MORPHers: RP signup
For those that have Rped or heard of the SUITS rp, this is a similar version. Raiden has graciously accepted the role of CO-dm, as this is based off his original RP. I am happy :)
Welcome to the 23rd century – year 2230, where Pscyhotechnology has begun to mature. There is an underground war going on, under the façade of peace. The USA and Asia have become powerful figureheads, their achievements towering high into space. Their alliance is shaky, and becoming more so by now. Strange creatures have begun to appear in the darkened streets and subways, terrorizing citizens and resisting all justice forces, massacring them in huge numbers. No weapons seemed effective against the armour hide of the monsters that roamed the night, breaking into high security information safes of private Intelligence. Similarly, in China, similar appearances and criminal offences are happening, and growing concern forces the separate governments together in a private meeting to discuss the problems. Their solution? Capture and recreate. Out of sheer luck, one of the monsters fell into their hands, accidentally netted in a 10,000+ volt fence as it attempted to climb it. Using the latest equipment of the 23rd century, government Intelligences raced to break into the coding of the strange metallic beast. Even as they worked, sightings of increasing forces of these strange new machines were reported. They seemed to multiply too fast. The governments feared something dreadful will happen. Thus, Project MORPH was created. A prototype faction named after the machine’s namesake, Masters Of Relativistic Physique enHancers. Now the race began: to trace the source of the enemy MORPH producers and eliminate as many enemies on the way. Undercover, and underground. This is where you come in. Basic overall summary of the MORPH (for customer convenience!): MORPHs are controlled from afar, the maximum distance half a world away. Controllers are called MORPHers, and use a combination of mind power and physical movement to manoeuvre the MORPH, and when MORPHing, float suspended inside an egg-shaped simulation cell. A direct ‘mindlink’ feeds MORPH sensors and information immediately into the brain. MORPHs are completely customisable (like SUITS), and can have more gadgets crammed into it, because there is no room taken up by an operator. Like Raiden said before in the SUITS rp – make it look more machine than animal, make it have more guns than body, whatever – but me and Raiden still veto what you’re allowed in the end. Be creative. Weaponry consists of close-range melee weaponry. Though your MORPH may have some long-range assault weapons, they will have no effect in attacking the actual enemy MORPHs. MORPH armour is designed to withstand anything short of a small nuclear blast. Piercing weapons are an optimum choice, but once again, if you’re creative, then go ahead. Instead of modifiable plasmus (like in the SUITS rp) a super metal – both lightweight and extremely durable – called Imprintium is used. It retains a ‘memory’ of what it’s supposed to turn into, and activates/deactivates upon a thought. Their shape can also be changed by professionals (Technicians also in this RP). MORPHs also ‘imprint’ on their operators, taking on a personality similar to the MORPHers. Nobody – yet – knows what the reason behind this phenomenon is. ~ I think that’s basically it. Anymore questions will be answered upon request. This rp will last for a max of 2 missions, each probably lasting a thread each max. (And I hope I didn't miss anything... had to write this over again within 50 minutes without my original template... damned school) EDIT: forgot one thing: Though MORPHers are physically detached from their MORPHs, they are still susceptible to feel pain whenever a successful attack breaks into the MORPH's armour. Nobody knows why this is so, and they can't remove this feature without screwing up the whole thing. |
One questions comes to mind before I sign up:
What size are the MORPHs in general? Human, dog, horse, house, what? |
Any size, but i guess to be fair - between human size and a fairly large elephant, though exceptions can be made.
I also forgot: If your character has weak ( i mean WEAK) psychic abilities, put it in the Other category in your MORPHer profile. Psychic abilities range from weak telepathy (only get a vague idea of another person's thought, and sometimes not even that... just extra sensitive) to telekinesis (probably can move something up to a rubber) |

Eve has been his personal aide during the later part of the research and has quite a passion for the MORPHs. Through her father's manipulation, she has been placed onto the program as a MORPH pilot. While Eve agreed to only be a temporary pilot, she has her heart set on doing this job to the death of the last enemy MORPH. Personality: Due to her passion for her job, she often pulls all-nighters and leaves incredible reports on her father's desks in the morning while staying up long enough to serve him coffee and blueberry muffins. Her father has always been worried about her living habits but she always seems fairly healthy. However, her personality could do for some alterations. With her passions for learning about the MORPHs consuming her time, she's not very sociable both on and off the field and is too stiff and formal with everyone, like she's never gotten out and had fun in her life. It's inhuman. If there's any moment where she's human, it's when she's with her twin sister, Aeva. (people wonder why she says that last part the way she says it) MORPH profile Model name: EVECEL-XDL9760 Codename: HexCell Type: Naval / Stealth Speciality: Enemy and Location Tactical Analysis Appearance Body Size / Shape: Crescent Moon shaped, arranged vertically where the outer edge faces forward. The body is five yards in length, two in width, and nine in height. Number / Arrangement of Legs: Four Legs, set into small hemispheres on the lower two sides of the Crescent Moon body. The legs are composed of three segments, each segment two feet long and omni-jointed, capable of twisting in all directions. The endings are of omni-directional wheels, the means of HexCell's locomotion on land. Number / Arrangement of Arms: Ten tentacles, set into larger hemispheres on the upper two sides of the Crescent Moon body. Like a squid, two of the tentacles (25 yds) are much longer than the other eight (10 yds). All of them are really powerful when swung, are capable of grapping and throwing large objects with high accuracy, and are the main method of locomotion under water. The two long tentacles are used in locomotion usually to grab something and pull the MORPH forward. Weapons: The primary weapon is the power of the tentacles, but they can also product electrical charges that can disable electronics and render living beings uncontious given enough power. However, using too much power can disrupt the stealth capabilities. Defenses: Optical camoflauge and high speeds on both land and water, especially in areas where there is a lot in the environment the HexCell can use to pull itself along. Functions: HexCell is designed to gain access to areas and objectives with as little difficulty as possible. She doesn't like how her sister is too far into the research and work, but she doesn't argue the issue out of respect for her sister having something she really enjoys. I'm going at this decidedly less die-hard than AB did. ;) At the very least, my MORPH is decidely less original.
Here is what I have so far. I don't have time to do my MORPH right now, but I'll add that in either later tonight or tomorrow morning. EDIT: Okay...so I didn't specify which tomorrow I was talking about...sorry. Name: Kirby Brown Age: 27 Gender: Male Nationality: American Speciality: Air-combat, close-air support. Appearance: Kriby is not a big man, just under six feet tall, but is well toned. His short blonde hair is in a crew-cut, but it's starting to grow out a little now that he's not offical in the Air Force anymore. His eyes are blue, but he likes to wear sunglasses, so they are hardly ever seen. He is often seen in an air-force jumpsuit, or, when off-duty, is almost always seen in a pair of jeans with his flight jacket. Other: Cybernetic implants: Gyro-compass, clock-and-calender. So, basically, he always knows which direction he's facing and what the date is. Psyhic: Minor sixth sense. Can tell that something is going to happen, but not when or what. Think of it as a watered down "spidey-sense". Background: Kirby is...well, technically, was, an air force pilot for the U.S. Not particularlly skilled or anything, but he got the job done, and he got it done on a regular basis. This included strikes against terrorist targets, enforcing no-fly zones...and, occasionally, keeping an eye on Chinese forces. He's had no-fire incidents with Chinese fighter pilots on a few occasions (challenges, mostly. One fighter gets behind the other and stays there, missiles locked, but does not fire until the other backs down. He won some, he lost some). He was chosen to go into the MORPH program because of his pshyic ability, and his exeperience in a variety of combat situations. Personality: He's a nice guy, but a little full of himself every so often. Though not really a leader, he knows from experience that having a close-knit team will strenghten the unit, and so will try to make sure everyone is fellowshiped to some degree. Quote: "Just let me drop a train on it! ...I didn't that literally, Command." MORPH profile: Model name: XFEM-00047B Codename: Tiamat (yeah...I know...horribly original name, isn't it?) Type: Medium Aerial Unit. Speciality: Anti-air / Close-air support. Appearance: Tiamat is, as the name implies, draong like in appearance. His main body is the sizes of a Clydesdale (the Budwiser horse if you don't know your horses), and it's wing span is pretty impressive. On the ground, it can either stand on it's back to legs or all four, but to run, it needs ot be on all four. Tiamat is a metallic black in color. Functions: -Flight: Tiamat has flight capabilites. Thrusters on his back give him speeds of just under super-sonic. -Teeth and claws: Tiamat's main attacks against other MORPHs. Both are sharp enough to damage MORPH armor. -Tail Mace: The end of Tiamat's tail is spiked, allowing Kriby to use it as a mace. The tail, with a good swing, hits with a power of a truck. -Particle Beam Cannon(if approved): In standard dragon fashion, Tiamat has a long-ranged weapon in his mouth. In this case, a particle beam cannon. This is used mainly against "normal" targets, as MORPHs are built to withstand such weapons. Very effective against non-MORPH targets. -Manuvering Thrusters: These allow Tiamat to change direction quickly, when comes in especially handy when evading anti-air fire. Also gives him an edge on aerial opponets with being able to perform hair-pin turns quick direction changes. -Sensor Package: Tiamat also has a sensor package. This allows him to take readings in several spectrums, and to pass along that data to other MORPH units. Quote: "I don't think I could pick up a train, anyways." Technician’s Profile: Name: Andrea Perry Age: 26 Appearance: Shoulder length brown hair, glasses, green eyes, somewhat tall for a girl (six feet), usually in a mechanic's jumpsuit or overalls. Personality: Andrea is the mechanic that the Air Force sent along with Kriby. She's Kriby's cousin, and the two have known each other for their entire lives. She's a nice person, but tends to get somewhat entralled with her work. Quote: "What's this I hear about you making Tia pick up a train?!" |

Name: Garud Terriers Age: 17 Gender: Male Nationality: American. Born in Greece, moved to America as an infant. Speciality: Battle strategist and Engineer. Appearance: Tracksuit top and bottom (Black only), leather gloves and boots. Other: Not included (may change if I get inspiration). Background: Moved to America at the age of 3, his parents were FBI agents, who worked under cover. After their tragic death, he wanted to follow in their footsteps and joined the army. 5 years had passed, and Garud was physically fit, when he left the forces and joined the {Insert Organisation here}, discovering the possibility of Morphers. Personality: On the field he is abrupt and crisp, whilst being quite determined and courageous. Off the battlefield, he is sensitive, shy and is usually a lone wolf. Quote: When fighting the monster, it is important that you dont become the monster. MORPH profile Model name: ChaosX1.0 Prototype Codename: Chaos Type: (choose from a range: Medium Infantry unit. Medium Projectile unit. Speciality: Good at combatting other units, but not good at destroying strong objects. All rounded. Appearance: It is a Blue colour, with skull-and-crossbones symbols on it. It's head is shaped like a dog, and it has large wings (wings are for show, but they have rockets in them). It has a spiked red armour and it's hands and feet are human shaped with drills as the fingers and toes. Functions: It can fly because of the jet rockets in the wings and is quite good in close combat. Also has a variety of weapons which include: -the drills (projectile and hand-to-hand) -electromagnetic rod (close combat only) -Mini-rockets (projectile only) -Buzz saws (projectile and hand-to-hand) -Boomerang (projectile and close combat) Due to it being a prototype, it has never been tested, and is highly unstable. Quote: "I shall make the first move." and "War is not a fight, it is a dance." Technician’s Profile Name: Tiffany Wilkes Age: 16 Appearance: Long black hair, deep blue eyes, pale skin, medium sized lips. Medium sized, slender hourglass figure. Personality: Easy going and outgoing, she is always smiling, but very modest. She is an old friend of Garud's and joined him in the service when he applied. She usess this time to pester him, by making him uncomfortable (which she does by calling him "honey"). Quote: "Game, set and match. Right honey?" If you have any problems with it, let me know. GARUD, can you please limit most projectile weaponry. As I have stated in the intro, using projectile weaponry against other MORPHs most of the time only result in enraging a slightly dented enemy that could be bristling with a dozen piercing weapons that can penetrate your character's armour with frightening ease.
If you wish to keep the projectile weaponry, supply a reason as to why they might be useful. Also, you say your MORPH is all-rounded, yet you have so many weapons and a pair of mini-rocket launchers that state otherwise. Raiden suggests you lose the aerial unit bit (jet pack, wings) if you want to keep all the weapons. I am inclined to agree, so see if you can modify the profile a bit. |
before i sign up wanted to know, can the metal have two imprints on it?(metal can be the forearm of the morph and turn into a blade.)
