Rhyos needs a job!

This is the way~ :thief:

So I'll make a long story short. Last week, I was fired, after less than 3 months, from a quite wonderful job at Gamestop. The whole store was fired for fraud, when in fact the general manager set us all up. So now, I need a new job. The question is, where should I go? What should I do?

I'm in the Charlotte, NC area, in case anyone just happens to need people and visit these forums, but I'm mainly looking for suggestions.

Any ideas?

Do you have anything in mind? Hours, pay rate, or perhaps what you'd like to be working with? Any particular skills/education that you can at least fake, or perhaps even have?

As for throwing out names, all I can think of is Costco. (If there's one in your area.) I've heard they can pay pretty good, but I can't comment on the hours they offer.

Cell Phone sales might also be a route for you to consider. It can pay pretty well, but it is something of a quota situation.

Ideal would be around $10/hr, working with electronics of any kind. Games, computers, pc repair/construction, networking, etc. The hours don't need to be very flexible, but I do need the possibility of night work, since I've got classes starting up during the day.

I don't really hold any kinds of PC certifications, but I, like most around here, have extensive personal knowledge of just about anything Microsoft, and have built, torn down, and rebuilt my own machine. Oh, don't forget teh voice! :thief:

Well, if all else fails, you can always temp until you find something solid. Personally, I'd recommend Spherion. Because at least up where I am, all the other temp places turned out to be fairly lousy operations.

Plus, my current job (of 2 years now) is all thanks to Spherion, and I'm not complaining.

Spherion and Adecco are very good temp agencies. Adecco got me a sweet job at 12.50 for the duration of my stay in the states, plus you can do office work and the like. Comfortable jobs at affordable wages.

Just make sure you specify you want cleriocal work or you'll end up in a factory putting stickers on bags.

Indeed~

If you DO work for Gamestop, you might want to refresh yourself with "teh manual". Apparently, corporate is quite hardcore about it, and considers no other circumstances.

:thief: Contract'd.

\News flash~ There is no Spherion office near me. Going Adecco~

You sure? There's at least a few Spherion links for NC jobs that are supposedly in the Charlotte, NC area. At least according to Monster.com. Here's a link to one...

Look for something that you can branch out from... Warehouses are not a bad start. Waiters & Hosts (for fancy restaraunts) might not be too bad either.

But retail? No. Don't work for a one-stop shopping center or a video rental store. The jobs leave you feeling bitter about the customers, and if your tolerance level is low, in a circumstance where you could very soon be fired, and firin's don't look good on resumes.

Also, build a resume. And wear suits to interviews.

I've worked in restaurants most of my life, and that's made me more bitter about humanity as a whole than working anywhere else ever has. I do have a resume put together, but it seems luck just isn't on my side. >_< There's been an eviction ultimatum sent if I don't have a job within the next... um... 3 hours. Which is odd, because it takes most places about 2 weeks to process a single application. :thief:
