Tim Burton's the Nightmare Before Chrsitmas: the video game

Is anyone else as excited by this as I am? I mean, sure its a movie rip off but still. I love the movie, and Jack is the Shiznat, so even if the game is horrible I'd still get it used for 5 dollars. But apparently its going to be at least decent. They aren't planning on doing anything groundbreaking that I've heard of yet, something like using the fighting engine from DMC. Since DMC owns and Nightmare Before Christmas the movie owns, then hopefully the game will to. Any thoughts or info?

any links to confirm this?

Morotis 05-24-2005 02:12 PM

We don't need links! who the hell would make up a lie like that? Besides, links lie quite often!

A NBC game would be insane! like mutha $%^*#! insane! I'de bye it and beat it 20 times before ever doing anything else! my best guess would be that if they follow the plot of the movie then the game would be like a Spongebob Squarepants' game...I'de still buy it... If they make there own plot it'de be best a a fighting platformer, then i'de really buy it!

Action game based on Henry Selick's stop-motion movie masterpiece. Players slip into the role of Jack Skellington, King of Halloween, and relive the adventures set in Tim Burton's dark world. Following the events of the Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas movie, players take control of Jack Skellington who sets out on a search of new ways to spook kids during Halloween. He returns home to find that Oogie Boogie has returned and Halloween Town is in peril once again. Using a "Rubber Soul" item, Jack must get to the bottom of what's going on. Players can move around through a 3D recreation of Halloween town, taking on the Boogie faithful. Released in Japan with the subtitle "Boogie no Gyakushuu."

Personally, I think the game deserves a chance. It's Jack Skellington you're talking about here.

You can view trailers for the game here...and for free, might I add.

Hmmm...being developed by Capcom.... :).

It did look rather Devil May Cry-ish in the trailer.

I'll have to keep an eye on this.

The Night Before Christmas was an AWESOME movie! also, i immediately wanted to see it again after playing it in Kingdom Hearts<this is probably a spoiler seeing as how i am telling you one of the levels in the game i am mentioning in this spoiler text..but anyway...I CANT WAIT!!!!

I can't believe I didn't see this earlier! I love the movie. The game play looks really good. It reminds me of Kingdom Hearts. Is there going to be musical parts in this game?

If there are, it would be amazingly awesome (man...I need to be my vocabulary out of the '80s) if they got Danny Elfman to do it again...the music and Jack's singing voice.

Hey, it's true. Danny Eflman was the singing voice for Jack in the movie. That guy has insane vocal range.

I was flipping through Elfman's stats over at The Internet Movie Database, and it does appear he's done music for a few games. I wonder if he's doing it for this one, as well?
