Hmm, I'll have to think of a reason why Kirakiri wouldn't just kill Akimoto.

I was undering the assumption that what was going on in the last part of your post was happening "now" in game time, see Raiden's post of Takin going off to repair what you took out.

So, I figured whatever fight I put up would make enough noise to have the people who have something left in them come down and make sure that A) You don't cause a feed-back loop which would destroy the airship which is somewhat important to the plot, and B) prevent deathage on the part of Akimoto.

He's dead tired, but he'll put up some fight. He is a half-demon after all. He just doesn't have the juice to last long, seeming as he's already tired and doesn't have any rocks to make spears or walls out of. But fights tend to be somewhat loud.

Then again, maybe it's just the fact I'm as tired as everyone else posting on this thread. I need some sleep...I have an eight hour day ahead of me....::cry::

Arhra 07-23-2005 02:26 AM

Ah, it was just a little hard for me to tell how long Akimoto was lost in the ship's bowels for. Looking more closely at the tenses, I can see now. Hmm, unfortunately it seems my character is in two places at once. Fortunately he can actually do that.

Can we please slow down this RP. Some people here are in different Time Zones and are sleeping while you guys fill up seven pages worth of post's. Why don't we just limit the posting to 36 posts a day?

Krylo 07-23-2005 04:13 AM

Limiting posting to x number per day wouldn't help at all.

The same people who are actually conscious/not at work would get those 36 posts and the people who work/sleep wouldn't get any at all. Ever.

And limiting the number of posts each person can make or making each person get one makes all sorts of problems too, mostly including slowing the RP down TOO much. Some people can't even post every day. I'm one of those. Sometimes I spend an entire day doing things away from the computer and can't get on to make a post. Sometimes I spend three days.

Does anyone want the RP to pause for three days?

For that matter, does anyone want a T1 styled player duel to last 24 hours between posts because some people can't log on until the exact opposite time of the day?

Besides, your time zone concern is weak, considering Dante keeps up and he's in Singapore while most of us are state side.

I'd like it to slow down myself, because, again, I have a job, I have a girlfriend, and I have to sleep sometimes, BUT any plan for slowing it down, other than people dropping out, only results in more problems of equal or greater annoyance.

Maybe restricting people to 1 post per hour per person... but then you'll have problems where two people wanted to fight or whatever, and some ass getting in the middle of it with stupidity or things going awry.

Speaking of asses...

Not only did it not make sense; but it was so very out of context from everything else that was going on. Why is it your character can seem to do anything he pleases? It dosn't make any sense. In fact I don't think even ONE of your posts has made sense. So I must ask, in the name of all roleplayers ever, ...whaaaa!

He's completely right.

Firstly: The fight is over now. The good guys are all gone, with the apparent exception of yourself, who, somehow, completely avoided the backlash which knocked EVERYONE around, despite being in a tree, which should of been evaporated.

Secondly: God mode much? You can teleport at will, you can fly, you can summon things, you can shoot fire balls, you can summon storms, and you can do it all INSTANTLY and without leaving yourself weakened at all. Chikane can do some of that stuff, but she has to concentrate for a while and it actually leaves her weak. You're just throwing shit out left and right.

Thirdly: You completely ignored DB's attack on you. Not only should the tree you're in have been evaporated, but he used his wind demon powers to throw all the hail from your storm straight back at you, harder than hail falls. You should be getting pelted by a ton of little icy rocks and/or doing something to avoid that.

Actually, you should have been doing that like 20 posts ago, at this point you should be on the air ship with the rest of the good guys... or you're alone, with all the bad guys, who can and will kill you.

Not to mention the hail storm post not making much sense either. The bad guys weren't all grouped off to the side or anything, they were all combating the good guys, right next to them. And the bad guys are mostly demons. Your hail storm would have left most of the bad guys in fine condition while beating the hell out of the good guys, if Raikotsu hadn't decided he didn't want to get pelted by ice.

GARUD 07-23-2005 04:39 AM

OOh, sorry about that. I didnt notice what was going on. Ill delete my post right away. But I just thought I had to respond. This roleplaying is going far too fast for me.

*sniffles and wipes away a tear* I am an ass....

lol, anyways. Something I have always felt works pretty well for RP limitation is allowing 1 action post for every 2 hours and 1 reaction post for every action post that directly involves you.

For example: Player A posts that he is walking down a country road. Player B posts that he is attacking player A. So now player A gets to post saying what he dose in defense. Now they have to wait the two hours before posting again unless Player C dose something directly effecting one or both of them.

Of course this isn't an all purpose solution, sense as many people have pointed out, there are time table conflicts. However, it would at the very least allow people to interject interactions. I know there are many times where a post you want to make only works right after the last post you read. and you spend 15-30 minutes writing it up and then find out that someone who had just posted has already posted again, completely destroying the coherency of your post. Such as with what could have happened to Krylo today had he missed his hole in the posting.

anyways I should really be asleep, I have shit to do tomorrow....today. Peace out yo.

No you are not.

Now, I have edited my post. Hope you people like it, as my original was all over the place. It wasen't in context, but I was late and a bit too much for one person at one time.

Finally my character finds the group, and joins it if another person finds him.

Off topic: Now, a big happy birthday to Raiden, our RP maker. May your life always be filled with joy and happiness.

Raiden 07-23-2005 10:07 AM

Thanks for the congrats.

And I will say it now. I have no intention of limiting posts, or putting in a system that limits said posts. Those systems tend to annoy me, and any RP I've been in that uses it, it worked for a while, but it then deteriorated and it went back to normal.

All I can say is, just use common sense about posting. If it's a big fight scene, don't go super fast. Wait a while before posting again.

And Garud. I'm instigating what I call the Gandolf rule. By casting big magic, you're gonna get tired. The bigger magic you cast, the less likely you're going to cast it again. Dante has the feel for it, so I never really had to apply it yet. But, since your guy has demon magic, and sadly, you seem to abuse it a bit, we're putting it in effect. It doesn't restrict what magic you cast, just how often you cast it, and when you can cast it.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BUDDY! *brings the beer*

I'm gonna agree with Krylo about Garud's post. It makes little sense. See, the "wolves" were actually shadow-creatures, I redirected your hailstorm, and Talkaz is spelled Talkatz.

Truce 07-23-2005 12:53 PM

Kuruma and company will be going after the three pieces of Talkatz, right?

Oh, and happy birthday Raiden!
