Quote:

This a world where good has won. It is a world where the benevolent church has spread his wings throughout the land, where justice is enforced and the common man protected. It is a world where one's lessers are protected and sheltered and cared for.

Evil, where it surfaces, is ruthlessly hunted down and destroyed. Only in the places far from civilization do they stand a chance of thriving and surviving, but any significant accumulation of evil beings is swiftly put down by the "benevolent" and "righteous" theocracy, by forces more numerous than them, better equipped than them, and more powerful than them.

The last fair fight was very long ago.

Now that we've got the bloody preamble out of the way, it's obvious all of you are going to be evil. Because a world like that needs fucking up and you're the ones to do it. Try not to do actively antisocial things like declare yourself to be a worshiper of Satan and public, and you'll probably live. Also, unless you're from outside of normal civilization, don't expect to be raised amongst evil people. If your origins are from normal civilization, you'd better hide your corruption.

Post your character descriptions / character sheets as needed.

www.systemreferencedocuments.org might help. Contact myself or Phoenix if you need help with character creation.

The only thing I think I need help is what feats would be good for a monk to choose, I think the ones ive chosen could be replaced with better ones.

Arhra 08-23-2005 09:28 AM

Let's see your feats:
Monk Bonus Feats:
Stunning Fist
Combat Reflexes
Improved Disarm

Other Feats
Dodge
Mobility
Endurance
Diehard
Toughness

Now first of all. Get rid of Endurance, Diehard and Toughness. They're all pretty bad. If you keep mobility there's a few non-core feats that might work well like Elusive Target (uncertain of everytihng it does as I don't have the book atm).

Falling Star Strike is a feat that allows you to make an attack that blinds people. It uses up a stunning fist attempt.

Defensve Throw is a feat that requires Dodge, Improved Trip and Combat Reflexes. It allows you to trip the subject of your dodge bonus if they miss you, taking up one of your attacks of opportunity for the round.

If you take Spring Atttack (requires dodge and mobility, allows you to move before and after a charge), I'd recommend you take Flying Kick and Power Attack (prerequisite for Flying Kick). Flying Kick allows you to deal double damage on a charge.

Well, that's about everything I can think of off the top of my head.

However, for magic items, try and squeeze some more in. I'd advise investing in healing potions, and some AC increasing items like a ring of protection and bracers of armor. Perhaps cut that Belt of Constitution +4 to one of +2 to free up 12000gp to throw around. I'd also recommend adding the ki-focus enchanment to that kama if you think you'll be using it a lot and either make it out of a special material (silver or cold iron) or have a back-up weapon that is.

EDIT: How could I have forgotten. If you take Karmic Strike you can take a -4 penalty to AC in exchange for being able to make an attack of opportunity against anything that hits you in melee.

My character sheet, again. And Bio.

Name: Maria Cyril

Hair: Red

Eyes: Blue

Skin: White

Appearance: Wears an ancient shining suit of truesilver (Mithril) full-plate, emblazoned with the emblem of Yalain across the breastplate. (Pentagram, with rising Red Dragon clutching staff and sword in claws.) Wears a number of starry purple cloths in a capelike arrangment (Like an ARC-trooper in Star Wars.) to appear more regal and conceal the emblem in public.

Orgin: Yalanai-in-exile, Outlying regions.

History: Long ago, a large portion of the world was ruled by the iron fist of the empire of Yalain, a magocracy which firmly believed in survival of the fittest, and victory by martial force. With a small but immensely powerful military, the empire conquered a large portion of the known world before finally being crushed and driven into exile by the overwhelming force of a coalition of humans and elves, led by a paladin by the name of Rukama. The few who manged to survive fled to the edges of the earth, and were presumed to have perished.

A few of them however, survived. Taught by one of the few surviving Yalanai Archons, Maria has trained diligently in their unique fighting style, incorporating use of magic with melee weapons.

Alignment and Views: Lawful Evil.

Maria wants to restore the ancient glory of the empire of Yalain. While the literal paradise of the world today is a refreshing reminder of the power of mankind, it carries a single, fatal flaw. The weak flourish.

If the weak, blind, elderly, and handicapped are allowed to live on, the entire community as a whole suffers. Resources are needlessly squandered on their survival, and the military must protect those that do not deserve their half-lives. Maria seeks to rectify this by bringing about the second age of conquest, where the world will be tempered by the fires of conflict and adveristy, so that one day, should a superior race attempt to conquer the world, the people will be prepared for it.

Sounds evil enough. Approved.

Incendius 08-23-2005 02:50 PM

Where would one find flaws in the books I can't seem to find any.

PhoenixFlame 08-23-2005 02:52 PM

Unearthed Arcana uses the flaws and traits system.

Incendius 08-23-2005 02:54 PM

Damm, are there many flaws that allow more feats? If so are there many that aren't extremely hindering to a monk?

PhoenixFlame 08-23-2005 03:02 PM

Each flaw grants one feat. Such flaws as...

Shaky: -2 to ranged attacks
Noncombatant: -2 to melee attacks
Vulnerable: -1 armor class
Murky-Eyed: Lowest of 2 concealment rolls versus concealed defender
Feeble: -2 to physical skill checks
Frail: -1 HP/Level
Unreactive: -6 Initiative
Slow: Half land speed
Poor Reflexes/Will/Fortitude: -3 Reflex/Will/Fortitude saves (Pick one)
