FF6=Star wars?

while playing Final fantasy 6 i noticed many similarities with star wars. i'll list a few.

1. Empire Vs. Rebels: self explanitory.
2. Emporers right-hand man kills emporer: vader=kefka. but kefka stays evil.
3. thiefy gangster person: Locke=Han solo.
4. big ugly creature: this one i just put for kicks. umaro=chewie.

these are all i can think of. post your opinions here.

Magic in Final Fantasy VI can be likened to The Force in Star Wars as both are something mystical from the past that make a come back of sorts to play an important role in the present conflict.

Hmm... Well, come to think of it, I guess you could compare the battle in the snow where you split into three parties and protect Banon with the attack on the Rebel base by the Death Star.

Wow, at first this idea sounded ridiculous but suddenly it seems credible.

And then, you know, the biggs and wedge characters from Star wars, cuz Square loved that movie. I know they're in every game, but it's kinda another thing to add.

You kinda can't compare them without including that.

You could compare Obi-Wan's sacrifice to the Esper's sacrificing. Teaching him a lesson through losing their own lives.

Damn. This is actually really cool.

well...Star Wars is essentialy every story with a backdrop of civil war. in fact, if you've studied the Monomyth you'd be able to compare every story to Star Wars.

And Star Wars got its start from Akira Kurosawa. Honestly, sci fi didn't start with Lucas, he just got big with it.

I can't believe nobody pointed out Celes' "little short for a soldier" line, or however it goes. She says it if Locke rescues her wearing the trooper uniform.
