"I don't think you have time to ask what that sound was. I'm sure you've figured out this place is crawling with marines by now... and they've taken Adam past some sort of security check point," Killik responded to Raze'el, with an uncharacteristically serious tone. "You know where the others are, we've got to do something to get him out of there, but I don't think I can raid them on my own."

(OOC: finally, I have time ot catch up. After monday I SHOULD be better with posting)

"I don't suppose you might need an extra hand or two?" Sarith spoke up from behind Killik. She had followed him from where she had first spotted him, and after she had witnessed him killing a reliance officer, she was certain that these people were needing to get off of the space station as badly as she did.

"My name is Sarith, and I'm a 'blade for hire' so to speak." She said, matter-of-factly, "And I would be willing to help your out, if you would be willing to get me off of this space station."

"Now hold on a minute, I'm not exactly a--" Raze'el started, holding up a palm.

"I don't suppose you might need an extra hand or two? My name is Sarith, and I'm a 'blade for hire' so to speak," Sarith told him matter-of-factly. "And I would be willing to help you out, if you would be willing to get me off of this space station."

Spotting a bit of an opportunity, Raze'el arched an eyebrow and asked her, "That suit, is it for show or do you have a trick or two for breaking a prisoner out of a holding cell?"

He watched her face as she turned to speak, and knew the answer was "yes" before she even said anything. Walking past her and Killik, he said, "Good, you're hired. No time for talk; Killik, where's this holding cell of yours?"

Julice strained her ears. "Aw, shit." She moved close to the edge of the wall and peeked around the corner. "I figured they would respond to us with bigger guns if we took out enough marines."
Julice saw the 12 foot monstrosity making its way closer to where they were, the Gravity Module keeping it from floating uselessly. "A Battle Armor. God, I'd love to drive one of those babies. Too bad I didn't bring any EMP grenades, or I'd have my chance." Julice ducked back behind the wall before she could be spotted.

"Nah. The reliance has very recently starting strapping remote detonators on all TACS and MECHA if all systems shut down, or if the pilot is incapable of continuing the fight when the target's high priority, or when the superiors are feeling sadistic. Otherwise I'd be in one of those TAC armors."

Jim looked about the area.

"Anybody got any ideas? We really don't have the fire power to take it on in a straight on fight."

Adam sat in the room, which was presumably locked down after multiple explosions in other parts of the space station caused a slight panic among the Reliance marines. Another marine had entered the room and spoke briefly to the two guards; this confused Adam, they would have internal comm systems up the Wah-zoo, unless...

Communications lockdown. Or less of a worry, just this room is shielded. Ideal for torture, no?

The third marine left after a very brief exchange and another one followed. One stayed in the room. Adam wouldn't usually mind that, but the marine fully armed his massive slugthrower. On top of that, there was a humming in the background as the air around the marine shimmered. The effect resembled water vapour rising off a hot surface...

Personal Forcefield Generator. It was small compared to things you could mount on vehicles and space ships, but it would stay on for hours and hours at full charge. To make matters worse, only beam weaponry and large explosions could hope to penetrate it. Light, and even medium-calibre weapons would either bounce off or get vaporized, or both. Oh this is going to be really good.

The absolute worst part of all this was the fact that multiple marines would now be ready for any rescue attempts, assuming his crew would actually bother. Adam's inserts were cut-off from JEN or any others, and it looked like the Reliance had already started trying to hack into his cybernetics systems. He brought the his firewalls up to overclocked encryption settings by shutting off less essential subroutines and closing the currently unnecessary communication ports.

One thing was fortunate out of all this, the Reliance couldn't hack as well as Jam. Or maybe Adam kept focusing on that one speck of happiness to help him ignore the possibility that he may be a steaming pile of organic compounds in five minutes.

OOC: Sorry for the not-post...ness. I figured since I was captured, I didn't have a whole lot to say or do. Unarmed and generally untrained (compared to the other characters) against multiple marines, no thanks, I'd rather die in front of everyone. =)

Alicia stepped back into the maitenence alcove, and pressed herself agaisnt the inside of the doorway to remain unseen. She sighed, they were *so* close to the ship too.

"It's no use. Battle armors have heavy weapons and armor too strong that our guns would just glance off. Not even counting a shield generator." she said, with noticiable frustration.

Alicia looked back at the ship, and the distance from where they were to the boarding ramp. One of the large FreiTek Capital-class Lascannons caught her eye. "Hey... here's an idea. Is anyone aboard your ship? If they could bring those main guns online, that battle armor would be no problem!"

"Aside from a Highly Advanced AI, who has the personality of woman forever stuck in menopause, No." Jim said with a sigh. "But we really don't have any method of contacting her with all the jamming going on. Hey, wait jamming... Jam! Contact JEN Jam!"

Jam flew out of Jim's pocket, where Jam had been taking a virtual cat-nap. "Meot Now jimmie, Jam trying to call Adam!" Jam was dialling into a tiny 2000ish looking cell phone, "Adam's tired to a table and the man's trying to meake ham run on Windows! MEowgads!"

Jim scratched his chin. "Hmm. I never worried about what had happened to Adam. Guess he kinda slipped my mind."

Adam was getting a little too freaked out at the marine pointing an obscenely large gun at him, so he decided to try talking.

"So..."

"Shut up." The marine said abruptly, the voice was distorted by the helmet.

So much for that. Let's see...two of three hundred firewalls bypassed. That means if I don't lock them out, they'll bypass my cybernetic security systems in about four hours. Really, wireless computer systems weren't very advanced at cracking state-of-the-art firewalls unless an AI was in control. And luckily, only a handful of Reliance factions used AIs.

"Where are you guys hacking the inserts from? Isn't the room locked down?"

"I said shut up!" The marine said again, a hint of anger in his voice this time.

Fine. Then I'll lock you out completely. Go buy better hacking equipment.

A few seconds later, the marine aimed the slugthrower at Adam's chest.

If I let them back in, will they make him stop doing that?

Killik looked over Raze'el carefully for a second. "Well, I can show you where it is, but I think you might want to go collect the others while me and newbie start the assault... I hate running in, mostly, alone, but I doubt we have much time before they either start pulling files out of Adam's implants or just kill him... or kill him and then remove the implants so they can pull out files and find out who, and where, we are..."

He sighed a bit and checked over his weaponry. The plasma blade would only be useful in short bursts of action at a time as that he hadn't practiced with it much yet, and, as a result, swinging it around while it was on would probably mean losing some of his own limbs. It was still the only thing he had that could get through reliance power armor, however, other than his thermal detonaters, so he would have to rely on it. Well, that and if he could pull off a shot to the visor with his high-caliber ballistics pistol before they got their shields activated.

Killik really really hated tactical marines. Especially when they had hostages.

A slow sigh escaped his lips after a check over his weapons, and he turned back to Raze'el. "The security checkpoint they went past is on this floor, the north east quadrant between Little Chiba's Chop Shop, the cyberware hospital, and Armory's Boutique. There'll either be two corpses and lots of mangled things or two tactical marines, depending on how things go." With that he turned back to Sarith, "I hope you're damned good... oh, and by the way, I'm Killik, I figure you should know the name of the guy you're likely to die with... let's go."

And with that Killik started on his way toward the checkpoint, and, for once, he was walking rather quickly, although he still didn't feel like running.
