"I don't like it. It depends to much on you making it in there. What happens if you get killed before you reach the objective. We can't finish it on our own, and they still have their super weapon.

"I got an idea. What about, instead of destroying their weapons, we use them. Take out the officers. I could scare the shit out of them, while Tama could get the weapon, turn it around, and blow them all to hell."

"We don't know how to work it. I'm sure Lynx could figure it out, but magical weapons aren't my forte."

"Too bad he left."

One of the temple guard burst in. "SIR! We need you on the wall sir!" Ark bolted out.

To their credit, Cid's army had moved fast. They were now only about half a mile away. "Whatever you guys are gonna' do, do it fast."

He looked at one of the commanders. "Get the trebuchets firing, now!" In response, the massive inventions launched out giant blocks of stone, which landed and rolled through a whole bunch of troops.

"We got like, 20 minutes till they hit. Crunch-time now boys."

OOC: Any complaints about that having happened?

OOC: How long has it been since we left?

Vace had been thinking, but said, "Well, sometimes in life if you want to win big you have to risk big. This is war, and if we don't take out this weapon, I'm not sure if we'll have a lot of choice what we do soon. I don't like this plan, but I'll still go with it."

"I'll do my best to hold the walls. Get me a signal somehow, and I'll get the calvary to come out to play with Cid's new friends."

He glanced at a trebuchet operator. "Did I say to stop firing?"

He turned his attention back to Vace. "We need to buy a few more hours for everyone else to get to safety. We don't need to win."

"Mangonels Fire!!!" Gin said running back to the tops of the gate. but it was to late. Two thunderous booms came from Cid's battle lines. a whistling could be heard over head. A loud detonation over head of the gate Mangonel crew and the position was peppered with burning shrapnel. "IF YOU'RE GOING TO DO SOMETHING TAMA DO IT NOW!!!"

Ark raised his arm and yelled, "FIRE AT WILL!" Bows twanged as their deadly cargo was unleashed. Men at the front of the lines jerked as they were hit.

Ark walked forward to near the front, and drew his sword. The blade was glowing with a dim eery green light. "Get going you guys. I'll hold the wall." His retinue closed around him, and drew their elegant hand and a half swords.

Cid's weapons began to batter the gates and wall. The ground shook with the thunder of the guns. His mortars shredded flesh from bone and set fires to the rooves of buildings near the wall. "Get those fires out!" Gin shouted. The gates wouldn't hold against the onslaught for long.
