Tales of __ Games
 

Are there more Tales games aside from Symphonia? If so, how are they and should I look into it? :fighter:

Tales of Phantasia. Has a PS1 version, I've heard.

..and I believe there's some others, but that's the only one I know of by name.

Tales of Phantasia is one of my favorites on the SNES. It's never been formally translated from Japanese (probably because they didn't want us to know what they were really capable of programming) and I can't post to rom sites, but there is a translation out there.

EDIT: And yes, there is a Playstation version. It, too, was never formally translated.

Tales of Destiny?
 

What about Tales of Destiny? I've heard a few things, but... :fighter:

Tales of Phantasia - SNES
Tales of Destiny - PS
Tales of Destiny 2 - PS
Tales of Symphonia - Gamecube (right?)

I personally absolutely love Tales of Destiny the best of all of them. Absolutely wonderful in my opinion (still trying to get my hands on it so I can beat it, I'm close... so close to the ending, then the disk got scratched and so on.). Tales of Destiny 2 is okay too, but the first one is much better (and Tales of Destiny 2 has nothing to do with the first one, so don't think it's really a sequel, it's about as much of a sequel as the FFs are to each other)

Wait, what about Tales of Eternia?

Or was that just Tales of Destiny 2?

I'm pretty sure it was just Tales of Destiny 2. I looked up Tales of Eternia, and it had some screenshots with the exact same characters and screenshots and such from ToD2, so...

I still prefer ToD over all of them. Gotta love the talking swords and "IT!"

it says it's not coming out in japan until may of 2005 (which IS past, but I've had it for several years now) I think they are rereleasing it for the PSP, under the original title, or something like that.

Yeah, they're definitely rereleasing it, I'm just not sure what it was called in America. One of my FFXI buddies used to talk about ToE a lot, and a google search would always reveal matches. On closer inspection its ToD2, though.

tales is suposidly the third biggest franchise in japan, behind final fantasy in secound and dragon quest in first.

What!? Impossible!!!
