Jumping into a random pod, Ryan began to strap himself in. Getting comfortable, he waited for the rest to get set.

"Name of the game is capture the flag. How you do will determine who I'll make the other lance commander."

Raviel stripped down to his shorts and dumped water over himself, before taking a quick look at the team specs as he put on his coolant vest. His Archer and Karen's Crusader were both Heavy mechs, configured with similar capabilities. They moved at around the same speed, plus they had roughly the same firepower in all the ranges. The Pheonix Hawk, though, seemed like a medium mech built for a little extra speed, and a medium range load out. It was piloted by Ryan; a person he hadn't heard speak yet. The Warhammer was another heavy mech. The PPCs meant that it had long range capabilities, but it was suited more towards medium range combat. The other team had a Locust, an Atlas, a Thunderbolt, and a Centurion. The Locust, piloted by Scott, was a light mech with little armor, but faster speeds than anything his team had. The Atlas, pilot by Sigil, was essentially a walking fortress; nobody needed to explain what kind of monster that was. The Thunderbolt, piloted by Adam, was a heavy mech built for all around combat. Finally, the Centurion, piloted by...well, he didn't know who it was piloted by, but it was generally a medium mech with long range to medium range capabilities. As far as he could tell, Karen, Kyle, and Sigil had worked together before, and Adam...well, he was just a prick who probably switched his drinks. Other than that, he had no clue what they would do. That Atlas would make a great defender...and that Locust would be perfect to swoop in and just capture our flag. The other two would be good paired up with any of either of the first two; one packed more firepower while the other was faster. He wasn't much of a strategist, but he knew sending out too little firepower would keep defenders as sitting ducks and attackers as big walking targets, and too much would leave the flag undefended. It would be best to pair up, and since Karen and Kyle had already worked together it would make sense for them to be together. Ryan might have been a complete stranger to Raviel, but he had no doubt they wouldn't be able to work in unison. Still thinking about possible plans, he shrugged and jumped into the pod. Turning on his channels, he smiled, deciding that he didn't really want to worry about any of that. "I'll follow, if any of you will lead." |

Karen flipped the helment around in her hands, checking it out. It had the Davion sword and sunburst insignia still on the side, but that didn't matter. It looked light, and from what Scott said, pretty advanced. She hopped into simulator B-2, strapped herself in, punched in her mech's designation, and plugged her neurohelment in, and strapped it on. "Calibrating NeuroHelment uplink." the computer softly replied, a neural readout flashing across the viewscreen. Karen heard a slight buzz in her left ear, and then cringed at a sharp flash of pain in her right shoulder, which quickly went away. "Calibration complete." "Well... that was quick." Karen observed, selecting her starting location, and the 3 dimensional holopod flashed away, replaced by a picturesque Crusader cockpit and command couch. "Reactor, Online." "Sensors, Online" "Weapons systems, Online." "All functioning systems, Nominal to profile." Her computer racked off the startup sequence, and her mech was fully operational. Clicking on her comms, she heard Raviel's response, and replied, "Allright. Ryan, Raviel, form up on me. Kyle, if you'd kindly find a good position to defend the flag, that'd be great. Ryan, you go for the flag, and Raviel and I will supply midfielding fire support." Karen didn't exactly like leaving Kyle's Warhammer, or "Whamhammer" as she playfully called them, behind, but she knew she could trust Kyle to control their backfield. She opened a private channel with Raviel, "Allright. We're in the best position to make sure Scott dosen't slip by. Let's make sure we do our job." ((Direct-Fire Heavy hangs back to defend flag, Missle boats advance and cover Medium, who'll cap the flag. Sounds good, eh?)) |
"Sigil, join me you're going to test their defenses.

OOC: I'll start at 1407 on the A-map.
IC: Adam hopped into a pod, and put on the neurohelmet. After linking up, he looked around at the simulated terrain as his "mech" powered up. When everything was set, he decided on what he would do. "I'll move up a little and keep everything in check. Make sure no one gets through. That all ok with you, boss?" |
"Good strategy."
OOC: AB hold up I forgot to place you. edit: AB you're odd man out so pick a team. |
(0216 B map)
As his 'Mech powered up, Ryan looked around at his surroundings. Huh, looks like I'm right beside the flag. Hearing Karen over the comm Ryan flipped his on, "Just get me in and I'll get it. As far as I can tell, at this moment the Atlas is our main problem. The smart thing would be to use it for defence, but if they use it for offence we will need more support at the flag. The trees will help a bit in covering it, but not much." |

"Initializing neural input. Standby for simulated startup sequence." Under the neurohelmet, Sigil closed his eyes and took a deep breath. The vague sleepiness which always got to him when he was under pressure was filling his head, simulation or no. You can do it, Sigil. You will do it. He opened his eyes again, in time to hear the female voice again. They always made thecomputer voices female; it was presumably more soothing in most situations, but having the dulcet tones of some woman calmly inform you of your impending demise made a frustrating situation even more maddening. "AS-7 Atlas, powering up. Reactor online. Gyroscopes online. Myomer bundles online. HUD online." The view from an Atlas' eye view filled the blank screen in fornt of him, and a small wireframe of his mech appeared in the corner of his field of vision. "Self-test engaged." The wireframe shimmered, bands of color washing over it as the computer began a diagnostic of the 'mech's internals, just like it would have in real life. The Atlas' textures filled out the wireframes. It seemed normal in all ways. "Self-test complete. No faults detected. Radar online. Navigation online. FCS online. Weapons online." The translucent green disc of the radar overlaid itself over his field of vision, showing himself and the nearby Scott. A round reticle dissolved into place in the center of the screen, studded with range stadia and various visual indicators. The panoply of weapons he carried blinked into position around the reticle, then faded away so that his view wasn't blocked. "All systems nominal. Ambient temperature is 298 degrees Kelvin. External environment is biological-friendly." Sigil scanned the area around him. No hostiles in sight... yet. Scott was behind him, but the others on the Blue Force hadn't logged in yet. He tapped a submenu with virtual fingers to open a comm channel to Blue Force. "Lucifer, online." |
"Lucifer you're mid fielder take point on the ridge and await further orders"
Scott Throttled forward and took off at a run toward the light tree cover in front of him He manuevered in the trees (final position after a run 0810 facing 0811) |
