Just...wow. 99 lives. Not hit once. Four powerups - Whistle 1, whistle 2, leaf, star. Didn't die once. Eleven minutes. I'm not sure if he's just good or if he has way to much god damn time on his hands. |
This was posted here a long time ago. The creator also admitted that he cheated creating this movie.

Bastard. When I looked at it, it didn't seem all that impossible, because I'd beaten the game in a few hours before going all the way through it non-stop... so I picked up my game, with my refreshed knowledge of warp whistles and tried to get near his time. Got down to around a half hour before I got bored with it. But I spent a whole day or two practicing! Damn him!

How can you cheat on something like that? Sure the timer could have slowed down, that's as much as I could make out from the translation, but....eh?

He used a bunch of save states, and then everytime he screwed up, went back to the save state, and recorded over his fuck up. That's how. He didn't actually play that good, he just retried a lot until he got it right on every stage.

Why 2 years? It was played on an emulator at 1/30th speed and recorded frame-by-frame over 2 years to produce the video. |
*Gets emulator and SMB 3 hooked up for recording*
