(18+5=23 My intiative rocks yours. Not directed at anyone in particular, It just rocks yours.)
Derek pushed himself off the wall, walking forward with measured, quiet steps, which actually became quiet quick after a few moments, thanks to the intervention of the mage. After moving half-way to Feloss's position, he flicked his blades from their sheathes, preparing for an attack, even as he continued to advance in the same casual manner. (Drew daggers. The good ones, as that normal daggers would probably do little more than make 'tink tink' sounds. Moved fifteen feet. If my earlier estimates were right, that should place him 30 from the golem's start position and fifteen-17 from the position it will be in upon reaching Katrina. Ready Action: Full attack if the fool thing comes within range.) |
OOC: DB, Golem init is 18. Your spell is not cast yet.
BIC: The golem advanced on Feloss, the earth shaking below its nearly one-ton weight, but as Katrina interposed itself between the two of them, it turned, moving around her, taking advantage of its natural reach to seize Feloss about the waist with its massive arms. OOC: - Iron Golem makes touch attack - 14 + 23 - grab successful - Iron Golem makes grapple check - 12+28 vs 20+2 - grapple successful - Iron Golem grapples Feloss! - Feloss takes 22 damage! |
OOC: Behold my mighty... uh, mightiness as I enter the fray at my awe inspiring initiative of 6! For convenience's sake, I'll asusme Ayaeril has heard the speaking from before. A bit short, but it'll do.
Actions: Cast Righteous Might, move forwards 20 feet to get to charge range of golem. Notably doesn't have sword out. Ayaeril had been content to remain quiet until now but now he takes action. He calls upon the lord of storms to grant him strength and assumes towering stature. A battlecry on his lips, the elf powers forwards, this last spell completing the trinity of blessings upon him*. *That would be the persistant divine power and divine favour. |
Edit: (OOC: Heh eh... I started playing guild wars last night and forgot I had accidentally posted an unfinished thingie.
Anyway, actions... Move: Tumble to golem. 14+14 = 28 versus DC 15. Easy. Standard Action: Total defense. +6 dodge bonus from tumble ranks.) As the creature tightened its arms around Feloss, Derek decided that he should hurry slightly in hopes of saving the man's life. It wasn't particularily that Derek cared about Feloss, or even knew who he was, however, he was dressed like a mage and against an iron golem a mage would be neccessary if they were to survive the encounter. He broke into a run, his movements light and fluid, making his direction sporadic and hard to trace, as he drew in close to the creature he continued to sway in the same fashion, his eyes tracing the golem's features, watching for any movement while staying on his toes, ready to move at a moment's notice, and waiting for an opening with which to attack, even though he doubted his abilities to actually injure this thing. |
((And I'm next after Krylo.))
((Actions: 5-foot step back towards the golem, which now *must* be within range, cast wraithstrike as a swift action, and use arcane strike (level 3 spell) for +3/+3d4. Two-handed, Power attacking for -5 +10.)) ((Sword: 6+9= 15, hitting touch AC8. Bite: 7+3= 10, hitting too.)) ((Sword damage: 7+4(Elec, Golem slowed)+18+9(3d4) = 38 damage. My sword is adamantine, so golem gets no DR. Bite damage: 4+7+8 -15 = 4 damage.)) Edited damage. (Again.) Katrina gracefully whirled around, sliding next to Feloss and the Iron golem, who's back was now turned to her. With a quick incantation, her sword turned etheral, and a loud *Hiss-crack!* sound issued forth as the sword was infused with arcane energy, the blade erupting into a beautiful violet flame, cutting a energy-laden purple arc through the air before cleaving into the golem's back. Leaping closer, Katrina bit the slash she had made in the golem's armor plate, managing to peel free a small bit of what she didn't destroy. |
OOC: Initiative 14+4=18, Inspire Courage +1, everyone gets a +1 to attack and damage rolls (including me) for as long as I play +5 rounds. Rince ran forward until he was about 10 feet away from the golem, there he strung a series of quick notes on his lyre, guaranteed to energize those who heard them.
|
Kria raises her hand as she moves closer to the creature, muttering the spell's incantation. As she finishes, she flicks her hand down again and there is a brief wooden groan as her skin momentarily twists and roughens, turning dark. As the spell takes hold, her skin relaxes again, and she lowers her hand.
OOC: Move Action: 5-foot step, Standard Action: Cast Barkskin (+4 natural armor enhancement). Not sure if I'm in range yet, but if I'm not this turn I should be next one. |
OOC: Charge attack vs golem, Severin gains +1d12 dmg for feat, rolled 13+7/15+2 im not sure if that hits or not. For damage I rolled 6+9/4+2.
IC: Severin raises his stance and lifts his leg forward. Starting into a charge he runs forward jumping into the air too deliver a devastating flying kick against the golem. |
OOC: Concentration Check, DC 24 to cast Dimension Door.
13 (Skill Points) + 2 (Constitution) + 15 = 30. IC: Feloss thought he was going to die, as the golem's unyielding arms tightened. He heard muffled popping noises as ribs snapped, and it was only by entirely blocking out the pain and focusing all of his will into one, concentrated attempt that he managed to clearly recite the words of his spell. A glowing blue line split the tiny space between his body and the golem's massive chest, then spreading outwards into a shimmering rectangular portal of blue light...which the golem's squeezing only helped push him into. The wizard fell into the portal, and willed himself sixty feet away, in the direction from which he had entered the room originally. The first portal closed and a second, identical one appeared on the spot Feloss had specified, stumbling forth and clutching at his ribs, teeth clenched in pain. |
OOC: Pyros, you get one attack when charging. And it missed. Also, I'm randomly ruling that arcane strike damage is energy damage and circumvents DR, though the physical bite damage does not.
BIC: The golem reeled back from Katrina's vicious onslaught, electricity crackling around it as Katrina's blade bit into its structure. Its hands clanged against each other as Feloss vanished from within them, though it managed to shrug off Severin's vicious kick. OOC: New round. Golem Initiative 11 - 1 = 10. |
((14+3 = 17 Init. Will post rest after order comes up. I'm after Krylo it seems, so I'll perform another full attack, swift actioning wraithstrike once more.))
((15+11+1 (Power attack 5, Two handed) = 27, sword hits. 7+5+1 (Power attack 5) = 13, bite hits.)) ((Sword: 8+2(Elec)+8+10(PA)+5(AS)+1(Bard)= 34 damage.)) ((Bite: 5+7+1(Bard)+8(AS) -15 = 8 (Magic))) Katrina continued to attack the golem's rear with her sword, sustaining her ether weapon, as she widened the hole she had created in the monstrosity moments before, plunging her katana inside, shifting the empowered weapon around inside the golem's internal workings, which cracked and fizzed as they melted under the sword's power, while she tore at it's exterior armor plates to some effect with her fangs. |
OOC:4+4=8 same as Pheonix.

(OOC: Grumble gripe bitch. I waste a natural twenty on a damned intiative roll. 20+5=25 And... well, no one has dex as high as I do, I guess that makes me first. So... I'm not going to bother waiting for everyone else to roll.
...Never mind that wasting a natural twenty. My attack rolls were, 1, 20, 20, 20. Due to the fact I'd probably think I was lying had I not gotten it, an image is attached. Damage: rolls 1, 2, 3 for the standard 1d4 damage and 5, and 6 for the 1d6. first attack, 1+5+6+1 (Rince's song)=13.. I think. Unless frost circumvents DR. In which case I'll rewrite post. Second 2+6+1=9 Third 3+5+6+1=15 Edit: DB informs me that magical weapons > adamantium for bypassing DR, so the damage goes through. Total damage 37) Derek watched and waited for an opening, and, as Feloss vanished and the golem's arms closed, he saw it. His movement was like lightning as both of his daggers lashed out quickly, striking in a blur of motion. The first dagger hit at an odd angle and ricocheted off the golem harmlessly, but he quickly redirected the path of the dagger to bring it back around, piercing the iron 'flesh' of the golem with ease, while, simultaneously, his other hand came up and delivered another stab which punched through the iron. Around the second blade's pierce the iron froze and then shattered, releasing the blade, and allowing Derek to jab the dagger into the golem's chest making another, similiar, hole. |
OOC: 16+2=18 = Initiative, right before Katrina's actions.
Lesser Acid Orb = Standard Action Move 10 feet towards the golem, now 50 feet away. Move action. Iron Golem Touch AC = 8 7+2+17= 26 = hit 6+8+8+3+2=27 = damage. Iron Golem = pwn't IC: Feloss coughed, stumbling forward approximately ten feet, just within range. His broken ribs sent a pulse of agony throughout his torso, and he fixed the Golem with a glare that promised death. More ominous than his gaze, however, was the glowing green light that appeared between his gesticulating fingertips, and the words...dripping with rage...that he chanted. The light seemed to coalesce into a sickly green orb of liquid approximately two inches in diameter, hovering over Feloss' palm...then firing forth with an ominous hiss. It spiralled toward its target, the center of the Golem's chest, and struck with a sizzling sound. The missile of acid corroded away at the golem's metal front, flakes of metal turning brown and peeling away from the edges of the hole that dug deeper and deeper into the golem's anterior portion, growing wider and wider, stopping as the last of the acid vanished, just when the back of the excavation met the wounds Katrina had put in its back. The half-demoness, digging deeper as well, seemed to strike the final blow...the golem shuddering as its knees buckled, a huge, jagged, extremely uneven gash/hole penetrating all the way through. Like an empty suit of armor, it crashed to the ground with an earsplitting clamor, the light in its eyes flickering before slowly fading away...extinguished forever. "You would have been better off as a privy." Feloss smiled as he spat in the direction of the scrapheap, straightening his posture, no longer hunched over in pain...the death of his foe like a soothing balm. He knew the effect was only mental, but it felt good. "Can anyone spare a healing spell?" |
Initiative: 18 - 6 = 12
Actions: Charge Golem and attack with spiked gauntlet. Attack: 9 (Roll) + 10 (BAB) + 7 (Str) + 3 (Luck) + 1 (Morale) - 1 (Size) + 4 (Smite) + 2 (charging) + 2 (flanking) - 3 (Power Attack) = 34 Damage: 5 (Weapon) + 7 (Str) + 3 (Luck) + 1 (Morale) + 10 Smite + 3 (Power Attack) = 29 Damage Ayaeril plows into the heavily damaged golem, the cleric not even bothering to draw his sword. Instead he smites its head with a claw-like gauntlet, a corona of dark power like lightning-shot storm clouds crackling around it. A sound like a crack of thunder peals out when his armoured fist connects, the golem literally folding around it then slumping lifelessly as its red eyes dim. Ayaeril turns around to regard the others while he wills the divine stature bestowed upon him to dissipate, reverting to his normal size. The elf is dressed for battle - carrying a shield and clad in baroque full plate mail that has the dusky hue of adamantine. Over that he wears a cloak of a deep purple hue. What appears to be a holy symbol - some sort of lightning bolt insignia - dangles from a chain on his free hand. There's something lurking in the depths of his violet eyes that is slightly disquieting. Hearing Feloss' request he turns and replies, "If we are to be allies in this enterprise, then certainly." He grips his holy symbol and speaks a swift prayer of healing before touching it to Feloss. The wizard's injuries visibly recover - the bruising now looking as if it had happened a great many days ago and the pain in his chest reduced. It is not entirely a pleasant sensation - Ayaeril's magic has something of a jolt to to it. OOC: Expended a Cure Moderate wounds to heal 20 hp. |
OOC: I apologize for neglecting this for so long.
BIC: The shadowed man chuckled, an unearthly, sepulchral sound. "As I expected. One basic model was not enough to stop you. That is good... very good... Nobody has survived it before. I find it an efficient way to rid myself of pretenders. In any event, here is the healing, as I promised." He gestured to the trapdoor whicht he iron golem had been deposited through. It opened up, and a carton of light healing potions was lifted up into the room via a dumbwaiter of sorts. "There is a town called Branwen not ten miles from here. There is nothing of note in that worthless place, except that the disused mines nearby house a series of catacombs which have religious significance to the Daltonites. An archbishop will be dispatched there once every year to perform the necessary rites needed to honor the dead." The shadow seemed to shift slightly, and his next words were like a knife. "See that he does not survive his trip. Destroy the catacombs if possible, and if you can massacre the town nearby, so much the better. This attack is what I need to ensure that certain... elements are removed from the picture. It will also make your lives easier in subsequent missions." |
OOC: sry its been so long since my last post, school sorta caught up with me...
IC: Kria sheathed her blade, a little annoyed that she had not gotten to use it. Arms folded, she surveyed the shadow man with a new air of respect, and listened to his instructions with a small smile playing about her lips. "Mines?" Kriah asked. Even the thought of abandoned mines left a bad taste in her mouth, filthy humans stripping the rock of what rightfully belonged to it. The smile turned into a grin. "It would be my pleasure." |
As the golem fell forward, Katrina stepped atop what remained of the monstosity, taking her sword in both hands, and ripped it clean from it's buried position in the golem's back, scattering little bits of sparking iron every which way as she did so. She twirled the sword once, and then slipped the weapon back into it's sheathe.
Unlike Kria, she was not as happy with the recent turn of events. "Despite the fact that our employer just tried to kill us..." She muttered, "It's an acceptable mission." |
Derek walked over to the crate and pulled out ten healing potions, which he stored away in his back pack, figuring his compatriarts could help themselves to the rest. He didn't particularily need any, and given the next mission, he doubted he would need any. However, they were his reward, apparently, and so he took what he cared to, before bothering to address the man, after Katrina, "I will handle the assassination... but what can you tell me of the arch bishop, so that I may be properly prepared?"

OOC: I just need to check - is there any interest left for this? Considering Ugly went and set up her own thread, I'm assuming nobody wants to play anymore.
|
I've still got interest in it. You're slow, though.
|
OOC: Yar, I've been bogged down by craploads of work. I'll try and get the next thread up by tonight your time.
|
OOC: I'm still intreasted but if it dies it's off to Pheonix for me! ;)
|
OOC: Hey, I'm still interested. You just wanted me to DM one to see how good I was, and I finally got around to it. ;)
Also, you're ugleh too. :p |
OOC: Phoenix is not ugly. :p
Yes, I'm still interested. |
