Ciaran turned back, getting comfortable in his chair and nodded amicably, taking another sip of his drink. He then pointed to the same cabinet that he showed to Dezil.
"You may help yourself to a drink if you like... and I'm still a bit impressed by how perceptive you are. Most wouldn't have noticed what I punctured... Clique didn't seem to, at least." Ciaran then slowly swished his drink about in his glass, and took another sip before continuing. "So, tell me, Cecil... given what we just learned, how would you attack Rab? I have a bit of a plan myself, I'm just curious to see if your cognitive thinking is as sharp as your perception." |
"Well, the man had his eyes closed. Obviously he wouldn't notice." Cecil moved around in his chair a bit, getting comfortable. "I would bring in airships and reinforcements, making sure a large force of N'evat's best summoners came, along with some seige weapons. If I remember correctly, there is a rather large city further north. First I would pressure the killing of the prisoners to enclose the distance between our forces and the city. Once we are close enough to secure a seige, I would release the prisoners into the city, with no said reasons. Obviously, they would take them in and shelter them. The airships and reinforcements would keep out the Rab reinforcments, the summons being a force of their own. Our original force and seige weapons would keep the city locked in. With our seige, they city would run out of supplies and starve, forcing them to surrender." Cecil sat back, waiting for his evaluation.

OOC: Meh. Changed.

Back in one of the POW tents, Blyr was pacing while in deep thought. What could they have done with Ripel? I'm sure they needed him for more than toilet scrubbing or KP duty...both chocobos look worried, especially Boco. I don't blame him; if I was a chocobo and my trainer was dragged off to an uncertain fate, I'd be worried, too. Perhaps if I try to get in tune with the earth by meditation, I could find some answers.
He then sat down in a relaxed position. Now, time to free my mind... He felt a brief flash of pain, and he saw a familiar body fall limply to the ground. All this hapened in Blyr's subconcious, in what seemed to be about 5 seconds. When Blyr awoke he was flat on the ground, with Tyrq, Toc, and Boco looking down at him. "What the heck were you doing?" Tyrq exclaimed. "What exactly did I do that was so surprising? It was only simple meditation." "Yeah, but sitting still for 5 minutes, then shaking violently on the ground meditating?" "Whatever. I think Ripel is in trouble." |
Ciaran smirked and nodded slowly thinking for a moment.
"Technically a wonderful plan of attack. It would work... few casualities on either side... force them to surrender. Cautious... slow... completely safe and assured. Boring." Ciaran snickered a little bit before continuing. "You see, Cecil, I'm an impatient man, and as such... I don't want to wait for a siege to be completed. No... my plan will take few soldiers, and less time... but will be a bit more bloody. First we send all but a few of the important prisoners... Clique, for example, off to our capital with a small contingent of our forces and a report to the throne. Then we have Dezil repair the enemy airship we have sitting here. Once we have their airship repaired, we load all of our troops here into it, stealing enemy uniforms for all of our them... and we simply fly right in. Once we're in the city, we proceed to destroy it from the inside out, looting, plundering, killing. It's simply not fun if there's no chance of failure." |
"Aw, but what if Clique or any of the soldiers sent back inform the Rad that the airship was destroyed? A messager would be sent, and when we come flying it, we would be shot down in seconds."
|
Ciaran waved a hand dismissively and chuckled.
"Who says we're sending them back home? We're keeping any that aren't sent to N'Revat as an insurance policy... trade the general for our escape if things go sour. I suppose we COULD kill all the prisoners that we can't fit aboard the airship, however. It would be safer. Hmm... perhaps a bit of a compromise. Send back a messenger ahead of the POWs to the N'Revat requesting reinforcements to siege the city once we've landed there?" |
"Oh, you said our capital, not their... And it is your call, am I just here to observe."
|
Ciaran noded and called in one of his guards from his entryway, and the man entered quickly, saluting Ciaran.
"Yes, sir?" The guard questioned, immediately after entering the tent. "Bring me Dezil. I have some things I want to discuss with him." Yes, Sir." And the guard was gone to retrieve the engineer. Ciaran turned his attention back to his drink sipping at it languidly, and speaking to Cecil, without bothering to look at him. "Yes... I believe that should work... a bit of safety, but more than that, a bit of excitement. I must wonder though... why did they send you to observe me? I was under the impression that those old men didn't particularily like me..." |
Cecil snickered to himself, getting up to get a drink. He responded while searching through the cabinet for a good year. "Oh yes, they all don't like you... Being an evil lord and all you are. They have their own skeletons they need to keep hidden though. But, your the only General who was sent out and is currently in action." When he finished, he had found the drink he wanted. Instead of getting a glass though, he took the entire bottle and returned to his seat.
