Post your haul!

Dunno about you bitches, but we be early risers up in this bitch, and hence have already finished present openings and things (as well as the tradition of eating cinnamon rolls and oh my god cinnamon rolls nnnnnngh)

So, as is NPF's christmas tradition, this is the present posting thread!

I received a wonderful array of items, in part I think due to the fact that my parents no longer have any children living at home as of this year, and so probably have a lot more spare income.

The highlights of my list include:

A very nice survival knife (I had one that I used for all sorts of tasks, and it broke, so I needed a new one. This is the one I got. The knife is very nice, but honestly the sheath is kinda shit. Might get a new one, or just reinforce this one with some leather and metal.)

One of those folding utility knife thingies which is all kinds of awesome. Very sturdy.

A nice drill gun (deWalt, 18V)

A racquetball racquet (was having to rent from the rec centre, and their racquets are terrible) and some balls

The best t-shirt

A few other small things, a nice coat, some drill bits, some very nice jeans (carhart, I think), a hot glue gun.

Oh! And a 32" flatscreen for my apartment.

I feel somewhat spoiled in posting this. This is a completely inordinate amount of awesome things. This was a good christmas.

Lessons learned this year:
1. Christmas is better when you aren't a child and can appreciate things.
2. Tools are the best presents.

Melfice 12-25-2011 12:24 PM

Absolutely nothing but a nice dinner cooked by my mother.

Kim 12-25-2011 12:50 PM

Got the remastered version of Utena Volume 1, a $25 Gamestop gift card, Evangelion 1.11 in BluRay, Evangelion 2.22 in BluRay, Super Mario 3D Land, some biscotti, and some hot chocolate.

This is humerous to me as your post has a timestamp of 5.14PM.

As for the question; money, booze, chocolate. Woo Christmas/sarcasm

Betty Elms 12-25-2011 01:19 PM

A few cases of Faygo, face paint, tickets for the gathering, some sweet fuckin hatchet merch, 19th century russian literature, the same things I ask for every year pretty much.

CABAL49 12-25-2011 01:22 PM

Absolutely nothing cause I am five thousand miles from home.

A Zarkin' Frood 12-25-2011 01:25 PM

Nothing (Money)

Doc ock rokc 12-25-2011 01:29 PM

I got a digital recorder that is Dragon compatible. So I never need to write notes again and I can keep up with ideas/schedules

Another Rubic's cube. which is FANTASTIC as the last one broke a few months ago due to over use

A VERY awesome batman tshirt done by my favorite comic book artiest a comfy woolly green sweater a nice new pair of blue jeans

The HD Remake of Ico & Shadow of the Colossus

A electric trimmer

and the Autobiography/biography of Steve Jobs (which came from no where as I really didn't like Steve that much)

mauve 12-25-2011 03:02 PM

A knitted headband with a big ol' flower on it
A necklace with a tiny little birdcage
A big sparkly purple scarf/pashmina thingie
A green hooded vest
An iPod Nano (because my iPod Mini finally broke this March and nobody will fix it cuz they stopped making Minis years ago)
A coupon for an item from either ThinkGeek or the Valve Store. This one will take a LOT OF THOUGHT. :(

And the best thing: A paper bag puppet shaped like Admiral Ackbar that my sister made for me as a gag gift. He is GLORIOUS and I ADORE HIM. Yelling "IT'S A TRAP" is so much more fun when it involves making squeaky voices and waving a puppet around in peoples' faces.

Also: A lot of candy. SO MUCH CANDY.

Arcanum 12-25-2011 03:20 PM

A bunch of a new t-shirts and collared (casual) shirts, which is fantastic since my wardrobe has been ridiculously small lately. Also a coat and a zip-up sweater.

A bottle of Crown Royal and this box that came with a mickey of rye whiskey, vodka, spiced rum, and a booklet with a bunch of drinks you can make.

Arkham City and Sonic Generations.

Gift certificates to the local mall.

And finally an assorted bunch of chocolates and candy, including a full-sized Toblerone.

On this note I got a real nice edition of Oblomov. but I don't have room in my bag to take it home so the perso who gave it to me is going to look after it for me. Which was basically their plan all along.
Aside from that I got nothing but some smokes.

Solid Snake 12-25-2011 04:50 PM

So far, it's: Ski jacket, shirts, socks, Louie Season 1 DVD, sneakers, a freaking sweet $100 set of high-quality earphones, and Assassin's Creed Revelations.

Oh and apparently Atlus gave me a Yosuke P4 romance for Christmas which is freaking awesome, thank you Atlus. Now please erase all evidence of the existence of the P4 anime and you will have given me the best Christmas presents ever.

Locke cole 12-25-2011 05:22 PM

A Nintendo 3DS, a copy of Super Mario 3D Land, a copy of Sin And Punishment: Star Successor, a sketchbook, a book on perspective, a poseable art manikin, a copy of Inheritance, a copy of A Feast For Crows, All of Princess Tutu (better than the name suggests) on DVD, a rolling alarm clock (as in, it rolls away from you so that you can't catch it without actually waking up), gift cards for Starbucks and Barnes & Noble, and 2* Homestuck God-Tier hoodies (Void and Doom)

*Actually, we have five. Some sort of shopping cart or shipping error got us three more (2X Space, 1X Rage). My brother's keeping one of the Space ones, and we're gonna attempt to return the other two.

Ecks 12-25-2011 05:55 PM

I wound up with a copy of Mario Kart 7, a God Tier Breath tee, some homemade sweets courtesy my mother, and one I haven't opened yet.

the Hark! A Vagrant book
Gundam Epyon model kit

As I've already mentioned and apologized for, I got a nifty Wacom tablet like I've been dreaming of since I was in high school, so that gets a line break to itself.

I also got a new belt, a depressing book, a bunch of gift cards for food and other not-foods, a new hoody jacket, more food, candy, groceries, a whole day with my nephews and nieces, and a knee & elbow injury to go along with it from playing basketball.

Also, I got the mental image of Mauve wearing all this at once.

Hatake Kakashi 12-26-2011 05:37 AM

I got a bit this year as well.

A remote control caddy for my new apartment.
An antique wall clock set into a Japanese fan.
Several Asian-themed wall decorations.
Four jars of home-brewed spiced and spiked honey flavored with brandy, blackstrap rum?, fresh lemons, cinnamon and cloves.
A jar of homemade apple butter.
A jar of peanut M&Ms and a gift card for the theater for making the closest guess as to how many M&Ms were in the jar (I was two off).
A $25 Gamestop Gift Card. Anyone know if you can use those for online purchases?
A dashboard Anti-Road-Rage angel.
A sweet antique ceramic Japanese mug whose writings I will translate later in my studies.
A deck of really old-looking Japanese playing cards. Still looking for the date on them.
An old Japanese card-wallet.
An old Japanese paper fan.
Three identical knit sweaters (originally intended to be one, but my mother accidentally bought three, which is freakin' sweet, cause they look really classy).
A Christmas Candy Cane Puzzle Set, containing a "Beginner Puzzle" (broken into 6 pieces), an "Intermediate Puzzle" (24 Pieces), and an "Advanced Puzzle" (973,454 pieces).
Some really awesome Japanese basket-weave laminated coasters.
A Chinese Cook Book (for variety).
A bottle of Bacon Soda.
An Angry Birds plushie.
A pair of Korean Brass Hot Plates.
A musical party tie.
A rather kickass necklace.
Tons of baked goodies.
A pack of Cat's Butt Chewing Gum (8 Pieces of Kiss My Ass attitude!).
A Big Turk Bar (Anyone know what Turkish Delight is?).
A Root Beer Candy Cane.
A Gallon of Egg Nog.
And an awesome dinner with my mother, my sister, her husband, my nieces, and our friends. I feel blessed.

Fifthfiend 12-26-2011 05:51 AM

The Galaxy Nexus i'm gonna say is maybe one entire percent of the way to being a Motherbox.

Amake 12-26-2011 08:32 AM

Money, more money, a gift card, a knife set, a How I Met Your Mother box and a couple of board games. Chess is the bomb, yo.

I accidentally got my brother a Star Wars collection on blue ray that he's going to have to watch at my place so maybe that counts as my haul too.

My mom won Christmas by making clothes for everyone (except me). Clothes are the best presents.

Revising Ocelot 12-26-2011 09:21 AM

Shirts, lots of them.
Some books.
A calendar.
Skyrimmage.

A Zarkin' Frood 12-26-2011 09:50 AM

Why do people who are not me actually get things that are not shitty money? I was naughty, right? And naughty people only get paper with numbers on it, apparently.

walkertexasdruid 12-26-2011 11:22 AM

Star Trek TNG season 6
The Simpsons season 14
X-men Origins: Wolverine on blu-ray
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, part one on blu-ray
The Omen Machine by Terry Goodkind
24 season 1
CSI: NY season 1

Overall not a bad christmas.

Cloud Strife 12-26-2011 11:59 AM

Two shirts, Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword Limited Edition, three multi-tools, a book of my family history dating back 200 years from my mother-in-law (awesome!), and a 40 inch LCD 1080p HDTV from my wife. :D

Token 12-26-2011 12:13 PM

Awesome.

But with money you can get any present within it's limits.

See, it's not all bad.

Nique 12-26-2011 10:36 PM

It wasn't for Christmas but I'm buying these for my wife.

Azisien 12-26-2011 11:09 PM

My Christmas is delayed because I had to stay away from home due to work. So if I got anything for Christmas, I'll find out on the 27th or 28th. But I did get a nice bonus from work.

Didn't get my GOD DAMN car though!

Money is worthless, it's shit. I don't want money. What if some catastrophic event happens tomorrow and we have to spend the rest of our lives in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. I'd get more use out of a really heavy book than out of money. Fuck money.

Geminex 12-27-2011 08:27 AM

If you don't want yours, I'll have it. I'll trade you some raider painspike armor and a few caps for it.

Edit: And maybe I can dig up a flamer.

batgirl 12-27-2011 04:41 PM

For Channukah: A new Littman stethoscope, and a Coach bag.

synkr0nized 01-01-2012 11:18 PM

maybe it's just me

Christmas: the one time bragging seems to be OK?

Amake 01-02-2012 06:31 AM

If you don't brag about what presents people are giving you, how will they know their gifts are appreciated?
