Carolina dropped the potions as he kissed her quickly, a look of panic and embarrassment written on her face. He was soon gone though only leaving her with the note, card, and fury that quickly forced itself over to hide the fact that she was embarrassed.

"You are really a jerk you know!!!" She yelled to him as he ran off, shoving the note and such into her robes quickly and huffily picking up the potions. "I really can't believe him... grrrrr..."

Ripel almost flinched as that...general drove the blade deeper into his body. He almost lashed out, but he restrained himself. It wasn't just his life that was on the line. "General...just tell them."
"What?!" Clique's eyes flew open and looked at his underling, but Ripel looked away.
"General, if it was just me who would be sacrificed then that would fine, but...everyone else will pay too. Besides, anything they do will be under 'their' watchful eye."
Clique sighed, and looked towards Ciaran. "Fine...what the hell does a rat like you want to know?

Cecil looked at the soldier Ciaran was torturing. Hm... A coward who breaks under torture... I should remember his face...

Dante 01-01-2004 10:54 PM

Dante feigned embarassment and turned away.

"I... I guess I shouldn't have seen that... sorry..."

He turned away and minced towards the guard, hoping that the mask would still hold up under the anitmagic field. It was quite an effective disguise... it adhered to the face and could change its features at will, and even if the effect was dispelled, the mask would still hold the "memory" of the last face it had been made to imitate. Of course, it wouldn't be as lifelike as if the magic was still active, but it would serve to pass a cursory examination.

Of course, the other physical changes, to height and weight, for example, would disappear. Dante ahd to hope that this guard wasn't the groping kind...

Ciaran flicked his blade out of the wound on Ripel's shoulder quickly, causing a small smattering of blood to splash on the ground. A grin spread across the N'Revat general's face as he turned back to Clique.

"You know... your underling is smarter than he looks. You're wise to take his council. Now then... who are the 'they', that your soldier here was talking about." Ciaran casually flicked his sword up to point towards Ripel as he mentioned the soldier.

Clique let out a low sigh, obviously struggling with the frustration of his hopeless situation, before answering, "Geomancers and Trainers... they watch everything through the land and the animals... we have lots of them. You can't get in without being seen. No one can."

Ciaran let out a little sigh at the response. It wasn't what he was hoping for, but when he thought about it a little bit, his smug smirk returned. At least I won't be bored... the more battles the better.

"Well then... that's somewhat disappointing. Oh well... I suppose I'll ask how you'd attack Rab if you were in the position to do so. I'm not sure why, after all, you're obviously not a very good general, but I suppose your input may be useful. So... how WOULD you attack Rab."

Clique growled a bit at the further taunting and spit at his captor, refusing to cooperate, although just for an instant. Ciaran's face never lost his smirk, even as he wiped the saliva from his cheek and flicked his blade to Ripel's stomach, slowly pushing it in a bit.

"I believe you should reconsider your reply..."

Clique growled, pressing his eyes closed again and did so, speaking through clenched teeth.

"There's only one way... by air." As he said by air, Clique seemed to realize something and opened his eyes again, an insolent smirk appearing on his face. "But you just destroyed one of the only airships."

Ciaran sighed. "So I did..." As he finished the sentence, however, he pushed the blade fully through Ripel's stomach, and, as the man fell unconcious and slumped forward on the blade, Ciaran leaned in to whisper to one of the guards.

"Get him to the healing tents quickly, he should survive the wound... but make sure no one else sees his face. I want Clique to believe him dead. Put him in solitary."

The guard nodded, and gestured to one of the other guards, the two picking Ripel up and carrying him out of the tent quickly. Once they were gone, Ciaran turned back to Clique, who appeared to be in a state of shock at seeing the man 'killed', or at least, led to believe the man was killed. Ciaran wiped off his sword and spoke to Clique, breaking him from his shock.

"You shouldn't have been so insolent... well... at least only one of your men had to die."

Clique blinked and then looked at Ciaran, with pure rage in his eyes. "You BASTARD!" The chained man leaped toward the N'Revat general, but was quickly knocked unconcious by the soldier still guarding him, and drug off. Once Cecil and Ciaran were alone in the tent again, the general turned toward his guest.

"And that is how you use a general's own soldiers against him."

IHateMakingNames 01-01-2004 11:07 PM

"Hm... Intresting... Especially with the fake killing of that one guy..." Cecil said, thinking over what had happened. He was smiling as he was thinking it over.

Dante 01-01-2004 11:11 PM

...and fortunately he wasn't. Sentry duty was long and boring, especially when one had to stand at attention without sleep for hours on end. The guard was leaning on his spear and barely noticed Dante's entrance. Once inside, he secured directions to the prisoners and asked to be alone. He doled out the potions one by one, noting with some surprise the Chocobo in the pen with them. There didn't seem to be anyone of importance here. He made the necessary excuses and left quietly.

OOC: The Bluemage is basically dead at the moment...

Krylo 01-01-2004 11:15 PM

Ciaran nodded and sheathed his sword as he returned to his chair and his drink. He took a slow sip, still smirking.

"Yes... I'll admit that was more fun, just to watch the General's reaction than it was anything to do with interrogation." He took another sip of his drink and then looked back arching an eyebrow at Cecil. "I am a bit surprised that you noticed it was a fake though..."

(OOC: Yah... you'd find him on a table with a hole in his gut and a bunch of people administrating phoenix downs, probably... not in a cell anywhere. And then once he was healed... he'd be in solitary.)

IHateMakingNames 01-01-2004 11:19 PM

Cecil smirked himself at Ciaran's comment. "You didn't puncture a vital spot, and I heard what you said to the guard..."

OOC: And I doubt a guy in robes pretending to be a girl would get past the guards Ciaran would use to guard him.
