunt move, which forces a target to only be able to use attacking moves. No buff moves, no item moves, nothing like that. (It will have some uses in preventing enemy medics from healing enemy foes or engineeers from constructing)... Then I imagined that Taunting twitchy round ball of explosive hate with South Park's Eric Cartman's voice. (Come to think of it, the fat asshole is pretty round too!) Cart-trode: "Come get a piece of this, you son of bitches!" Enemy Soldier 1: "You piece of shit!" *Starts running toward him, blade in arm as Cart-trode smiles gleefully before Soldier 2 tackles his comrade.* Enemy Soldier 2: "NO! DON'T! That's exactly what he wants!" Cart-trode: *Faking sincere worried voice* Oh, what's wrong? PUSSY! *Nasty voice* You ain't got no balls like me! *Drum-roll for the awful pun.* Soldier 1: "Don't stop me! I want to beat the shit out that asshole!" Cart-trode: "Go ahead! I'll blow YOUR ass to kingdom come!" *His round body twitching lightly with minor jolts of electricity hinting to his very volatile state* Soldier 1: "You're bluffing. You wouldn't blow yourself up..." *Raises his blade to his partner's protest* Cart-trode: *Eyes shut ultra tight as if constipated and shouting violently in his tantrum ways, his body definately jolting!* "I'LL DO IT! DON'T FUCK WITH ME, BITCH! I'LL DO IT!" Soldier 2: "Oh SHIT, he'll really do it!" *Runs off leaving his partner behind before he gets caught in the blast too* ^.^ Yeah. |
At least Lola could never be as evil as Kirby.
|
If that's the case, it's extremely fortunate that we're starting an incredibly silly side-RP where anything could happen.
I mean, Impact might actually get laid in it! |
You think Impact has/had the chance of getting laid shortly after mission 3 canonically?
AB said weird missions not bizzaro world! :3 |
Fair point.
But Lola could definitely go evil, and Renny might actually turn out to be straight. |
Look on the bright side, Menarker. If Lola does go evil, there's a 97.2% chance that you'll be able to see her wearing tight black leather.
|
I'd say Lola in tight black leather would make Renny straight.
But slightly more seriously now, if we're going to have silly missions there's no reason now not to have Lola go evil for a little while. And all other sorts of crazy shit, like Discord hugging a puppy. |
You seem to miss the concept of canonical. Unless she was under the influence of some mind alteration like being drunk or whatnot. I can understand if she starts getting reacting to bad situations/people by being pissed off or mean-spirited as a temporary thing (everyone got bad days), but a completely opposite allignment change from love freak to evilness is not really plausible without some powerful outside influence which comes right out of left field. ^^; That said, I'm just nitpicking a bit.
Also. she's already wearing black garters and lingerie. ^^ And Renny is straight from the start. Just hasn't got any action beyond hugs and nervously/platonically sharing a bed with 5 ladies. Ah well. I'm more looking forward to seeing some of the other NPCs get fleshed out in more details. Like Angelo, Laurith, Heidi and a bunch of the others whom we never took with us for the big missions or having just got revealed. |
Lucian: "Y'know, Discord used to like really cute things."
Charlotte: "Bullshit." Lucian: "No, seriously. Look, here's a picture of her in a flower field, hugging a puppy and...and wearing a white dress!" Charlotte: "That's fucking photoshopped." Lucian: "...Okay, yeah, you're right, it is photoshopped. Don't tell Discord about this, would you?" Charlotte: "Ha ha ha. Fat chance, asshole. I'm blackmailing the shit out of you for this. I always wanted a manservant." Lucian: "In hindsight, trading service to Discord for service to Charlotte is something of a step up for me." Charlotte: "I don' t'ink 'e know me vewy well, do 'e?" The whole evil Lola thing would be cool, but it's so horribly cliched. I can see the plotline now... 1. During the sequel, Renny and Lola are isolated from the rest of the party and Impact traps them near the edge of a cliff over the ocean with lotsa pointy rocks. 2. Impact monologues for 5.62 minutes, then shoots Renny. 3. Lola shoves Renny out of the way, taking the bullet for him and tumbling off of the cliff into the ocean. 4. Renny, filled with relentless fury, recklessly attacks Impact but is sorely beaten until near death. 5. Renny is found by Whitney (or some other hot chick) and resusitated. 6. Renny finds a boat and tries to find Lola, to no avail. 7. He hangs on to a dim hope that Lola is alive since he never found her body. 8. Whitney (or some other hot chick) continues to comfort the desperate Renny and feelings between the two begin to develop. 9. Just as it seems that Renny would forget about Lola and find a new love with the new woman, he overhears about this new sexy lieutenant. 10. This lieutenant is described as having pink hair, large breasts, wedding band on right ring finger (Renny would remember something like that). 11. Renny gathers his courage and infiltrates some base somewhere. 12. Renny finds evil sexy leather-clad Lola. 13. Renny hugs her. 14. She hits him. 15. Renny is confused and the two are locked into a battle where Renny is on the defensive as he couldn't ever bring himself to hurt his one true love. 16. Renny is beaten severely, but manages to get out a monologue about loving her and wanted to live in a perfect house with lots of kids. 17. The evil power controlling Lola is broken and they are reunited. 18. Whitney (or some other hot chick) is heartbroken. 19. Impact takes advantage of Whitney (or some other hot chick) and turns her evil. 20. Stupidity ensues and Renny gets way too much spotlight. 21. The RP is bought up by Nintendo for their one-hundred-eighth Pokemon movie. Gawd, the sugary sweetness of that plotline alone is enough to make me gag. |
Well, it's silly missions. The stories don't have to be good at all.
And obviously evil Lola would only last for like the one mission. It'd just be for shits and giggles. |
So RE5 then?
|
It definately look excessively derivative when summed up like that. :3
A question just occurred to me all the sudden. We know that Impact gave or was going to give Charlotte leadership recently (or was in the process of doing so as of this post.) However, since that post, there has never really been an acknowledgement of Charlotte's supposed new status or any clarification on Impact's motivation for wanting to give up his position (since getting a high military position was one of his big goals) or why he passed it to Charlotte specifically out of all other alternatives. At first, I figured it would be alluded to in a flashback from Gem, but with his more or less permanent retirement I'm kinda left wondering. Has it actually happened yet? Do you AB or Bard know about those specifics and if so, do or can your characters know those details in character as well? (I'm not saying that it SHOULD be revealed now, but I'm just curious if it is details that's been forgotten or details waiting to be elaborated on at a later point. Of course, there is also the Chosen One details, but it doesn't look like Impact knows about that in-character, since I don't think he met Eldys yet, so his motivation can't really be to give away his position to make room for Chosen One status... It makes me curious... >_> and worried if Charlotte starts lording over her new authority, much to everyone's dismay including anyone in her party... like Matthias... :ohdear: |
Matt made a comment about the psycho being leader. Me and Gem spoke about it, but I can't fully remember the details as to why Impact gave her the leadership. As for why Charlotte accepted? She'll lie if asked. She may lord over someone depending on the situation.
|
The friction between Matt and Charlotte will definitely escalate should she be leader. He's ok with everyone but her.
|
And she hates everyone but him!
Honestly, that is actually closer the the truth than you'd think. She appreciates his lack of speaking. He is remarkably low on the shit-list compared to others as of now. EXCERPT FROM THE DIARY OF CHARLOTTE BEAUFORT ...so I was like, this close to breaking all of his fingers one by one, but then Impact stepped in. Jackass. I swear if Granger pulls something like that again I'll take him down Impact with him. My co-workers are so annoying. Why can't PATCA just let me set shit on fire without them? Its not hard at all. Renny's just distracting, Pierce is a douche, Impact is boring(better than Pierce I guess), and the others are just insane. The bug dude is tolerable I guess. I think his name is Matt or something. He doesn't say much, which is more than can be said than the rest of them. I guess I'll put up with them until this Faynoc stuff is done though, killin' and whatnot. Anyways, poker night tomorrow. If.... |
You could always try asking Impact in character about it.
Incidentally, if you seem to have a question that involves something in-character, it couldn't hurt you to try asking in the RP. If it's impossible to find out why in the RP, either ask in these threads or just drop the topic entirely...or hang onto it until an opportunity presents itself. That way, your character knows why as well as the player does. 'Cause knowledge is power! |
>_> Oh geez. This is an interesting situation.
Matthias is skillful but silent. He hates Charlotte antics and while she isn't terribly fond of him, she doesn't hate him back. She's in charge and he suffers some of the aftermath and has to go along with it, while he's entirely not pleased with the ways things are going... Her perchance for indiscriminate destruction/cruelty runs completely counter to how he operates and yet he can't do a thing about it but bear it as he does the dirty work... Matthias is thus closest to being Charlotte's Beleaguered Assistant despite her not being nearly incompetent as Zapp Brannigan or many of the other examples listed on the page... ^^; EDIT: And I'm just asking in curiousity, because I don't think Renny is aware that the chain of command changed from Impact to Charlotte, so unless there is a real why Renny knows that much and still wants to learn more, I can't really ask in the RP. (Also, Renny is currently in the middle of an attempt to talk to Whitney and isn't just going to break that off all the sudden to ask an unrelated question) Not that it bugs me entirely. I can wait for something more conclusive like an in-RP official annoucement or something. EDIT: Now that I think of it, I would actually be suprised if Charlotte didn't try anything to Pierce when she sees him. I mean, from the looks of that diary above, she's pissed with Pierce's solo foray and she's probably already got him down on her shitlist for getting plastered, kissing her and being otherwise a pest to her personally. I don't think she is the forgiving type or willing to give very many chances. :3 |
I'm totally waiting for the opportunity to have Charlotte say "Let him burn in the grave he dug himself" right when he shows up behind her.
|
If Pierce sneaks up behind her, Charlotte wouldn't be able to say anything.
|
Cause you're totally going to be aware that she's wanting to badmouth you and wanting to sneak in instead of approaching your allies and making your presence known.
Also, your sneaking skills are so extreme that you can slip past the notice of everyone else in the room, whose collective vision probably covers pretty much the entire section. Right... |
