The Corpse Bride? Wha? - (Preview seen before Fantasic Four)

Tim Burton is a loon. Really. He's a creepy old certifiable nut-job (My apologies to the mentally impaired, no hard feelings, eh?)

In the style of 'A nightmare before christmas' Tim Burton brings us the very creepy tale of 'the corpse bride'. It stars (If you haven't seen this preview and you can guess who it is, you get half a cookie... Only half becuase its so obvious who would be the star of a Tim Burton film)

Anyone catch this? It looks well done, but very creepy. This kinda stuff tends to bother me a bit, so its doubtful I'll see it, but as a mild fan of stop-motion and clay-mation animation techniques, I'm intrigued. (also, unfortunatly for me, the 'corpse bride' is kinda good-looking... even with an eye that pops out cuase of maggots)

The Corpse Bride looks incredibly awesome. I can't say I expect another Nightmare Before Christmas out of this one, but it's most certainly going to be top notch.
(Oh, and since it wasn't linked here, The Preview looks awesome.)

You're just learning about this now? I've known about it for quite some time. Being a big Tim Burton fan, and a big Animation fan, any combination of the two is a must-see for me. I justlove Tim Burton's dark styles, which are typically done to just the right amount and don't seem to go overboard.

Hehe. Silly Johnny Depp.

It looks kinda cool but very disturbing. It would be something I would go see. It kinda creeps me out though. If its anything like The Night Before Christmas I'm sure I'll like it. Although, the story line is..odd.

Um, whoopee? Why don't you start a thread about it then, huh? Oh, wait... :p

And half a cookie for silly kitty.

Yeah its creepy. I guess its based off from this old jewish folk tale that was actually a bit more silly than the grim visuals Burton gives it... although I'm sure it'll be full of humour.

I hope that's sarcasm. If not, let me just say: you weren't going to post the preview and I figured it should be her so I posted it. Don't get territorial, it's not like you staked out land and signed deeds to make this thread. (I don't want to turn this into a flame, but I don't get the hostility; all I did was link a preview.)

whinemoan, he isnt being hostile. he's just joking around. think of it as a competition between who gets the most info. dont think too much of what he said.

anyway, seems like another Burton classic. i really feel like seeing The Nightmare Before Christmas again.

Dude. That was totally a joke. See, I was going to edit my post to include the site link, but you beat me with the trailer video link. I really didn't mean any hostility, and any sarcasm there was directed at myself.

Sorry. Thats how I roll. Its all fun and games here at the NPF.

Back on topic now, everyone. Let's move along.

Mashirosen 07-10-2005 12:11 PM

Moving, sir!

In spite of the fact that I know the theater will be filled with obnoxious chubby HIM fans in "You laugh at me because I have to buy my personality from Hot Topic, I laugh at you because it beats crying into my Invader Zim plushie alone at night" t-shirts, and in spite of the fact that Johnny Depp is starting to wear out his welcome a little, I still want to see it because deep down I'm the same fruity Sandman-TPB-clutching spookynerd as every other Tim Burton nut.

I can't tell from the trailers -- are there going to be musical numbers like in Nightmare Before Christmas?
