Mega Man Battle Network: 3

I just got this game like 2 days ago and I think it rocks! What's everyone else think of it? What's your favorite chip?

CO Cheddar 12-30-2003 07:12 PM

I like it, although it frustrates me beyond reason at times. If the game has one flaw, it's that Viruses late in the game are hard to get chips off of. As for my favorite chip, I like the Plantman chips because they damage all enemies multiple times and link with Hero Sword and Elemental Sword Chips (Fire, Aqua, Elec and Bamboo) due to their P Code.

I liked the classic stepsword chips. The game really ticked me off later when the clues and puzzles made absolutely no sense at all. The battle system is cool, but I wanted to skip everthing in between.

I have really been unimpressed with capcom lately. I've been a megaman fan since the nes era but somewhere during the playstation time something went wrong. Mega man X6 took away power gaining. Mega Man battle Network is just a little too kiddie but it has it's good points. I have heard Mega Man X7 is allright except for the 3d is rather useless. Mega Man Zero went to the classic gameplay which I thought was excellent. But the mission system as well as lives annoyed me (I heard this was fixed in Zero 2). The other major problem with Zero was the view; the camera was not back far enough so you could not see the enemies you had to kill. Surprises are fine but not when I take up most of the screen.

I managed to find Zero 2 on the ground, but its... semi-broken. lol
But I agree, I tried X8 I think (or X6, unsure) where you start the game fighting sigma, then like the world explodes and you have to go fight zero or something. Where there was a meteor or bomb heading to earth and you had to beat bosses to get parts for it. God that was so lame.
The game sucked. nothing compared to original X.

That was X5. And yes I agree the series went bad after X4.

I never owned a PS1/2, so I've never played past X3. But I agree, MMX was god. The idea of upgrade capsules was unique, the game was smooth and hard, and the bosses were quite challenging; for the ability to be both easy and hard, I consider the original Sigma to be one of the greatest bosses of all time. Ahh, the good old days...

When will they make Megaman 9 anyway? It's starting to tick me off, this lack of a tie-together.

I hated original Sigma... Last form only hurt by fully charged normal blaster... 1 bar each time hit...

CO Cheddar 12-31-2003 02:08 AM

I don't know when they'll make a MM9. They really should revive the Original and Legends series, since both show almost limitless potential. It would make a lot of fans happy as well, so it would be a win-win situation for Capcom.

if you used the armadillo's roller blast...attack...thingy...it would do 2 points of damage.

i honestly dont know what capcom was thinking with the battle network concept. when i saw the first one on the game boy i just lost all intrest in the megaman franchise.
