I don't mean to imitate the series. That's just how it goes with most rivalries.

One is calm, cool, collected, but also arrogant and full of himself.

The other is a crazy fighter that does strange things and somehow manages to not die.

And what's a cool japanese name for a character that has a balance of Good and Evil in him? It just seems to be a steady pattern in his Alter.

Huh, good point. Never really noticed that before, somehow.

As for names, I just put balance in a translator on some website. Just pick one, if you really want to: Chuushin, Heikou, Kenkou, Kinsei, and Tsuriai (those were the ones that sounded best to me). Don't know if they're quite what you want, but that's just my go at it.

Name: Goudaraby Kurosaki
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Description: Goudaraby is very short, barely reaching 5'2" and has a frail build. His hair is jet black but the tips are strangely always white (a side effect of his alter, and falls around his shoulders, his bangs normally covering his eyes. He wears brown monk's robes wherever he goes and old fashioned wooden sandals.
Personality: Goudaraby always sees things through everyone's point of veiw and because of this is usually too indecisive to take a firm stance on complex situations. However this coupled with his monk patience makes him an ideal negotiater, and mediater (sp?) in heated arguements and debates. His calm demeanor never ceases to leave him even when he is acting in a rush.
Bio: As a young child Goudaraby was always the smallest kid, wherever he went and was routinely picked on. In order to counter this he taught himself enough self-defense to where he could turn an opponent's advantages into their weaknesses. He liked to lure opponents in by playing as if he was weak and frail and building up their confidence then he would suddenly attack violently, and deliberately incapacitating them in one or two blows, normally seriously injuring them.

However when he was 8 his alter first started to manifest itself, upon him that is. It started out as dreams, then began to happen randomly during the day as he got older. During these dreams he would see through the eyes of his victims, their family and everyone else he directly or indirectly harmed, emotionally and physically. When he was 9 some of those he had harmed retaliated against him, however since they knew he was too skilled to fight they took out the abuse on his younger sister, and though they had only intended to rough them up, they killed her. Of course do to his uncontrolled alter power his nightmares became worse and he saw himself killing her. About a year after her death he fled his home town, unable to bear the pain anymore.

He would've died in the wilds of the lost ground, but lone day he saw the spirit of his sister and followed it to find a group of monks. They took him in, and taught him their ways making him a much more patient person, and teaching him to deal with his nightmares. Eventually his nightmares turned to visions of his sister assuring him it was not his fault, and teaching him how to control his alter power, allowing him to avoid as much fighting as possible. When he was 15 he left the monks to share what he had learned.

Alter Name: Regret
Alter Description:

Stage 1: Nightmarish fantasy- This ability has two variations, which are basically the reverse of eachother:

A. The Demon Within: Goudaraby manifest an ethreal demon. This demon cannot react with physical objects, and is translucent. when the demon touches someone time slows down for them and Goudaraby (because he is affected to about 1/3 its normal speed. The target is forced to see pain they have caused in the past, both intentional (harming someone) and unintentional (someone you killed's family and whatnot mournful over there loss), and caused by either action (attacking someone) or inaction. (seeing someone getting attacked but not doing anything to stop it) This either last until Goudaraby ends it, or until the victim musters up enough will to break the trance. If Goudaraby attacks the same person too long with this, serious damage may occur (insanity, victim may commit suicide, etc.)

B.Soothing Balm: Though he rarely uses it Goudaraby does have the ability to channel an ethreal child (his sister). This attack is the opposite of the demon within, and calms the target. It is only useful against people commiting acts because of intense loss, or pain.

Stage 2: Vengence- Goudaraby manifest a demon, however this time it is physical. The demon can be seen here. Every time the demon's claws strike its target it causes an image to flash before their mind briefly of the pain they've caused in the past, momentarily distracting most for a short period of time. The demon attacks with an emphasis on speed over power. Its final attack is to grab its legs and spins itself into a spiked wheel (think Sonic) that then flies at its target. Though Goudaraby has control over it, he won't realize it as first.

Stage 3: Redemption: During redemption Goudaraby becames a paladin-esque warrior. He becomes clad in armor similar to this however his armor is silver, has no shield, but weilds a large runed sword, and is accented by a blood red cloak. However there is no increase in size, and once again the focus is on speed over strength. The final attack of redemption is for the armor (but not the cape) to actually fly off Goudaraby and form a staff on the end of the sword while the blade curves to form a scythe. He then gets one wide arc swipe with the scythe that propels out a large energy wave.

Name: Shiro Kyosuke
Age: 19
Gender: Male

Personality: Shiro is usually nice and calm, but he gets mad when alter users abuse their powers extensively. For fun he will scare people with small explosions, but he never does any harm. He really likes explosions and alter fights.
Bio: Shiro goes around and explodes bad alter users.

Alter Name: Mini-bombs
Alter Description:
1st Form: Little exploding balls can be created in the user's hands. Power of explosion can be controlled, from a harmless pop to a hand-grenade.

2nd Form: The mini-bombs can be created much faster, and controlled by the user's mind. Still explode on impact. Force of explosion can go up to a stick of dynamite.

3rd Form: User can create mini-bombs within a 500 yard radius of himself, and detonate them at will. Power of explosion can go up to that of C4. Basically, if he can see it, it can explode.

Note that for all forms, the actual alter power is simply creating 1 mini-bomb. It's just quick and easy to do, so he can make many.


Also, could extreme boredom be a trigger for the 2nd Stage?

It probably could be but I pretty sure you'd shoot or otherwise kill yourself long before it got that far.

Age: 21
Gender: Male
Description: Just under 6'1" with a slighty stocky build. Sev's height makes him look thinner than he actually is somewhat hiding slightly overweight nature. Sev's hair is usually a complete and utter mess with small dark curls sticking out in random directions. Usually dressed in dark shorts and a T-shirt Sev has a casual just rolled out of bed look that usually puts others at ease. Of course the more apperance minded often find his appearence offensive.
Personality: As indicated by his look Sev isn't very organized. Intelligent and normally introspective Sev has beed known for random out bursts of anger. He posses a unique sense of justice and will often hit first and think later when offended.
Bio: Sev grew up in a small village just outside the city. His parents were able to find good jobs in the city and provided Sev with a good life. He went to a nice school but didn't really make friends well. One day the kids at school had discovered his unusual temper and after that no one would have anything to do with him. The appearence of his alter power didn't help much and in fact made him a bigger target. To make matters worse his teachers began to distrust him and stopped punishing the kids that picked on him. All this contributed to his unique sense of justice and an odd need to help the downtrodden.


Alter name: The Unseen Doors
Alter description:
1st form: A thin silverish metal covers the users hands and feet to just past the first joint. This adds protection and increases the users strength, speed, and agility. It also allows them to safely travel through portals the user opens that transport the limb long distances. This allows the user to strike another user from a distance and from unexpected angles. Additionally the user has one sword like blade that extends from the back of his hand while preforming his alter's special attack. This attack increases the force of his strike and can cause a small explosion after which the blade used disappears.

2nd form: The armor extends upward to just bast the second joint of the respective appendage. (Knees on his legs and elbows on his arms.) The metal also forms a close fitting helmet with a visor. In this form the user can move his whole body small distances through one of his portals. This becomes progressively harder to do the more he uses it. He aslo gains is second special attack where he transports his whole body as far as he can his limbs. He reaches above his head while doing so and fuses his hands together forming a powerfull club to smash whatever he is fighting. He also gains the ability to regenerate the blades on the back of his hands.

3rd form:The user becomes fully encased in armor and can transport his full body nearly any distance. The blades on the back of his hands can now detach and fly around on their own. Under exterem circumstances the user can combine the two blades into one ornate sword which slices through almost anything and can even cause things to be sliced through from a distance.

Oh and the first chapter will probably be up tomorrow and if you don't happen to have a character ready don't worry about it. Also, the story about how you got your second form alter doesn't have to be one post. In fact it'll probably work better if you break it up into a series of posts.

I don't mean like adults, I mean like other kids harassing him. Think Ender Wiggin from Ender's Game, except not to the point of killing, but rather knocking out or making them one away when they see how he's managed to injure them. Maybe my wording was just wrong.

Why would you kill yourself because you are very bored?



Alter Power - Something revolving around precognition. For example:

1st Form - Machine that gives a video feed of what will happen next in targeted area

2nd Form - Better version.

3rd Form - Machine can slightly alter the course of future events.


Alter Power - Flying stuff

1st Form - Some sort of flying machine

2nd Form - Much faster, maybe add some weapons, possibly attached to alter user

3rd Form - Power-flying suit of doom


Alter Power - Gaint robot

1st Form - Big robot

2nd Form - Bigger robot

3rd Form - Godzilla


Alter Power - Something that lets you make stuff

1st Form - Paintbrush that creates what you draw (Some sort of limit)

2nd Form - Less of a limit, more accurate

3rd Form - Barely any limits

Don't tell me you've never heard of dieing of bordem and to get enough energy out of being bored you'd have to basically be in a sensory deprivation chamber for a few years. That and have lost the ability to be creative in any way, sleep and even dream. So that you spend the entire time getting no new input into your brain. I'm pretty sure that'd make you really crazy. It's just hard to imagine someone being so bored they channel as much emotion as someone that just lost a loved one or something.
