Eyebrow raised at the demonstration of the golem Severin was impressed. Looking over at the man he stated "Well if it wasn't obvious before I'm in"
|
Kria smiled at the golem. Even she had to admit it was quite impressive. She glanced from the golem to the man and back again, before finally settling her eyes on the man, a cold look in her eyes, but a small smile on her face. If this was what he had to bring to the table, this 'mission' might actually be worth it. "I am in agreement, so long as this plan of yours is centered on the destruction of cities."
|
Rince concealed a smile as the rest of the group ignored him. All I did was carry a musical instrument, and they disregard me. How narrow-minded, that could very well get them killed one day. He thought to himself smugly, and then spoke up. "I agree as well, but I would like to know where we should meet you after we complete our mission, so we can collect our pay.
|
"Useful." Feloss remarked as he examined the finely-made golem, reminiscent of his people's own war-constructs, his lips curving into a smile as he realized that it be easily turned on them if they got out of control. Useful indeed...to both sides. Surreptitiously, he also examined the rest of the newcomers. The rat-mauled one seemed to be an unarmed combatant, perhaps a Monk, the one with the instrument was likely a Bard, and the third, shadowy one had the look of a seasoned killer.
After a few moments of contemplation, the Wizard spoke, "I am in agreement, O shadow. What is it you need us to do for our first mission?" |
"I am glad we are all in agreement. As for your first mission... well. You are certainly discreet enough, and are not likely to be inconvenienced by the masses of incompetents that will throng you. However, how you perform against some significant opposition is yet to be determined. You will, of course, forgive my unorthodox methods. You will be appropriately compensated for this... inconvenience."
As the shadow spoke, it began gliding away from them, ever so imperceptibly, and the golem stepped between it and them. "If you survive, of course." It chuckled. "Crush them." The war machine's eye sockets blazed crimson, and it advanced towards the closest of their number... OOC: Initiative: 20 - 2 = 18 |
((19+3 = 22 Initiative, will post the rest once I figure out initiative order.))
((Dante, that dosen't constitute a suprise round, because the golem didn't appear out of nowhere, teleport, or attack from hiding or invisibility. We knew it was there, and that's what initiative is for, to see if we can react before it does.)) ((Actions: Draw sword, Cast Shield, Position myself between Feloss and the golem (Dante just told me it's 15 feet in front of Feloss.) Setting dodge target as the golem, so my AC is now 28 agaisnt him. EDIT: 32 with DB's haste.)) Katrina lept between the golem and Feloss, her sword glinting in it's own light as sparks of violet energy crackled across the blade. Katrina knew that the wizard was a powerful asset, but wouldn't last more than a few seconds at close range with an Iron golem. As Katrina landed between the wizard and the golem, which was just now beginning to move, seemingly prepared to charge the poor wizard down, she raised her free left hand, extending a finger as she closed her eyes for a moment and whispered "Helkas Quafeth.", the incantation for a personal shield spell. A pair of white orbs extended outward on a vertical plane from her outstreched finger, and spun in half-circles to each's starting point, as a glint of light ran across the intangible sheet of force before it disappeared from sight. |
Kria grinned, drawing her scimitar. She had been getting bored of the endless inane chatter and she readied herself to attack, excited at having something to do.
(Initiative = 17 + 2 = 19) |
OOC: I'm randomly going to decide that Feloss was the closest and the combat started with it 15 feet away... if only so that Katrina doesn't eat an 2d10+11 AoO for her screening maneuver.
Yes, this would ALL be simpler if we had a miniatures grid, but them's the breaks. |
OOC:Initiative 16+4 20, setting dodge bonus against golem (+2 for varient monk rules)
Good a chance to prove myself Severin thought. His right leg slid along the ground his left leaning forward, his left hand angled behind him towards the ceiling and his right was held infront of him as he prepared himself. |
OOC: Assuming everyone is within 30 feet of everyone else.
Initiative: 12+2=14, actions take place whenever my initiative count comes up, and may be edited depending on the actions of those who rolled higher initiative. Haste spell: Standard Action. Five-foot step back, now 15 feet between Feloss and the closest square which Katrina threatens to the golem. IC: Feloss was surprised by the half-fiend's action, but recovered quickly. Arcane words poured from his lips as his fingers described an elaborate dance in the air, wisps of ghostly, silver-white light pouring from their tips. The light faded, and a sudden nimbus of argent surrounded each member of the group for a brief instant, filling them with an almost hyperactive vigor, even slight motions seeming to blur slightly from speed. Then he moved back a short distance, to avoid getting in the way. |
