Star Wars RP: Zero Hour
 

Dust swept across the surface of the giant coliseum. It was apparent to the gathering Jedi that there was more than just a coliseum within however. A small group, about 300 Jedi, was all that were stealthily slipping into the large structure. They’d been forewarned about who was there. Namely, Dooku, an army of droids, a bounty hunter, and many Geonosians.

There was obviously some sort of ritual or something going on. The Jedi used the Force to mask themselves and snuck in. Mace Windu broke off to confront the leaders.

Obviously, things went wrong. Lightsabers were ignited. A quick inventory of the situation revealed three things. 1) There was an army of droids 2) There was an army of Geonosians 3) The time for talk was past…

Kith dropped down to the inside of the coliseum, his lightsaber igniting in a green shaft of light, to the sound of a familiar snap hiss. Instantly, he rotated his lightsaber into a whirl, and rotated himself around. Seven blaster bolts bounced from his blade, scattering somewhere into the stands. At the end of his rotation, Kith snapped his lightsaber left and right brutally fast, bisecting a pair of Battle Droids. Kith kept moving forward, whipping his lightsaber vertical, spinning it, and tossing it around his back to his left hand.

While mostly for show, he did deflect a few shots at him. His right hand flared out and threw three battle droids backwards with the force. Neatly, he lifted his lightsaber back up and bounced off a few more shots. He almost slowed to a walk when a flurry of blaster bolts came from the side and punched clean through the Jedi in front of him. Then he broke into a sprint, getting near the middle of the arena.

He glanced up. Geonosians were jumping in. Kith whipped his saber forward, let it sail through the air, tore off his outer robe, then caught his saber. The droid his saber had hit fell into two pieces. It wasn’t a simple battle, nor a simple fight. Not anymore. These were odds they’d never faced before. There was also a new battle droid. Bigger, faster firing and meaner looking.

Kith hoped his fellow Jedi were faring well…

The intent to kill is forged in the mind

- Dakkon's lightsaber whirled out in a brilliant crimson arc -

this intent becomes the weapon that kills.

- neatly severing the droid's head from it's body and cleaving through the torsoes of two more battle droids. However, four more took their places, and although he was not having much difficulty deflecting their shots, even bouncing a few back at them, he was acutely aware that the younger Jedi might not have had the benefit of his experience.

He was also aware that even though the Force saw for him, he would still have a weak spot at his back, where his saber could not be properly brought to bear.

He spotted Laine in the midst of the chaos, and began making his way towards her, his blade flowing from defense to offense to defense again like a river, without end or interruption.

As the fight went on around them, Thomas Homsar and Grant Tillnor were fighting in a mass of droids.

Thomas's lightsabers were flitting around in a strange dance of light, decimating any droids who came within attack distance. His partner, Grant, was using his yellow lightsaber to deflect the blaster shots.

"This is getting tough. I can't keep deflecting shots forever!" Grant yelled out behind Thomas. Grant gave out a small yelp as a droid leapt from a distance and was about to blast him right in the face. Thomas grabbed Grant's shoulder and pulled him back. He stuck out both of his lightsabers, and they entered the droid's body like it was made of butter. He pulled his arms in separate directions, slicing the droid in half.

"Thanks, man."

Thomas looked over at Grant, the scar on his face standing out against his piercing blue eyes.

"No problem. Just keep your head in the game. I won't be able to save your ass at every turn."

Grant pointed over Thomas's shoulder. Four droids headed in his direction. Thomas gave out a sigh.

"There's no end to them. Time to use some tricks."

Thomas reached his hand out, and the force spread from his fingers and entered the droids. Then, he quickly pulled his fist back. A loud crunching sound was heard as the central processors for the four droids were forcibly ripped from the droids' bodies. They fell to the ground, useless.

Thomas looked around. He saw Kith having some problems with a new kind of droid. He looked back at Grant.

"Come on. We're needed over there."

Thomas began to run over, his cloak billowing out behind him.

Laine parried the blaster shots expertly, her white lightsaber whirling around her like a wave of light. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Dakkon heading toward her, and she backed up to him until they were basically back to back, making it easier to defend on both parts.

"There's no end to these Droids!" She yelled, cutting another Droid down.

"You have that right, Laine. We need to keep from getting swarmed - do you see anywhere we can take cover on your side? I don't think I can see int wo different directions at once, not while deflecting blaster bolts."

Then, he sensed a larger droid taking the field. There was a twinge as the Force screamed a warning to him, and then he was deflecting a near-endless stream of blaster bolts. While he managed to strike down a few flanking battle droids with the rebounded shots, the effort was taking a toll on him, especially since the surviving battle droids were all concentrating their fire on him.

"Anything, Laine?"

Meserin enhanced his speed with the force and rushed towards a group of droids. Deflecting their volley of blasts with his lightsaber, he landed in front of them and shoved with the force, nocking them down. Slicing through the heads of the remaining droids Meserin stopped to survey the battle. Seing Dakkon's plight Meserin flanked the droids that were attacking him. Slicing through ones chest he called to Dakkon "Mind if I help".

Laine looked past the oncoming droids for a cover spot, her vision caught sight of a piece of rubble from the coliseum, it had fallen in such a way that a couple people could take cover behind it from the blaster shots, "I see a spot that might work, it's a ways in my direction." She explained to him, "Also," She continued, matter-of-factly, "It seems some of the others are confronting a new droid, much bigger than the others, as I'm sure you've sensed."

"Super Battle Droids!" Yelled Kith as he deflected the stream of fire from the droid. Doing everything he could, he started bouncing the fire back at the droids, picking a few off.

"Screw it." Kith then crushed the blaster arm with the Force, and used the Force to haul the droid straight to him. Then he impaled it, pulled his saber out, and cut it into two pieces.

Kith looked for where he could be of most use, and noted a few things. The first was that Obi-Wan and Anakin were free. The second was that Mace Windu appeared to be fighting the bounty hunter. As Kith watched, Windu neatly cut the hunter's head off.

Without more time to ponder, Kith turned back to bouncing back the blaster fire.

"Droidekas! Incoming!"

"Droidekas, eh? Well..."

As he sensed one of them roll into place and heard the faint humming as their shields activated, Dakkon took one hand off his saber and reached it out to the war machine, just as its blasters finished their power-up cycle, and gave it a short, vicious twist.

The droid unleashes a stream of explosive energy into a mass of battle droids advancing towards them, tearing large holds in it, then Dakkon jerked his hand to one side, and the droideka careened into more super battle droids which had just shown up, knocking them down. Looking up, he noticed Obi-Wan climbing up on one of the three arena beasts, lightsaber in hand.

"Obi-wan and Anakin are free! Should we not depart now?"

Kith was wildly bouncing away blaster bolts and cutting droids down when he could.

"We can't. We're blocked in."
