Invasion of Arias Chapter 5: Calm Before the Storm
Karvan exhaled quickly, almost like a snort, and walked back over to the Caravan. He emerged a bit later with A few stacks of fish, far less than what was thought to be inside of it. "Not very much fish. Small cat probably eat." He said, proceeding to pick up the rest of the vennison on his chain, then weaving the chain back and forth on the ground near the fire, so that it laid ina criss-crossed pattern. He then set down the meat and fish on it, checked again to make sure they were far enough apart. He backed up a bit, made sure he wouldn't hit anyone, then breathed flame on the chain near the bottom. The chains heated red, the meat sizzling. Over a period of ten minutes, Karvan dexterously flipped the meat over with his claws, being careful not to burn himself.
"Um, alright then. Whatever. There's only a fire right here!" Shirin said, simultaneously pointing to the campfire, looking frustrated, then stomping off into the caravan. |
"Oooh, human dinner!" Tantalum exclaimed as they arrived back at the campsite. She watched Karvan at work with a mixture of admiration and awe on her face, and clapped her hands in delight when the tender smell of frying fish permeated the air with sweet aromas.
"It's been a while since I've eaten fish." |
"Ah, so you and Aquila come back? Well, while you were gone, Karvan decided that it would be time to have dinner."
I grabbed a stick and speared a buring fish. "Try one," i said to Tantalum as I handed her a stick fish. |
"Why thank you, darling," Tantalum smiled graciously as she accepted the food and let go of Aquila's hands. She bit down hungrily, and was delighted by the delicious taste that exploded in her mouth.
"MMmm, grilled fish," she said after swallowing the first mouthful, "I haven't had grilled fish in almost two years." OOC: so sorry, Pende, but I think i forgot your char's name... |

I grabbed another fish for myself. "Thanks Karvan, it looks delishous." |
Aquila moved over to the oposit side of the fire from Tanta, watching with a jeleouse face. He was adding to it as best he could with his limited acting ability. The end result was looking too jeleouse, as though he was going to tear out someones skull. He began to smell the air the cooking meat smelt both wonderful and revolting. He had eaten his fill tonight however. He would probably sleep long and deep tonight. Staying in his were form all day had been quite draining on him. He looked over to his brother and asked, "Anything fun happen while I was away?" Gesturing slightly to the very relaxed Elven cat.
|
I was peacefully chewing my fish with the others when I heard Bossy Bird talking to Hale. {Uh-oh. This is when Hale'll them Aquilla about the V.H. I better do something to make sure Aqullia is calm, if another tornado is in store.} I put on a serious expression.
"Oh, yes something quite intresting happened while you were gone, Aquilla. I disapproved of telling it to you, but Hale said you'd understand. Hale, you may tall Aquilla about it, if you plase." |
Hale strolled forward still folding Aiera's clothes as he moved into the encampment. He giggled a little when Pende proffessed his indignation over telling Aquila the news. Genius Pende, make sure he has no intention of ever trusting you. Keeping news about half-vampires from my brother does nothing but make you appear to be in league with them. Besides I said he's a light touch. Hale strolled past them as he moved towards the mewing Aiera, "Not much of interest happened here dear brother. I just pledged my life to Vargus, to insure that when the time is right he shall be able to deal the decisive blow. Something in me tells me thats the way it shall be." Hale rolled his eyes towards Aquila and grinned heavily, "Something tells me you had more fun then I, so you and Tanta built up a sweat alone, eh?" Hale knew that putting Aquila on the defensive was generally the best way to slip something important in without much trouble. And on top of that, it was fun.
|
Aquila coughed a little and blushed. Of course he HADN'T done anything but he was still a private man when it came to that sort of thing. He ignored the question after that and instead commented on the other bit of disturbing news. "You would pledge our life to this knoll?" Aquila asked rhetorically a thoughtful expression on his face. " I never do give my brother enough trust, and ordering him to go back on his pledge would be wrong. Not to mention he wouldn't do it. I suppose this one time I can humor him." Aquila thought to himself.
After a moment he responded, "OK then. Vargus it appears you have our families protection until such time as my brother feels his oath is fulfilled I shall live up to his word as well." With that Aquila leaned back and pulled out a water skin someone had placed down, he began drinking it in deep gulps. |
Hale smirked as Aquila boasted the families protection over Vargus, She truly must have put him in a good mood, thats new. Hale sat down as he spoke, "Oh and I'm sure with your analytical mind you noticed by now that Vargus is a half-vampire." Hale loved it when everything worked out in his favor.
