Do(Resident Evil)om Movie

http://www.fileplanet.com/155494/150...trical-Trailer

Well. Here it comes.

I swear, I want it to be good. I want it so badly.

Just watching the trailer there are things I know I hate. I hate the sterotyped scream that echoes out at the end as you see his neck being bitten like a vampire. I hate that the plotline mimicks Resident Evil so badly I want to cry. I hate that it stars an all-star team of cannon fodder military badasses who can get killed just to show how much cooler The Rock is.

But there are also things I like. I like the Rock, he's a good guy and a good actor. I like that the monsters are appropriately scary, and that it's U.A.C. facility. I like that the bathroom looks like actual Doom 3.

But I just can't get over how much this is going to Seven Deadly Suck.

Although we can pray for a Fantastic Four turnaround. Done it once...

The only question is whether it will beat out House of the Dead for worst videogame movie EVER. I say it will not.

Staizer 07-31-2005 11:53 PM

well, at least you're optimisic

Waylander 08-01-2005 12:14 AM

lol i remember house of the dead....

I hate how they insist on ripping off EVERYTHING they see i mean some ripoff's/ spinoffs etc are quite good but do they have to make one out of every single success EVER!

Staizer 08-01-2005 12:16 AM

well, why not? if it was a success, why not try and get more money fom something that worked?

Waylander 08-01-2005 12:45 AM

as i said its okay if its good but they usually aren't most of them suck so bad that even i dont watch them

It can't be much worse than the second Resident Evil movie. Everytime I see the box for that, I feel the need to weep and scream, "How can they make something so good so crap?" I even told my local rental store they needed to move it to the utter crud section. They didn't.

I'm usually not inclined to judge a movie from something like a trailer...but so far, it shows nothing that even resembles imagination. I mean, come on, it can't be that hard to come up with something remotely shocking. I can think of three off the top of my head.

So when did they drop the whole "no Mars, no Hell" thing? When I heard, recently enough, that they did, IMDB still mentionned the planet Olduvai.

Raise your hands if you have high expectations for this film?

...

...

I thought so...

I could say something along the lines of "I hope it's better than Alone in the Dark or House of the Dead," but it doesn't really matter to me if this film is somewhat better than the shittiest films ever made, for I'm not going to see Doom. I already know it's going to be pure garbage like most of the other film released this year. If I'm wrong, then I will see it, but just because the word "Doom," a game I love (and still play), is plastered somewhere in the theater does not mean that it's worth seeing.

First Person Shooters and Rail Shooters don't have enough plot to warrant a movie, anyway. I would've said Resident Evil had enough, but I guess I was wrong (other than Zombies, that's all a movie needs, but RE2 kind've failed in that department).

Of course, then when they go and make a Final Fantasy movie, where they would have infinitesimal amounts of stuff to use, they make The Spirits Within.

Basically you lose any faith in humanity you thought you had.
