World of Warcraft
 

World of Warcraft is a massive multiplayer online roleplaying game(mmorpg). i have heard that it is truly an amazing game. i havent been able to play it yet, but like i said, i have heard that it is good. does anyone else play this game?? what do you think of it??

I used to play WoW.. For a period of 2 weeks..

Personally I think it's overrated.. The graphics are nice and the gameplay is fun, but it just gets old.

I've only played a couple MMORPGs but as far as I can tell this is just another "Level up - Kill stuff - PK a bit - Earn some money - Lose yer social life" games.

Not trying to attack MMORPG-ers, I still play them. I just think this game is nothing special.

I also didn't really like the monthly fee, but hey just about every MMORPG has one, right?

I would suggest you download the game or try it on a friend's PC. You'll probably have more fun than I did =P

I'd just like to point out this isn't the first World of Warcraft thread. If you search for some of the older ones people post their usernames and whatnot.

As for me, I love this game. My only other MMORPG experience comes from FFXI, and I must say FFXI was very boring compared to WoW. Perhaps it is because I have other friends who play with me, or perhaps its because not all my warrior skills have a cooldown of 30 minutes.

That video was humorous.

I just picked it up and hit level 20 inside a week even with massive connection problems. Sure the quests are relatively the same and all you do is kill stuff most of the time but the locations change enough to make it fun. One of the greatest things to do is just explore.

Also, the whole job system is actually well down. I'm a warrior, smith, and minor which has been very usefull. I've had as much fun training my vocations as sliceing through hords of whatever happens to be in front of me. It's also nice that as a smith I can actually make items that are usefull. Everything but my belt and cape and my main hand weapon were forged by me. (Man do I love having the quick dagger for my off hand. It really helps.) All in all I think I could really go all the way in this game. Some of the things I've seen while on a gryphon really make me want to level a lot. (I've seen some huge dragons that I'd really like to take down at some point.)

This game is just getting good for me, they just launched battle grounds. now what battle grounds it is orginized team based combat, with modes like capture the flag and something similar to BF1942 where you out last the opposing faction . the thing that makes this fun, i play on the horde, and on my server theres a 3:1 population ratio in favor of the alliance, so there uste to outnumbering us in PVP, but with even teams they stand less of a chance. i havent lost a match of Battlegrounds yet, with my guild.

guild wars has no monthly fee.

any ways, ive played this game a bit, and have i think 4 diffrent people on them none higher then 12, I don own it so i cant play alot. The only thing I really liked doing was running as a level 7 undead cleric deep into enamy caricture and laugh as every one thought i was being used as bait by some high level, when in fact i was just bored and running around, and having a fight between a dwarf and a gnome on a mountain side, consisting of my dwarf ranger jumping up the cliff, shooting, then running like a little girl from my friend(the gnome warrior) untill i could shoot at him again, it took about 30 min for me to kill him, but we were having fun, then we got bored and logged off.

Its a little fun, but i think its funny that the advertise "dont kill rats to level up any more" and one of your mission is, kill 10 boers or some other weak stupid rat like beast.

From that I take it you've never been given a sword and told to "kill a boar." They're not rats. Believe me.

WoW is fun, but you really have to take the game slow unless you like grinding. Play it casual, or you run out of fun REALLY Fast

WOW hmmm its good but playing it slow and casual like said is better otherwise u get bored of it real fast. I like explorin and killin stuff but watch out for poeple, some got serious.......... pshycological... problems *cough*cough*, nonetheless i enjoy it.
