“She is Koyuki.” Raikotsu replied, his agile fingers deftly tying a bandage around a gash on the insensate girl’s upper arm. He lifted a damp cloth from the bowl of water, and used it to carefully clean a cut on her forehead as he continued speaking.
“She led this group, originally, a strong and capable general. According to my sources, she took on human form, wounded herself, and then bled nearly to death…her soul is no longer in her body, but the body itself still lives, and I have a plan to return her soul to it.” He passed Kirie a roll of bandages, “Here, help me bandage her wounds.” “I must warn you, my plan is exceptionally risky. If it fails Koyuki, myself, and all around us might be torn to pieces. Are you sure you wish to stay?” |
Green Kimono (Kirie)
"No way am I staying here." Judging from Raikotsu's expression, Kirie felt she had to elaborate. "She was Vanguard. We are Vanguard now. Lord Talkatz would definitely not advise a risky resurrection such as this one you're planning now. In other words, risky enough to kill at least you, the body itself, and anyone near by, possibly to include all of my friends and their forces at the temple we're rebuilding and maybe, just maybe the rest of the Vanguard on this island." Regardless of how much Kirie refused to help with the resurrection, she did help with the bandaging of the body. "Y'know, we have an ally, Lady Yuna, that has...something, I guess. It might work, but we'd have to get her all the way to the facilities, not to mention getting her approval. It's what saved Rio from dying in the end. I'm not sure. It might not work in this case. I don't know." Kirie stood up, having finished bandaging Koyuki's body. "At any rate, even if I really wanted to save Koyuki, I can't. I command troops and I command others who command troops. What you have planned is...kinda silly, to be honest, and if you think about it enough, I'm sure you'd feel the same. Anyways, I'm also looking for something. Have you maybe seen a giant six legged monster composed of shiny red muscles and durable bones that had the upper body of a little girl on it set above some large horns and a giant cannon? Chiyo has wandered off during the inactivity." |
"She has to stay in this body, at least." Raikotsu's eyes didn't even move from the injuries he was tending to, at least until he heard the word 'silly'. His eyes narrowed dangerously, and his voice held an edge sharper than one of his airblades when he next spoke.
"Don't presume to predict my thinking. Why is trying to bring her back 'silly', if you would care to explain?" he looked over at her. Meanwhile, a great distance away, Untamed Zephyr and a few of the other Windspeakers zipped through the air, dodging gigantic, chitinous arms, the sound of a little girl's giggling filling the air as Chiyo tried to catch the zooming, fluttering, fin-eared demons. |
OOC: Well, I've had a disgusting amount of delay in getting this done. Anyway, here's The Stealinating, Part 2!
Kirakiri's task is a relatively simple one. For now he need only keep Takin's attention fixated on him. The human inventor is almost painfully transparent and his paranoia and obsessions are glaring weaknesses that make him easy to manipulate. An easy task. Not only virtually nothing to draw his suspicion away - Takashi has some ability at moving quietly and is skilled at concealing the traces of himself and his magic - but also Takin's own nature working against him. Its only a matter of time... Takashi looks around the bedrooms with some disappointment. It seems that it wouldn't be so simple as to find the legs conveniently in Kurama's room. It seems Kirakiri overestimated the human's caution. Still, it is not too much of a complication. Takashi resumes human form and stands in the center of the small room. The spellcaster closes his eyes and focuses, carefully weaving together a finely tuned net of sensitive magic and throwing it out to sweep the nearby area. The roiling darkness of even a fragment of Talkatz's aura is plainly obvious and the tendrils of the spell net furl around it, indicating its location. Takashi opens his eyes and allows his spell to dissolve away to nothing. It seems they weren't cautious enough to place a ward to hide it from detection either and he finds no lingering hints of spellcraft to suggest a forgery. With a quick focusing of will, Takashi sends a message to Kirakiri, informing him of this development. With Kirakiri's agreement, he resumes the gecko shape and heads towards the kitchens. Again, with no-one else in the ship and Kirakiri keeping him well aware of Takin's location, it is a simple task. Pausing outside the door to the storeroom, Takashi examines the interior and the door very carefully with his magic. Nothing more than a rudimentary guarding charm and... something else. Takashi is puzzled by it and, choosing to err on the side of caution, performs a minor augury, something that will only reveal the consequences of a few seconds into the future. Some mechanical device is attached to the door and it seems it raises an alarm of some sort if the door is opened. Still, simple enough to negate. Takashi temporarily suppresses the magical ward and then using a spell of opening, knocks almost inaudibly on the door. It swings open quietly. The alarm remains silent. Takashi walks in and sees the legs immediately. Pausing just inches away, he gives the legs another few seconds of intense scrutiny and then satisfied that there are more traps or deceptions. He gathers the legs up and then sends a final message to Kirakiri. I have recovered the legs and am departing now. With his free hand he makes a sweeping gesture and calls on one of the secret names of the Shinkei no Oni. An incorporeal shape wavers into existence before him and then unfurls into a whirling portal. The etheral winds wiping at his clothes but leaving everytihng else nearby untouched, he steps through. The portal closes again, then the insubstantial Shinkei no Oni fades away again. Kirakiri has been attentively listening to Takin's talking while keeping him distracted. The shapechanger has extracted some knowledge essential to a half-formed plan he had been toying with. It has a subtlety in its unsubtlety he finds most amusing. He might yet get an attempt to see how many birds he can kill with one stone. Still, he has to wait - he will not allow anything to endanger his primary mission. On hearing Takashi's final message, he smiles inwardly and then puts the next part of his plan into action. The ninja are already in position: he would have heard if they were not. He counts silently to ten and then assumes a puzzled expression, turning to Takin and asking, "Did you hear that?" Another chance to strike his enemies a crippling blow still exists after all... OOC: Quite a few possibilities offered by this. Kinda funny that the worst possible thing Takin could do is call the guards. |
"Hear what?"
Takin hurriedly reached into his robes and pulled out one of his grenades. His thumb rested near the switch. Unlike the pull-pin grenades normally employed, this simply had a switch to press that would set off a time explosion. Takin gave a wry look at Kirakiri. "I didn't hear anything." |
The boy's mother suffered from a case of the chills, which was fortunately something Pyros had an effective treatment for. The small fireplace now carried within it a large, roaring flame that leapt out from the fire place for a good 3 feet, but didn't set aflame any of the furniture or people. It filled the entire house in a soothing warmth, that would restore the strength to the woman's body. At full strength her body could ward off the illness.
When it was done, Pyros left what remained of his money and headed back out into the town. He retrieved the metal parts neccesary for the repair of the ship, as well as carted the now dry mops. Soon the ship was back in sight, and some guards watched the door, and the lights shined from behind the windows. Takin must be doing something inside, or was just reluctant to enter Vance's rooming. That was fine with Pyros. He didn't feel like sleeping in a crowded castle. He waved to the guards. "Hello! I am Pyros, and I came here on this ship. Please let me pass through." He said with what cheer he had regained from earlier. (OOC:Heh, the worst possible thing Takin could do is reach into his large trove of death dealing weapons of mass destruction. I know these Genius-inventor types. One day they get a bit bored, and make a gun capable of incinerating five galaxies in a single shot. It's called the "Washu Mentality" Wonder if Takin will invent the first buckshot shotgun, and make you fear his boomstick? He seems the type.) |
Armored Bishoujo: "I imagine Takin already has buckshot shotguns, not to mention dual rocket launchers, magneto lazers, gatling guns, mortar cannons, chainsaws, and dual Finger Water Squirters of Doom, all of which are bio-organically integrated into his body along with some spider mines that move and detonate upon catching the appropriate brainwaves. Sadistic genius, that one."
Green Kimono (Kirie) Kirie shrugged helplessly. "I told you why. In fact, I gave you several logical reasons. You just don't seem to like listening to people telling you that this or that idea of yours might not be a good one." Suddenly, a broad beam of light rocketed up from the forest towards the sky, not even remotely aimed at Untamed Zephyr. "Ah, there she is. I better go get her before she does something actually damaging." And with that, Kirie hurried, moving from tree branch to tree branch. |
"I'm past listening to Talkatz OR his advice. Besides, the worst that could happen would be the destruction of her body, and possibly mine, the island and the rest of our forces are in no danger. I SHOULD have been more clear about that." Raikotsu spoke in a maddeningly calm voice, though he only realized once he had finished that the woman he was talking to had vanished, "Feh, damn wench..." he chuckled, shaking his head.
It was finished. He had done everything he could. The rest was up to the Onikaze, and to Koyuki herself. |
"...You are being foolish, however," the hollow voice of Konpaku spoke. "You are attempting to move a soul in a dangerous manner by yourself, when you have standing next to you a being capable of, quite literally, grabbing it, and forcing it back into the body it came from... or perhaps you forgot I was here?"

Green Kimono (Kirie)
Kirie eventually got to Chiyo and the OrchaCannon she was "seated" in, if seated meant that half of her body protruded from an organic red socket located some length above the main weapon, a giant cannon capable of firing stored energy in the form of a lethal beam. If Kirie remembered correctly, the Orchamech would have to gather more energy inside itself to rearm the cannon once again. She wasn't sure of the specifics, though. It was more of Yuna's technology. Per her suggestions, the Orchamech wasn't to be piloted at all, and was there rather as an intimidation factor. This was due to the fact that there was a need to "synchronize" with the Orchamech before it could be controlled. Miraculously, little Chiyo somehow accomplished this feat, and the OrchaCannon deployed with the Kimono forces designed to take the temple was now under her control. This probably wasn't a good idea. Chiyo knew little of such combat, or even combat in general, so Tsubasa had asked her very politely not to cause trouble by using the Orchamech in certain ways. "Aunt Kirie, this is fun!" In spite of having her legs completely sandwiched by powerful muscles, Chiyo wasn't scared, and was even more chipper than usual. "Chiyo-chan, remember what Aunt Tsubasa said? No shooting the guns. Will you please go back to the temple?" "Awww! But we're not doing anything, yet!" The Orchamech shuddered violently, a reaction to Chiyo's frustration. "Yes, I apologize for that. Why don't you have a nap? I think that once you have a refreshing nap, we'll be all ready to go. You can have Aunt Chizuru make you something nice, then." Kirie found that while she detested sounding dumb like this, she didn't mind since it was Chiyo...who just happened to be at the helm of a massive killing machine. "Okay. Bye-bye, Aunt Kirie!" Chiyo waved wildly and the OrchaCannon got moving, the six powerful legs pulling the giant bulk towards the temple. Kirie sighed. "I think I was here to deal with this problem as a reminder of why I think it;s a good idea that I don't have children." |
