OCremix

http://www.ocremix.org/

If you haven't heard of OCremix, it's a huge database of video game music remixed by talented DJs. Some of the stuff on the site is simply brilliant.
I tried to access the site today, and I immediately got a prompt for a user account and password. Does anyone know anything about this? Has OCremix become a pay website or have they shut down for a little bit? (they must eat up a lot of bandwidth)

As far as I know, it only asks for a password if you're trying to access something that is for the forum members (Yes, there's a forum on OC). I don't think it's become a paysite... Where were you trying to go, or did you just go to the main page?

Nevermind then. The page seems to have fixed itself. I must have caught it at an unlucky time... drat. Sorry to worry you guys.

So... I hate to waste a topic. What are your favorite remixes and why?

My favorite remixes are the ones done by Disco Dan. The mood he sets with them matches the intended background of the original perfectly. By this I mean, for example, Braving Tal Tal Heights is set with a mountainous theme, and Bubbleman (Wants to Get) FunkedUp is exactly what you'd expect from a water-based music piece.

Disco Dan, djpretzel, Star Salzman, AmIEvil, DarkESword, and of course our precious Aetherius. Sawesome.

I like HappyBivouac's "Lat night Sneakin'" from Jet set radio and Mr_44's "Fear (Arrakis:Giga)" from Rez

Something hot off the presses and it's brilliant.
Clicky.

Wow, that's quite a departure from his normal material! Awesome stuff though. goat has been one of my favorite arrangers in that community for quite a while, and this mix, while a bit unorthodox compared to his previous work, is still fantastic.

I liked the FF5 one better. The one that remixed the Harvest-Town theme (In Worus, I believe).

I've loved this site ever since I first found it. I have to set aside a day or two, however, to catch up from the last song I downloaded, months ago. That and AMVs -- I've been negligent.
