Shadowrun Sign-Up

Whew, I finally got it up. Modified the original sign-up, it was too long to post normally, so I shrunk the whole think down to a text attachment. So anyone interested in joining, the information you need is in the attachment.

Damn... I thought you were simplifing it... At the moment, I call mercenary... Or combat decker...

Forever Zero 12-30-2003 02:42 PM

Well, it's not creating your own character which is more complicated...

I wasn't sure whether it would be easier to just list the stats which have fewer words but say less about what each class does, or list the descriptions which is longer but tells more about what your character will do, so I went with the descriptions. It's not super comlicated, just very long.

Also, if anyone wants a sort of combat medic class, one that can fight bad guys (although not well) and heals up their allies with medkits and such, they can be that too since there is no dedicated medic class, and magicians healing can only do so much before a real medic or doctor needs to heal a wound.

Can we have duplicated character classes? I would like to play a renegade Tir paladin/Ghost (I'll explain this int he bio). Would it be acceptable?

Forever Zero 12-30-2003 02:53 PM

Sure, if you'll explain it in the bio like you said, because I have no clue what that is. Also if it has stats or anything, you can PM them to me if you want to give me a better idea of what your character can do.

IHateMakingNames 12-30-2003 02:56 PM

I just want a shotgun... I can't decide between pumping myself up with magic(Adept), a rocket launcher(Mercenary), or a hacker(Decker)

Forever Zero 12-30-2003 03:16 PM

Well Adept is sort of an enlightened warrior, and they usually fight unarmed or in melee because that's where they get their combat bonuses, although they can use guns. Mercenary is your all around bruiser, they carry heavy machine guns and rocket launchers, and their main skill is heavy weapons and blowing stuff up, so a shotgun works fine for them. The Combat decker is like a Tech-Wiz, only the Tech-Wiz focuses on just being a super-decker, while the Combat Decker has some decking and electronics skills, but can also shoot a gun fairly well, so it all depends on how you want you character to act and what you want him to do for the team. If you want to avoid the extra rules of the Matrix, go Adept, which is a sort of mage-lite and doesn't have all the magic rules or Astral Plane to worry about, or Mercenary, who can shoot his way out of any situation and can get access to heavy weapons later on for the group. Otherwise if you want the Matrix, go with the Combat Decker, who will go in the Matrix and deal with most of the electronics and electronic security problems the team might have.

Name: Nenessa "Angela" Imiri

Race: Elf

Sex: Female

Age: 24

Character Class: Street Mage intrusion specialist(ex-Black Dagger)

Equipment:

Savalette Guardian SMG w/ Smartlink II and a silencer (a cybernetic modification that allows for better fire control and targeting)
Mageblade magical focus Imiri, taking the form of a short sword.
Very high grade computer access implant, Smartlink II targeting implant, mnemonic enhancer and a trauma damper, as well as cybereyes and cyberears. (This stuff is very high-grade, installed during agent training, and doesn't interfere much with magic)
Full body camouflage suit, ballistic jacket and a ballistic coat

(items in italics are stolen or will be stolen soon after the RP starts)

Description: Slim, delicate and willowy, like your average elf. Around five-foot six, with blue-green eyes. She has had her ears and face altered through surgery to better blend in with the human population, and combined with her disguise skills, often passes for one. A visual summary can be found here.

Bio: (SR vets, don't kill me now...)

Nenessa is (or rather was, but we'll get to that later) a member of the Tir Tairngire Special Forces, better known as the Ghosts. More specifically, she is an operative of the Black Daggers , who specialize in black-ops wetwork. However, she was selected for the Black Daggers based on her talent for medicine rather than experience, so she is not as deadly as her counterparts, though she is still a highly proficient special forces soldier by anybody's standards.

She turned renegade when she was framed for the murder of a prominent member of the Council of Princes. Fleeing her former comrades, she ended up nearly penniless, unable to draw on either her black-ops or real-life resources for fear of attracting their attention. She turned to shadowrunning for money, while figuring out how to clear her name or be rid of the stigma forever. Though she desperately wants to contact her old friends and family, she cannot - again, to avoid detection, but also to prevent the Ghosts from using them as leverage against her. Nenessa is currently en route to Chicago, where she hopes to be able to make a fresh start after a near-fatal encoutner with the Daggers in Singapore.

Nenessa is a highly competent mage whose focus is on stealth and covert elimination. She can summon elementals for major firefights but would rather not get into those situations in the first place. Her implants (being of extremely high quality and definteily out of reach of most normal runners) do not affect her magical abilites much, while still allowing her to enjoy some of the advantages her chromed friends do. If properly equipped and prepared she can take on an entire runner team and win, though that would require far more resources than she has.

Extra: She is currently being hunted by the Elven Council and their agents (usually Ghosts like her, occasionally an elite paladin). Thus she is almost penniless, has few contacts and is on the run. Only a few people know her real name - everyone else calls her Angie or Angela.

(This bio is subject to change as I get new and better ideas, but the core is there.)

Forever Zero 12-30-2003 04:09 PM

Only comment would be to have her start shadowrunning in another city, and is heading to Chicago because she heard of all the good opportunities for runs there, although she, like the others, have only heard there are good opportunites for runs and hasn't heard about exactly what is going on there since the government and Megacorps are covering up the bug problem to the outside world. We will start the RP en route to Chicago.

Right. We are changing now.
