The secret of Liberi Fatali
I was listening to the FFVIII song today, and I realised something: There is a puzzle in Ultimecia's Castle that requires you to know latin. It made me realise that Liberi Fatali lyrics are actually latin. I've translated it for us all. Enjoy.
Latin Lyrics: Flithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec. Flithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec. Excitate vos e somno, liberi mei. Cunae non sunt. Excitate vos e somno, liberi fatali. Somnus non eat. Surgite. Invenite Hotum veritatis. Ardente veritate. Urite mala mundi. Ardente veritate. Incendite tenebras mundi. Valete, liberi. Diebus Fatalibus. Flithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec. Flithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec. Flithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec. Flithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec. English Translation: Conquer your deception. Conquer your deception. Wake yourself from your dream, child of mine. Do not stay in the nest. Awaken from your dream, and be released from your fate. Sleep no more. Arise. Discover the garden's truth. Find the truth. Cleanse the world of evil. Find the truth. Begin to understand your world. Be strong, child. Sever your fate Conquer your deception. Conquer your deception. Conquer your deception. Conquer your deception. |
Estuans interius! Ira Vehementi!
Estuans interius Ira Vehementi! Sephirosu! |
*looks around* Uh... I don't speak Latin. I just knew of a way to translate it. Too tired to do it now.
|
Heh, it's Sephiroth's theme, One Winged Angel (lyrics taken from Carmina Burana...except for Sephirosu, that is) :D
|
I see. I'll look up the translation in a few.
|
I'll save you the trouble.

Oh, hey, you'll love this: "Feel the Wrath of the violent killer. Feel the wrath of the violent killer. Sephiroth" That's more or less what it says, anyway. Direct translations are always difficult, though. |
I love Latin. It always makes an end boss theme that much cooler.
Though Russian rules all. :p |

ugh. latin. i took that in high school. what a horrid language to learn. Japanese was easier to learn, and you have to learn a whole new alphabet and way of reading to understand Japanese.
i got a D- in the class (probably out of pitty, since i came in for tutoring every frigging lunch hour) and then like an idiot, i signed up for Latin 2. the first day of class i came up to the teacher and said "i dont know why im here." and left. best decision of my high school career. |
