Band rp interest thread
 

I've been playing with the idea of making an Rp that is based on forming a band.

The Story:

In the world that has grown up after the Last War, the music industry has been virtually destroyed. The people listen to whatever CDs they can salvage from the ruins of the old cities. In this musical void, a new type of musical expression has risen up. Two bands get up on stage and they play. The better band leaves the stage victorious, the worser lays his instruments down in sub-servience to the greater. A world of honor meets the pure potential of thre young men and women out to rebuild the lost industry, that of music.

The rpers would play the members of an up and coming band, a favorite at the duels.
Char. creation would look something like this:

SKill lvl: Skill Lvl. is your characters basic musical skill. Can he play? Can he read music? Does he posess the basic skills necessary to create music?
Inst. lvl.: Proficiency with his/her instrument. How well does he play his instrument? Good soloist?
Mix Abi.: Musician's ability to blend in with other sounds. Is he in tune? Does he sound good with the rest of the group? Does he benefit the group over-all?
Crowd sway: Does he make the crowd happy? Does he put on a good show?


Any interest? Don't know how I'd work the duels, possibly need someone with more experience under his/her belt.

Bio: Zeph doesn't remember much about his parents, or even his real name. He grew up alone, and assumed his current name a few years ago, when he picked up a guitar.

He floated from safe house to safe house in his youth, learning how to survive, but finally managed to land some form of job in his teenage years. With that money, he managed to buy a guitar and secondhand equipment to feed his habit, a habit inspired by albums he scrounged up in his youth. Ministry, Pantera, Sacred Reich, Skrew... all influenced him and his style. Now, he just needs a band to feed his hunger.
Preferred genre: Heavy metal/industrial/rock/hardcore

Tried to mirror my own natural ability best I can. While I can't read guitar sheet music, I can read tabs like the back of my hand. While I don't know anything about music theory and scales as it applies to guitar, I can still write riffs and stay in tune. And since I've not been in a band, I really don't know what my Mix ability is...

well we could have a Greendayish band (three members) if you take center stage(singer guitarist).

More like Thin Lizzy if the bassist does vocals. :p

Or mayhaps a very charasmatic singer who also happens to play guitar? I know it would be a stretch, but I think I could cover something like that. :p
