One year, one month and four days. That was some damn good perseverance there. First props is for lasting that long, as you were pretty much self-funded weren't you? Next is doing it all on your own and getting it done that quickly. Well, I don't know the average time for these kinds of projects, but I know it would have taken me a hell of a lot longer to do something like that.

A lot of the problems were indirectly solved, most of the problems were solved through connections and my personal journey into the fire community.
At the beginning of this project I had very little experience with fire, no experience with staff, meteor, doublestaff, torchpoi or structured nunchaku, but by the end of the project I was a fire community organizer, professional fire performer, had my own troupe, and had connections with people who had the knowledge and materials stocked to help me with what I needed.

Now, since I put them together I have slowly begun to discover how these are actually used... and what was once a struggle to keep them stable has become a complex fluidity, I used to treat them with 1 style of firetool... but they actually function in 3 different styles simultaneously, and can be instantly augmented into 2 different styles at will (that I've discovered this week). Honestly I've fallen in love with them, they are the most stylistically versatile firetool ever made and have so much potential for the future.

That being said, swordchucks are like a raging firebeasts, seriously guys, these things are HOT! I can't stress this enough... these are indescribably hot, compared to any other firetool ever made. These are SO hot, that even with thick leather gloves and correct usage you can still burn your hands just by the ambient heat, this is mainly due to the fact that the current model compresses 30% more fuel than a standard firesword uses (each) extremely close to your hands, all around them, and you're using 4 of them.
These are so hot I'm thinking I might need to mod special gloves specifically for using them.

I could slap together two sword-shaped poles that are chained together and also on fire in a week or so, no problem at all.

Note that this doesn't involve any kind of safety measures or indeed any planning at all beyond "don't do it in the house", and also absolutely no ideas for what to actually do with them other than run around a field yelling "call 911." Seeing as the construction thread is only two months or so old I imagine that's what took up the majority of the time.

Lev you should make ones that arent on fire and sell them, you would make a large profit.

I've created a forum group for swordchucks, part of the new videos I will be posting up shortly will provide a basis for people to start learning how to use swordchucks.

The funding was a major problem, if I had an extra $700 lying around I could have done it within a few months, but the social resources I built up let me build the prototype for under $80. I'm also trying to arrange a setup with a friend in a local coop, which should get me a ridiculously low rent and enough extra funds to start building new models... and the next stage of the project we've been planning for a while.

Fighter Armor.

Flammable Fighter Armor.

I think you forgot one word but to do that you're gonna have to give away manuals on how to cast Life-3

The fighter armor will be mostly made of leather and metal, my armorer friend is making the oblique ribcage guarding now out of chainmail... But if you guys want I guess we could find a way of putting in detachable wicks and setting those on fire?

The videos will also have a complete run through of all the firesafety needed not to horribly disfigure or kill you, the rest is just practice and burn cream =]

Personally, I'm holding out until you make a Fire Helm out of somebody dressed as a catatonic Red Mage.

Hmmm, If we used red military blankets to make the clothing we could spritz it with enough fuel to take a photo. This could work but I'll have to read into how dangerous covering yourself in fuel and setting yourself on fire is.

Since you tapped into the magic of the world to create real swordchucks, flaming swordchucks to be specific.

Can you guys create a real Hadoken?
