WoT computer virus

Daughter of the Net, she surfs again.
The ancient flamewar, she yet fights.
A new browser she seeks, that can serve her and crash, yet serve still.
What can stand against her hacking?
The firewall shall kneel.
Lag calls lag.
Lag feeds lag.
Lag is, and lag was, and lag shall ever be.

The man who e-mails stands alone.
He gives his passwords for sacrifice.
Two links before him, one to accurate information, the other to the Great
Hoax.
Which shall he choose? Which shall he choose?
What page speaks truth? What page lies?
Lag calls lag.
Lag feeds lag.
Lag is, and lag was, and lag shall ever be.

"Luc" posted in the Jordan newsgroup.
"Isam" lurked in the World-Wide Ways.
The debate is now begun. The Texas Darkfriends rage and flame.
One did crash and one did not, but both post.
_A Crown of Swords_ has come.
Lag calls lag.
Lag feeds lag.
Lag is, and lag was, and lag shall ever be.

The Wizards wait on AngrealMOO.
The e-mail virus rends the ancient web.
Delays shall sow, and posters flame, before the next book comes.
Delays shall reap, and fandom wane, before the next book comes.
Again the FAQs get answers wrong, before the next book comes.
System failure imminient! {In the original, these lines flashed.}
System failure imminient!
Lag calls lag.
Lag feeds lag.
Lag is, and lag was, and lag shall ever be.
System failure immi>
*&^(*&%%^&%&*$%^#$%#%$$(&)^&)^&(%^%^&$%^$^*%)(*&)} {[][":^^*&^%^&%#$##^$$&
Your system has been infected by the
Great_Lord_of_the_Dark
computer virus.
All applications have been tainted.
All data files will be corrupted.
Have a nice day!

How would one pronounce "*&^(*&%%^&%&*$%^#$%#%$$(&)^&)^&(%^%^&$%^$^*%)(*&) }{[][":^^*&^%^&%#$##^$$&"

Probably from your nether-regions.

Lycanthrope 12-25-2003 03:05 PM

Its all in the sub prehensile jaw mechanism that is behind your pharinx... oh, sorry, your earthlings most of you...

Hamelin 12-25-2003 03:15 PM

Apparently aliens don't know the difference between your and you're.

Muffin Mage 12-25-2003 06:51 PM

Not a surprise...

I noticed the very thing (the poem, not the non-native spelling issues, and the meaning, not the poem itself) last night. The browser moved in chunks, rather than it's normal smooth movement-type stuff when, when I scrolled. But I'd been playing CouterStrike for about two hours before that, and that might account for it.

Beware the GLOTD virus!

Hey, you try to learn a language that doesn't even have any sillibles in common with your own! Nah, I'm not going to start all alien. I'll leave that to my friend. I said the entire earthling thing bc he isn't hear to say it himself. I'm a fantasy nut, not a sci-fi fanatic...

Muffin Mage 12-26-2003 08:23 AM

What's the word to describe those words that sound the same but are spelled differently?

You should learn both that, and the various spellings of those words. "Here" and "hear," "there" and "they're" and "their," "know" and "no," etc.

Bah. Homos.
