S-cry-ed: In the begining.
(ooc: This is where you tell all about how you got your second form alter. How you do that is up to you. You can tell it as something happening in the time of the RP or a flash back during a fight or talking to friends or anything you can think of. Totally up to you. I just had an idea. Before I get into each chapter I'll write a sort of chapter goal which will state the main story advancement I'm going for; that way it won't come totally out of the blue. No surprise this chapter's goal is getting your second form alter. Breaking up the event into many posts is advisable.)
Sev slowly opened his eyes and groaned in protest at the thunderous rumbling going on just outside. He had always regretted buying this house near the overhead train but he had to admit the regular train schedual made a nice alarm clock. As he stared at the ceiling a small piece of plaster broke loose hitting him square in the forehead. That is one thing I could live without, he thought to himself. Sitting up and brushing himself off he jumped out of bed quickly. Sev quickly rushed through his morning routine and was out the door in minutes. As he stepped into the cool morning light a slight chill ran down his back. Quickly dismissing it out of hand he headed toward the center of his small town hoping someone would have an odd job or two for him today. |
The early morning light struck Kinsei Nimuro's eyes, and he awoke with a small groan. His back hurt. Well, sleeping on the roof of a house does that to you.
He slowly sat up and took a small look. He was currently sitting on the roof of a house that contained a family that had no place to put him but up on top. Kinsei didn't complain. It was a place to sleep, and there had been no rain. He brushed some stray hair away from his eyes. He slowly crept up to the edge of the roof, and took a small leap. He landed nimbly on the ground. "Mistah Kinsei. MISTAH KINSEI!" Kinsei turned to see a small boy, probably around the age of seven, come running up to him. He still couldn't pronounce r's very well, so 'mister' came out as 'mistah'. Kinsei smiled when he saw the small child run up. "Hello there, Tinkan. How are you this morning." "Momma wants me to go to the shop downtown. Do you wanna come?" The boy looked up with a silent joy. "Sure, kid. Let's lock and load." Kinsei reached down, and grabbed Tinkan by the scruff of the shirt. He raised the boy up, and put him on his shoulders. As they began to walk away, Kinsei reached into his pocket, pulled out a cigarette, and placed it in his mouth. He didn't light it yet. The boy was on his shoulders. Smoking was a nasty habit, he knew, and he didn't want the kid to have it. He'd wait until the boy went into the shop before he lit up. |
For the longest time, he had been training, pushing himself to get stronger. However...he still couldn't control it. He couldn't make his altar manifest the way he wanted it to.
Sure, he could activate it, but that wasn't enough power. Not for what he wanted to do. Nowhere near what he wanted to do. He had only achieved it once, weeks ago, to move his air as he wished it to, and ever since then he's been trying to call it back. It was no use, though. Nothing seemed to come. Am I lacking something? There was no time to think about that now. It didn't do to get lost in thought, especially when you were terrorizing a city. |
GadGad stopped at the top of the hill. Beyond him was a rolling field, sparkling with dew and dotted by waking cows. He had started today just before sunrise, as he usually does. He thought he had felt the winds of a farm that evening, just before he let his alter disolve into dust, and he was thrilled to find it so picturesque. These were the places GadGad was most fond of--places where one could forget that bad guys existed and people would grin along with him instead of scowling.
..."Man, I'm introspective today! Cool." GadGad started down the hill, sliding on a cusion of air into the field. The cows ignored him, even the ones he greeted. "Hey cow!" Nothing. But he didn't expect the cows to care (though he would've liked it if they had), and he continued on to the farm house. The door hung open and he smelled breakfast cooking. He wasn't hungry--he'd already eaten some of the energy bars in his pockets--so he waited outside for the farmer to start his day, hoping that he'd get to help. "Dear, did you hire any new hands?" asked the farmer's wife. "No ma'am I didn't," he replied. "Why?" "There's a boy leaning on the fence. He just waved at me." "Hol' on, I'll take care of it." GadGad bounced off the fence when the farmer appeared in the doorway. GadGad thought he must be in a hurry to get started. Grinning, GadGad called out to him, "Hi! Want any help with anything?" The farmer raised a rifle, and GadGad quickly understood that the farmer didn't want to make a friend that day. The grin never leaving him, he sputtered "OkI'llbegoingnow!" and took off over the fence and down the road, wondering why the man didn't like him. |
Renor looked at Raviel, his alter Solaris having just pierced an alter user. "You seem distracted." Solaris retracted its spike back into its sphereical form. "Still trying to recall your alter's higher form. After we are done here I will help you, assuming we both live." Another spike shot out killing a user behind them while Renor remained motionless. "Sadly there seems to be no worthy users to fight. Perhapps we can attack the walled city once you perfect your ability."
He then looked far off into the distance where their other comrades are. He could tell it was them by the heavy alter power use. "Untill then stay alert. They maybe weak but if your guard is down they could be a threat." It was true Renor was not the talkative type, but he believes all users should strive for greater power and has no scruples about helping a fellow member of the organization. Though even when he does he comes off as arrogant. After all he is currently the strongest member. |
Raviel smiled at Renor, avoiding the baton of one of his attackers. "I'll be okay, all the altar users are aiming at you. Remember, I'm here to make sure you don't drastically hurt the norms. And with the people we have right now, don't you think we could attack anywhere without much trouble?"
And it was true. Renor was the more obvious threat, so anybody with an altar was going after him. In this mission, it was simply the younger man's job to make sure that nobody tried to mob his partner-after all, he didn't want too many people getting hurt. Then again, if this carried on for much longer, more people would get killed than he had intended. "Shouldn't we finish this now, Renor? We could...you know, just drop a building on them." |
Kinsei walked down a row of houses, Tinken still riding his shoulders. Kinsei was making bird calls, and Tinken was sputtering while trying to imitate him. Though he failed repeatedly, he still laughed loudly. Those who heard the laughter and could see the man carrying the child smiled. Kinsei smiled with them. This wasn't a rich neighborhood. These people had hard times, and even the simplest things as a smile was a treasure Kinsei wanted to protect here.
"MOMMA!" Kinsei's head moved swiftly. He saw a girl sitting in front of her house, a small leaf was burning. An alter user. An just figuring out her new power, as it seemed. Kinsei would normally smile, but his eyes were fixated on the burning leaf. The burning. The smoldering. The incineration... He came upon the houses. They were all set aflame. The smoke began to block his vision. Though his hair was kept out of his eyes with the use of his alter's headband, his view was still blocked. He had to rely on his ears. He tucked Dawn and Dusk into his belt loops, and rushed forward into the heat. If he could save at least one. If only one of the village. He heard his name being called out. 'Kinsei! Kinsei!' "Kinsei! Mistah Kinsei!" Kinsei awoke from his trance. "Yes, Tinkan." "I can do it, Mista Kinsei. I can do it!" Tinkan puckered up his lips and blew. It was rough, but Kinsei could hear the small rythem of a robin. Kinsei smiled, and continued to walk. |
The city that was suddenly attacked by bad alter users was lucky that Shiro just happened to be there. Unfortunately, he was on the other side of the city, so he got to the fight late.
His first encounter was with an alter user copying the powers of others. Like most of Shiro's opponents, he was quickly exploded. Shiro didn't kill him, just caused extreme pain until the alter user lost consciousness. He wasn't sure what the other alter users who the mimic was fighting would do to their now defennseless foe, but he didn't care. Shiro had to go explode some other evil alter users. The excitement of that first fight had gotten Shiro close to unleashing his second form alter, so his next opponent would be an unlucky one. OOC: If there's any problem with Shiro taking out the mimic, I'll edit it. |
As the dawn broke it created a brilliant crimson sky, it was truly the perfect setting for such an event. Three gladiators or might and steel stood tall facing their final opponent. Kitsume spoke first, "Is this really necessary, I think we've proven our bravery more then enough for one lifetime."
Kyosuke's visor glinted in the soft morning light, "It seems only right, we've already faced the best this town has to offer." "We're just rounding everything out now gentlemen." Ginji smiled deeply, "Are you ready?" The two nodded in unison, the mood was somber like that of soldiers facing their last foe. "ARE YOU GUYS GOING TO JUMP OR WHAT?!" A legion of children belted out from far below. "SHUT UP ALREADY WE ARE GOING TO JUMP!" Ginji's clenched fist was held back from the children below by his compatriots as the tried to force him back from the edge. Taking a sudden calm and cool appearance and attitude Ginji spoke once more, "Alright, this is the last ramp in all of the southwest sector of the lost grounds, we three stand on the brink of a truly great achievement... and really big ramp." It hadn't looked this tall from below, but Ginji couldn't back down now, not after all the others. "We are truly the greatest pre-pubescent daredevils of all the lost grounds..." Kyosuke nervously flipped his visor open, "But we should probably hurry this up before my mother figures out I'm missing." "Agreed." The three spoke in unison, Kyosuke's mother was someone to be afraid of. The two engines exploded into a rightous fury, they held their motorcycles steady as they looked to Ginji. He ceremoniously lowered his goggles letting his hazel hair fall before his eyes. His hands raised up and the two grabbed one and began revving. As their tires squeeled the flew down the sides of the ramp dragging Ginji along it, he groaned as the hurled him forward. He ripped off the ramp with a rewarding skiff noise, Ginji sailed through the air the smile growing ever wider across his face. He gripped his board tightly with his hand as he tucked his body and began rolling backwards. TOO STEEP! Ginji's eyes fell to the earth below, solid concrete, I could die. The thought only crossed his mind for a second, but the board warped to nothing anyways becoming the all too familiar megaphone Ginji knew as a protector. Looking quickly to his hand Ginji cursed, "Awwwwww, shit." He really was going to die. His body stopped short of the earth below, his shirt seemed to be caught on something. He looked over to find a familiar face, "So, living the life of a daredevil again are you Mr. Yamada." Ginji kept a straight face as he raised Quackers to his lips, "Wes, I wam, Wofficer Whakashi." "IT'S OFFICER TAKASHI!" He held the boy closer to illustrate his anger. Ginji raised his goggles up as he spoke into quackers once more, "Wats what I wed!" His voice seemed quite irritated through the duck megaphone. Officer Takashi didn't seem amused. "So who else is their to punish today? Kitsume? That punk friend of yours Kyosuke?" The two looked around to see nothing but a single rolling weed. "I don't whink wo?" Ginji continued through a duck voice. Officer Takashi began dragging him off as he whined. "One of these days Ginji I'll discover I have an alter and that'll be the end of you." "Shure wit will, shure wit will." Ginji continued to taunt as he dragged his feet down the road. |
Pain.
Groaning, the man woke up. The smell of burnt wood filled his nose. Pain assaulted his body, especially his head. He tried to remember what happened to him. Tried to remember why he was hurt, tried to remember why he was surrounded by the smell of fire. But his memory yielded only one thing. My name is Nathaniel Downing. Nathaniel opened his eyes. Black smoke bellowed into the sky. Despite the protest in his body, Nat sat up. Around him, a village was burning. Bodies lay where they fell in the street. What happened here? he thought to himself. Who did this? Nathaniel looked at himself. He wore what once must of been a uniform...but it was damaged beyond recognition now. Blood obsured whatever markings might of been survived the tears and holes. "Hey, fellas! Looks like we have a live one!" Nathaniel looked over. Four men walked towards him, all in uniform. Not the same color as mine, though. he thought to himself. Two of the men carried large automatic weapons, the other two had pistols strapped on, but the weapons were holstered. "You right, Johnny." One of unarmed men sneered. "One of the S.O.B.s decided to hang around a little longer." Nathaniel stood, and nearly toppled back over from the pain in his head. He stared at the men as they approached. Even though he knew they were enemies, he had to ask them. "What happened here?" he said weakly. The sneer on the man, who Nathaniel now assumed was the leader of this little band, deepened. "Poor guy," the man scoffed, "He doesn't remember. He doesn't remember why he has to die." The two men with guns aimed, and fired. |
