The Now Playing Thread~

ZOMG music!

Basically, just put what you're listening to right now. Unless I fail at the internet, I didn't see a thread like this anywhere, so here goes~

last: Explosions in the Sky--"The Moon is Down"

now: Godspeed You! Black Emperor--"Storm"

later: 65daysofstatic--"Hole"

This thread isn't considered spam, I hope. If it is, by all means, feel free to beat down my Web-Ego™. It's been getting too high lately. XD

Yah, it's pretty much spam. Doesn't really invite any kind of discussion on any level.

However, as that I caught it so soon: Discuss what you're listening to now, and what other people are listening to. This way, it is not spam, I don't have to close it, and we all gain a greater appreciation for the musical tastes of our fellow forumers.

If it continues in the vein of merely song titles etc. though, I will have to close it.

I am currently listening to Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Stagger Lee. Cave's voice sounds wonderful on Murder Ballads.

I'm going through more of my music expansion now. I still have more music than I will be able to listen to in a lifetime. Today has been a day of Muse, Sage Francis, and Jazz Jamaica All Stars.

I hurt my foot. I had to listen to albums all day.

And that's punishment? HAH!

Although this really hinders the ska show I was going to go to on saturday :(

edit: contribute yeself krylo, im interested as to what youre pumpin through yer ears these days.

I was feeling kinda bored so I started to randomly scroll through my iPod and landed on Spies from Coldplay.

I seriously don't know why Coldplay released Trouble over Spies as their second single. Not saying Trouble is a bad song, its just...Spies is this weird rollercoaster of a song that jerks you back and forth sonically and yet you feel like you can predict what's next until you find out you were wrong.

So yeah, I playlisted it.

That's cool. I guess the definition of 'spam' varies from one board to another. And of course, being a newbie, I _had_ to screw up my first thread.

last:-- The Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra & Tra-la-la Band--"C'mon Come on (Loose an Endless Longing)"

now: The Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra & Tra-la-la Band--"Could've Moved Mountains"

later: The Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra & Tra-la-la Band--"Built Then Burnt (Hurrah! Hurrah!)"

For those who don't have any idea of what sort of music the stuff I post is, it's called 'post-rock,' which is basically long, moody, wordless, symphonic music that is usually heartbreakingly beautiful. Despite the lack of words, it conveys emotion better than many other kinds of music that _do_ have words.

Some primer albums if you're interested:

Anything by Explosions in the Sky

"Young Team" by Mogwai

"Born Into Trouble as the Sparks Fly Upwards" by The Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra & Tra-la-la Band (They actually have lyrics)

"Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas To Heaven!" and "F#A#oo" by Godspeed You! Black Emperor

If you don't like it, you suck. :p

Well hello, someone else listens to Nick Cave. Good for you, Locke. Murder Ballads is easily one of his / their best albums.

Currently: Tom Waits - San Diego Serenade. It's from one of his 70's albums, way before he started playing random objects and singing with his (now) trademark gravelly voice. His earlier music is more like 3 AM bar blues. Either way, Waits is simply great.

Current: New Disease by Spineshank

I never heard the ban until I borrowed the CD off my friends. I'm curious if anyone else heard of them?
