Tetra Warrior discussion/signups

In this world exist four elemental forces: Earth, Fire, Wind, and Water. The four elements are kept regulated by the Chaos Orb, an ancient artifact kept deep within a vault in the heart of the Great Temple in the capital city. Without this, the elements would begin to rage out of control, eventially rending the planet apart. The Chaos Orb is, in essence, the heart of the planet.

And it has vanished.

Okay, basic premise is that you are one of four warriors who represent the four elements of Earth, Fire, Wind, and Water. (No, there's no Heart. Sorry.)
And I'll say right now that I need people to RP the warriors (And *I* am the air warrior.) And the world is a quasi-medieval setting. Think Discworld, except, um, round.

So...
Earth:
Fire:
Wind: Me
Water:

Basically, the first three people with profiles I like get to roleplay. Sorry, this one's pretty small.

Character applications should look like this: Please be detailed.
Name:
Gender:
Age: Within reason. No really ancient guys.
Race: Humanoid only, please. And give a basic race description.
Appearance: At least one paragraph.
Personality: Again -- one paragraph, at least.
Alignment: Good, evil, whatever.
History: At least 2 - 3 paragraphs.
Weapons:
Powers: Please BE REASONABLE. And they should be element related. Also, all four can shoot small blasts of their element. Four at most.
Weaknesses: One for each power, and, again, BE REASONABLE!!!

My Character
Name: Pip
Gender: Male
Age: 18
Race: Human

Appearance:
Pip is fairly tall, standing about six feet. He has short, shiney black hair with red highlights, pale, slate-grey eyes, and a small buttony nose. His skin is very pale, but also vbery smooth. He is, in a word, a bishie (I should probably commit ritual suicide for making a bishie character, but meh). He wears a dark-red tuxedo, almost black, but white gloves. He also has a large, black cape with red lining. He is very lean, but not overly skinny, and he wears a saber on his left hip. When he is fighting, he puts on a white mask that covers most of his face, but leaves his mouth exposed. Where he keeps it at other times is a mystery, and he seems to have an infinite supply.

Personality:
Despite his physical attractiveness, Pip tends to be very closed around women -- except when wearing his mask. When wearing the mask, he allows his more romantic side to show. He is, at heart, both a great romantic and a showman (though he lets the latter show at all times). He does what needs to be done, but tends to make as much of a show of it as possible. He believes himself to be quite plain (verging on ugly), and has a great fear of rejection and thus tries not to let himself get attached to anyone. When he does become attached, and then rejected, he invariably blames himself.

Alignment: Good

History:
Pip was born into the major theater troupe of the capital city by default. He was an orphan, and his parents left him on the front steps of the first building seen -- the Capital Theatre. He lived here happily, learning the trade of acting. It lasted until he was nine.

When Pip was nine, the theater was forced to close due to lack of funding. None of the members could care for Pips on their own, so he was left in the care of the state. It was a very different life in the orphanage -- not actually cruel, but he was ignored in the bureacratic shuffle of daily life. He was also ignored, if not actually mistreated, by the other children. Needless to say, the sudden shift left him with a lot of "issues".

At the age of eighteen, he set out to make it on his own -- or at the very least get away from the orphanage. He became a street-performer, using the stage-fighting skills he had learned at a young age to produce a nice show. He also managed to modify his technique slightly to help defend himself against bandits and various city thugs. He found that the mask he now uses adds a slight air of mystery to the act, and thus brings in a bit more money. Thus, he wears it when performing and fighting.

Weapons:
A long, basket-hilted saber. That's really it.

Powers:
High-Jump: Pip can ride the air currents to maximize the length and height of his jumps. He can't clear buildings, but he can jump between them and get decent distance above the average person's head.

Vacuum Blade: He can open a vaccuum just ahead of his sword, letting it move very quickly.

Projection: Pip can manipulate the airwaves to project his voice, either 'throwing' it like a ventriloquist or amplifying it like a megaphone.

Weaknesses:
When jumping, Pip is very easy to knock down -- especially if you have good accuracy and strength. His sword moves very quickly, but when it moves fast, it looses raw power. Ie, there are more attacks, but they are weaker individually. And his projection doesn't work over long distances or in places with bad airflow.

Name: Artemis
Gender: Indeterminate
Age: Unknown, Probably 20-30
Race: Changeling
Appearance: As a changeling, Artemis has her/his pick of outward looks, and his/her manipulation of the element of Water has only increased its changing nature. Still, Artemis has realized that to forge bonds a regular appearance is needed, and as such usually stays in the form of an attractive brunnete woman or tough looking man. The few constants are the eyes, which are forever a bright shade of orange, a neck brace emblazoned with the symbol of water, and her weapons.
Personality: Unlike most of Artemis's nature, her/his personality is an ever-present constant. Many who expect the changeling's mood to be as swingy as its appearance are often suprised when the cold, calculating persona shines through. Not one to mess around, anything that is said is said because it needs to be said, and nothing more or less. Emotions are petty things to take into consideration and in any form the voice remains nigh-monotone, with very little variation or pitch.
Alignment: Nuetral, although if illegal means are required to obtain what is needed then illegal means will be done.
History: Found by a monk as a baby, Artemis never knew her/his past, or how hunters had stolen a young baby from a changeling tribe the week before, only to get caught at the border guard and hastily dumping their cargo overboard. The monks were no help in the identity crisis either, as their religion held no explanation for a baby who changed sexes on a whim. The more friendly of the monks could only take Artemis aside and tell him/her that it was 'unique'. Naturally this did not help an emotionally unstable child and rebellion occured, minor theft, then small escapades into surrounding cities, then finally stealing their sacred weapons and slipping into the masses.
Since then Artemis has subsisted on thievery, either financed or personal. Raised by monks, and prone to snooping in their scrolls, Water magic comes easy, and helps to fend off any threats.
Weapons: Twin curved tonfas.
Powers: Dopplegangy: Semi-holographic images formed by air moisture coalesce to make visible forms. Basically Artemis can make images of people or things, that, while not solid, can confuse enemies if need be.
Ice Sheet: If in contact with another weapon, can freeze the weapon and allow it to be broken.
Weaknesses: Artemis is unable to stand extremes. Too much heat will make his/her physical structure fluctuate uncontrollaby and cooler climates slows everything down.

Approved.
Prismatic is now the water warrior... thingy.
Oh, and in addition to the four elemental warriors, there's room for one (MAYBE two) non-elemental characters to act as sidekicks, or whatever.

PyrosNine 06-04-2005 12:31 AM

Considering my other Rp's are apparently dead or in a coma, I'm free for another one. Here's another member of the Pyrosian Lineage

Name: Firenze
Gender:Male
Age: 49, looks 20.
Race: Pyrosian.

Appearance: Dark hair with red streaks, leather and bronze armor with red ornaments, and black cape

Personality: Kind, light hearted boozer who can become somewhat wise, dark
and brooding at times.

Alignment: Good

History: A warrior of Nobility who fought in the Elementian wars, and helped the good and wise king to rise to power. Son of the Great Healer, a multi elemental woman with healing arts capable of bringing back the dead. His great burden is the knowledge that he's also of the lineage of a race proclaimed in the history books as "The great Fire Demons." Botched a marriage with the princess of the Opposing element that could have ended a millienial long feud between water and fire.

Weapons: Spoils of war weapons given to him for being the strongest Elemental of fire, The pyrosian masamune, and the knee rockets (mystical shinpads that have the strange ability to fire missiles.)

Powers: Flame cannon: Shoots beam of pure fire.

Pyrokinesis: Can manipulate and control flame, even other fire elementals. Also allows for weak "Force" powers.

Flame sword: Can create blade of pure flame to complement his other sword, or when unarmed.

Nova: releases raw energy from his body that has 1/100th of the power of the sun (which is quite powerful mind you, enough to incinerate everything around him to atoms) Severely weakens him.

Weaknesses: Water makes all fire attacks unusuable and makes him only slightly stronger than a normal man. Has to dry off before he can reignite, unless he's strongly encouraged to. Booze makes him tipsy, and causes his own fire attacks to burn him. Dragon's blood wine increases his power, but also makes him really really drunk. Also can be too kind for his own good.

Bosolai 06-04-2005 01:30 AM

I'll take up the last slot if I'm not too late. I'm glad earth is the last one picked, since thats the one I wanted =P

Name: Turos

Gender: male

Age: 24 in Dwarf years.

Race: Dwarf. Short, has a beard, and is far stronger than the average human.

Appearance: Standing at 4'2", Turos is among the tallest of all dwarvenkind. His brown beard goes down to his stomach, and his blue eyes shine like sapphires. The temple has equipped him with ornately decorated bronze plate mail that barely fits around Turos's muscular figure, and his shimmering steel axes are tempered to perfection by his own hammer. He has a scar running from the top of his left ear to the lower jaw from a time when his earth powers first manifested to save his life.

Personality: Turos is a stubborn dwarf to say the least. He does not trust easy, but when he does, he has an unshakable loyalty. He can hold a grudge and isn't very quick to make his mind, but has great determination when he makes a decision. In battle, he prefers to get in the fray to take a hit for his allies.

Alignment: Good

History: Turos Ironhammer was of common dwarf lineage, and like all his fathers, he was signed up in the blacksmith guild at a very young age. He worked hard, and helped his masters forge many beautiful weapons and armorpieces as an apprentice. Sadly, later in his apprenticeship, the guild was low on money, and had to take up stonemasonry to afford its keep. At about this time, a band of ne'er-do-wells were travelling through his town, and "requested" some "protection" money. Barely having enough funds as it was, they couldn't afford it, so the group of thieves waged war on the failing guild. The rogues underestimated the skill and the gear of the blacksmiths and stonemasons, so the fight was quick and had few casualties on the dwarven side.

But this fight did change the guild as a whole. Everyone had battle wounds, be it a scar on the wrist or a missing leg. Turos had one of the most unlikely, as he suffered a sword blow to the face and still survived. This is when his powers of earth manifested, as he used a strong version of stoneform. Word quickly spread of the guild who trained the avatar of earth, and the guild's prestige went through the roof. The guild now recruited the apprentices with the most potential and the best of teachers, and Turos himself was granted the rank of Master Blacksmith and Stonemason.

Using his skill of smithing and sculpting in addition to his earth magic, Turos has become an outstanding artisan as well as heroic icon among dwarves. His skill with weapons, although by no means an expert, is well above average for warriors. These skills coupled with the evident earth magic proved to the temple that Turos was meant to be one of the elemental warriors.

Weapons: Two large steel axes, specially forged by Turos himself.

Powers:

-Stoneform- Turos literally turns into stone. He can choose his malleability, so by sacrificing speed he can boost his defense and strength.

-Earth Shot- Turos magically creates and fires rocks from his hands. They go very fast, swifter than they could be thrown. The smaller the rock, the faster they can be made and more rapidly can be shot.

-Shockwave- Turos causes a powerful shockwave to resonate around him, causing extreme earth damage to and knocking back nearby enemies.

Weaknesses: When Turos is using stoneform, his speed is inversely proportional to his defense and strength. When using earth shot, the instantaneous change of momentum requires him to either brace himself with his environment or earth magic, and either way he's immoble when using it. Otherwise, the backlash will cause him to skid/shift/fly backwards, depending on the situation. Shockwave uses a lot of energy, only hits enemies on the ground, and requires that Turos is on the ground.

Okay, the element positions are filled. Still room for one or two non-elemental guys if anyone still wants to join.

CallmePrismatic 06-04-2005 09:47 PM

Wow, Artemis is underpowered. Also, Pyros, that "stronger than 20 men" thing is a joke, right
New Powers:
Aquabeous Form: Can liquidize. With concetration Artemis can completly turn into malleable water, allowing for the bypass of walls and doors and travel unnoticed. In battle situations, where focus must be sacrificed to fight, it allows the user to bend their body in impossible angles and lengths to avoide melee strikes.
Ice Mist: Sprays a fine to heavy mist over a certain area, drenching all caught in it with a immobilizing ice. Can be focused to say, ice-cuff an attackers hands.

PyrosNine 06-04-2005 10:23 PM

Well, to be honest he's reigning hero of said war, capable of destroying entire mortal armies with naught but his bare hands, but he said to be more reasonable. It's more like the strength of 4 dragons, or perhaps 20 minotaurs. When properly motivated, he can "will" himself to do nigh impossible feats of strength, but he tries to be more of a swordsman than a brute of strength.

CallmePrismatic 06-04-2005 10:36 PM

Well, let me compile the list of characters.
Element - RPed By - Name of Character - Description of Character
Air - PhasmaRok - Pip - A former circus performer who adapted his abilities to fight
Water - CallmePrismatic - Artemis - A changeling thief
Earth - Bosolai - Turos - A dwarf blacksmith with above average combat prowess
Fire - PyrosNine - Firenze - hmm...

Yeah, those seem about even.
