Naruto's already stupid. Nobody can change that.

At least they kept his name Rock Lee. On the voice I'm not sure whether to like it or hate it. I'm gonna wait until he gets into more intense situations to judge. As that is where the voice acting shines or does the whole "My ears! They burn!" thing.

One thing I disliked about the Neji and Rock Lee (woot!) voices was that they were far too similar, I couldn't actually tell them apart to begin with. this episode had another of my favorite quotes in it too.

Gaara: What's your name?
Sasuke: Sasuke Uchiha ((I'm still a bit weirded out with the names being the other way round. You don't notice as much with some characters, but they say "Uchiha Sasuke" and "Uzumaki Naruto" a LOT))
Naruto: Do you wan't to know my name?
Gaara: No.
Ironic since it is naruto NOT Sasuke, who finally defeats Gaara in a Jinchuuriki vs. Jinchuuriki showdown!
I agree, I love the scene where Sasuke is completely wasted. It also tells us the Sharingan's weakness which is cool. Rock Lee gets all the best fights in this series.

The thing about Naruto sounding stupid is that he's supposed to sound stupid. To a native japanese speaker Naruto's jap VA sounds like a loudmothed kid. I'm still not the biggest fan of Naruto's VA though, it grates me slightly.

I love Gaara's voice too, it's just perfect for the character. As is Temari's. The one person the dub wont be able to touch though is Orochimaru. I've said it before but that guy's japanese VA is one of the best I've ever heard.

Anyone else wince at Asuma's mispronounciation of Shikamaru?

Naruto's seiyu sounds a lot more threatening when angry in the Japanese than the American version, otherwise their both pretty annoying.

Orochimaru's english voice actor will probably sound more like someone doing an impression of a snake - it'll probably be pretty annoying.

My favourite english voice actor who acts as a villian was from Spawn - the Clown's character when it transforms into Violator still creeps the hell out of me - they should use him.

I'm slightly surprised that someone would mispronounce any of the names - they should have experts their to go through pronounciations, or at least watch the Japanese version.

Well I have to say I like naruto and the world. And I don't think poor voice acting can change the quality sense the best parts of naruto are all visual.

God....I'm going to avoid watching until they get to the Forest. I just hate Sasuke's attitude and everything about him.

I like Lee's lack of contractions, reminds me of Data.

And yes, Sasuke tends to have that effect on people, at least we got to see him getting his ass kicked.

Gai-sensei's voice was just perfect though :D

One of the very few voice acting jobs I like on the americanized show. Other than him I like Kakashi's and the Hokage.

The thing I dont like about Lee's voice is that he sounds too good. Considering the way he looks and acts, he just screams 'dork tryin to be cool'. I think his voice should have been more, well dorky.

Yes. yes, nobody likes Lee's voice (for good reason).

I'm willing to bear with the few bad voice choices they've made (such as some of the souns nins, baah) in exchange for a well-put together dub that brings out the spirit of the original as well as any dub can be expected to.
