FF RP Ch. 2: Kage
[ooc]The title is how I want it, don't say I spelled it wrong. Also, sorry SS but I don't think an unauthorized civilian in a military camp could be let to roam, so either your guy got a disguise, or he's the guy with the spoon.
Don't ask about the spoon either.[/ooc] One by one the masked figures appeared, silent and almost motionless as they looked at all who had been here before them. Then, without warning, bolts of lightning came forth from one of them, striking targets indiscrimately. Screams filled the air, and those who still would not submit were quickly brought to their end. In this quick lesson of loyalty those who cried for mercy joined his side, in fear of what power would be unleashed upon them again should they resist. Without a word they disappeared just as quickly as they left, the corpses being the only evidence they were ever there. *** The airship had crashed, General Clique was surrounded on both sides, and the counterstrike had been mostly eradicated. Surviving members of the Rab were taken hostage after a quick surrender. N'Revat set up a makeshift POW camp to hold their prisoners, placing them in tents guarded by mostly by the Magitek Knights. Without their weapons and a dampening field around them the Rab had little hope of any escape. The General, along with several influential commanders, was being questioned. Ripel and the rest had been taken to various tents. Though it might not have steel bars it did not change the fact that he was like a bird in a cage, unable to break free of his prison. There were a few others here in this cage as well, including Blyr, a childhood friend of his, and some guy who didn't appear to be with the military who seemed to be trying frantically to dig his way out with a spoon. He didn't know what happened to the others, but his guess was that the rest had surrendered and been placed in tents like his, or...died resisting. Whatever their fate he could not be sure from in here. Byr sighed, shaking his head. "I guess things didn't turn out the way we expected." Ripel hesitated before answering. "Not at all...I knew this could happen all along. I did warn you, remember?" "Oh...yeah," Blyr said, the memory coming back to him. "Well, why did you join then?" "If I didn't at least try it would be my sin for not attempting to protect my home. Besides, if I didn't how could I expect someone else to?" "Oh, I see your point. So, what do you think is going to happen now?" "We may get executed." "You're joking, right?" "..." |
An over weight fighter in Rab uniform (Or whatever the captured Rab are wearing) ran around the prisoners of war camp, spreading rumors of execution when the N'evat get the information they want.
|
An elderly looking man in a N'revat officer uniform walked among the Rab P.O.W. camp, smiling and swinging his cane around.
"Excuse me, have you seen...hmm, I think it was Deamon? A monkish sort of fellow, iron knuckles, black chocobo? No...very well then..." The man said. Luce wasn't going to give up...Deamon would turn up soon enough... |
Dezil smiled as he changed his clothes in his tent. Thanks to him, he had been able to nullify the effects of the Rab mages and helped to turn the tide of the battle with the superior Magiteks he designed. It was a good day for him, and after he changed his clothes and took a rest, he was going to suit up again to watch over the prisoners to make sure they didn't try anything. He walked through the camp, watching lines of soldiers watching for troubles, massive Magitek armor stomping around the prisoners tents, and equipment being loaded and readied so that soon they could continue their march to the capital of the Kingdom of Rab.
|
Arc kept as silent as he possibly could. He was currently stuck in a partially covered ledge with guards walking underneath him. He'd been like this for the past two hours. His arms were gettin' REALLY tired.
He'd wandered into the battlefield and was thought to be a spy. When his capturs weren't looking, he picked the locks, and ran away. Then grabbed all his stuff. Now, he was trying to figure out how to get out of this damn place. He pushed himself slowly forward so he fully obscured, and got onto a small ledge. Patrols every two minutes or so, and it would take him 4 to get out of sight. That was a problem. |
Ciaran sat in his camp, lounging with a bowl of grapes. After a few moments he turns to a man standing near him and speaks, "Go and get Dezil, I'd like to personally congratulate him... and General Clique as well. I have some questions for him about the defenses of his country."
The man servant nods quietly, and turns to leave, but Ciaran stops him at the door. "Oh yes... and send in some entertainment once I'm finished with Dezil and Clique as well... Things are so dreadfully boring since the battle ended." The manservant nods again and strides out of the tent purposefully, presumably to go and retrieve the people that Ciaran wished to see. |
As Dezil returned to the workshop set up to maintain the Magiteks, he found a nifty Magitek Fire Rifle, and decides to hold on to it, never knowing when his Magitek Armor might fail him and he would have to battle on foot. Suddenly a messenger appears, and orders him to see General Ciaran.
Dezil follows the messenger into Ciarans tent, and notices the lavish surrounding. <Nice tent, even for a general.> Then comes to attention and says, "First Engineer Dezil reporting, general." |
"Well, I'm glad that it's over..." Carolina walked along with her tent mates from earlier amongst the POW tents.
"I suppose. We'll probably have to do some more with our troops that were injured..." "I KNOW that..." Carolina rolled her eyes a little. "I'm talking the fact that there's no more fighting. I'm ready to just get back home and be able to relax... or maybe go to that bar that jerk Arc is wanting to meet me at." The other mage raised a brow. "That man from the tent? What's the thing between you two anyway?" "Ugh... don't get me started.... He's nothing but a liar and a thief... before that, he was actually a nice person." She sighed a bit as they passed near the N'revat general's tent. The other mage laughed a bit. "Oh, so you had the hots for him." "Gah! It... it wasn't like that..." She blushed a bright red, yet despite her saying it wasn't the other two mages continued to pick on her while they were on their break of sorts. |
Ciaran nodded at the engineer as he entered the tent and after a few seconds, began to speak, "Please relax..." He stopped speaking for a second and pointed over to a small cabinet full of fresh fruit and various beverages. "Please, help yourself... you've earned it." Ciaran didn't bother to wait for Dezil to speak or move before continuing.
"I called you here to congratulate you on your performance today... you and your troops did excellently. I'm going to double your pay for this month... but I'd also like to hear a debriefing on your manuevers today." Ciaran stopped for just a minute looking at the engineer carefully. "Also... I was wondering how the antimagic shields work..." |
After Dezil went and got a drink, he said, "Well, the new Magitek armors I was testing work excellently. With the new arm blades, they can manipulate objects with their hands, but extend the blade in battle to prove a fearsome weapon in close combat, which has always been one of the Magitek's weakest points. The modifed smaller Tek missiles allow for each Magitek to carry more ordinance before needing to reload, another plus."
"As to the anti-magic shield, well you see, magicians can use two magic spells called 'Reflect' and 'Wall', that allows them to reflect enemy magic back at them and to dampen enemy magic used agianst them that penetrates the reflect field. Well, reflect basically produces a wall that magic can't penetrate, and wall produces a field around the mage that weakens all magic in it, but not magic leaving it, so we used our top mages, the ones that enfuse Magicite with it's magical abilities, to try something different. Normally Magicite is infused with either fire magic or lightning magic since it is easier to harness those types of energy to power our Magitek weapons and armor. Instead, we asked them to also include a seperate Magicite infused with the spells 'Reflect' and 'Wall'. When we activate a device I designed to pump energy straight through this crystal, it agitates the crystal and generates the anti-magic field, that has the properties of producing no magic like the 'Reflect' spell, and the field effect of the 'Wall' spell, to make a field were magic simply cannot exist. It has been under testing for a long time, and we had to work closely with our mages to make it work, and in all honestly, these Magiteks were the first batch produced with our first batch of working Anti-Magic Magicite, so I was worried it might fail during the battle, but it held up and proved a valuable part of the battle. I hope I explained it well enough without getting too much into 'Engineer speak', sir." Dezil concluded, drinking from his glass. |
