FF RP Ch. 2 Continued
 

ooc-Well, my character was basically unconscious, so I hadn't planned on anything to do, yet. When I feel this chapter can come to a close, all issues are solved, then I'll start the next.

Arc sighed and said, "You're doing one of three things. You're contemplating forgiving me, considering the best way to maim me, or you're shaking with barely restrained fury. I'm gettin' the feeling it's one of the second two."

Carolina looked away again. "I'm just not sure I'm understanding this fully... Are you just expecting me to forgive and me take you back or something? Trying to get on my good side by supposedly warning me about how the other side might try to attack the other white mages? What am I supposed to do?"

"Well, while that wouldn't be hated, that's not why I'm here." He leaned forward. "I just don't want to have to go to sleep every night knowing that I've still got to make amends. That attack thing was to give you a heads up about how desperate this is going to get. It's a conquest, which means the people under attack are going to use every dirty trick they can to win. What the ideal thing for you to do would be to keep your head up and stay alert. Guards at the tents aren't going to save you neccesarily, because the Rab forces got a bunch of theirs blasted."

He leaned back and calmly said, "You decide what you do from here. I've done what I've wanted to do." He glanced to the side and watched some really rich guy put his wallet in plain sight. "Nononononononono....temptation....strong..."

Her eyes shifted to what he was looking at. "If you even think about it, I'll beat you. And don't think that just because I'm a white mage I won't at least make you regret doing something stupid." She finished off her drink.

"It's not like I can just go back now though. I got my leave to go, and if I go back so soon, they might get just a bit suspicious, don't you think?"

"True, true." He stretched his shoulders, finished his drink, and glanced around.

He looked back at her, and said, "Well, that leaves me with many options. I can't leave you alone because of guards, but staying around you might prove hazardous to your, and my, health." He absent mindedly twirled a coin in his fingers, then flipped it up and caught it.

"I do have a question though. What keeps you devoted to your cause." Just in case she said was her cause was, especially a bit too loud, he let a pair of throwing knives dropto his palms.

She laughed a little. "Me? Devoted to white magic? The only reason I've stay with it so long is because of how hard my parents have tried to get me to stay on it." She folded her arms and rested them on the table. "If I was so 'devoted', would I have just left all the others behind just to see what the hell you wanted to talk to me about?"

"Natch. Maybe you're naturally attracted to my boyish charm. But I didn't mean the magic. I meant who you use the magic on."

"Oh...." She stared down at her empty glass. "It's not like I have much of a choice on who I use it on...." She reached up, running her finger along the rim of the glass. "One day, they came to the door wanting to know if there was a studying white mage. All of us were being gathered to help out with the war effort. Basically it wasn't really my choice to be out there helping."

He hurt, and like hell. Of course, that's how it's supposed to be when someone stabs you in the stomach and shoulders. He tried to struggle, but he was strapped to a table, restricting his movement. He continued to resist, but eventually giving up, he realized he was too weak to break free from his bonds.
Stuck in another small tent with noone else inside, he couldn't help but be afraid. What are they doing? Normally, he tried to think things through, but he could only panic. The only thing he could do at the moment was scream, which he did.
He only hoped someone could hear.
