The door inches open and Calico's smile spreads across his face. As the man steps through Calico launches himself from his spot, whipping his alter into position and laying down enough fire power to level small town. The newcomer throws himself forwards, then whips around, bringing his own alter into existence. His body ripples and changes, growing bigger and stronger even as he dodges the massive amount of energy bolts that smash into the floor and walls around him. He takes a blast on his arm as he rushes towards Calico and raises his arm to punch Calico in the face. Calico's smile braodens even more as he duck under the slower man's punch and delivers a rapid fire blast of six or seven shots, even Calico couldn't tell how many shots he fired. Unfortunatley forCalico, the armored man merely shrugs off the blasts and advances towards the gunman once again. Calico chuckles, reveling in the amount of destruction he and this alter user would wreak before one of them fell prey to the attacks of the other. Calico dances backwards, dodging punches adn kicks from the armored alter user.
Outside the old decrept building another occurence of a less violent though totally related origin takes place. An old man stands next to a younger one as the gunfire and explosions drift through the walls to the pair of them. The young man smiles and the old man's eyes go wide. "I thought you said this was a routine delivery?" The older man cries in alarm. "Oh it is a delivery, and the man inside finds it quite routine," he smiles at his own wit. "The only thing that's changed is what's to be delivered. Right now it's your alter user's head." With that the young man pulls a gun out of his jacket and fries two bullets into the old man's head. Leaving him dead in the street the younger man slips inot a side ally and promptly disappears. |
Kaita knew firing like this was futile, and he was just wasting his time. But he was still feeling that he just had to injure this guy. That didn't mean he couldn't injure him more seriously though.
With a small smirk, Kaita adjusted his aim better hit Kinsei. But he wasn't done there. Lining up the crosshair for the tracking guns in front of Kinsei, he began firing the guns one at a time. Small blue lights started flaring up across the darkening sky, along with the bullets from his arm guns. He kept firing that way, aiming in front of Kinsei with the tracking guns, and trying to do anything else with the arm guns. "Like hunting ducks..." he thought kind of cruelly as he shot. It was still rather futile, but he was getting closer each time he shot. His accuracy was improving on a whim, and it was probably just a matter of time before he managed to get a hit. At least he hoped that was the case. |
Kinsei did a barrelroll in the air. The bullets were getting closer. The kid hadn't done anything yet, but he was about to. He was trying to shoot him down.
He moved slightly as an energy bullet grazed his dragon wing. He felt a small pain as the dark red skin burned slightly. The kid was shooting energy ammo now. His bullet-proof wing will be useless. He turned and started to perform a nosedive. "Alright kid. You want a fight? I'll give you a fight." Night and Day were out, spinning in the air in front of him. The bullets honed in on Kinsei, and were quickly knocked out of the way by the swords. If he could get in close, it wouldn't matter how many bullets the kid had. Night would have its fill of blood for the night. As he thought that, Kinsei swung downwards with Night. Two spikes of pure darkness materialized in the air, and shot forward at Kaita. |
Suddenly Sev realized he had been babling a little. Damnit, he scolded himself, whatever they injected me with has turned me into a babling idiot. Standing up he wandered into the resturant after Checkers wondering why he had left in such a hurry. He was still a little fuzzy from being drugged and he wasn't exactly sure what all was going on. He stumbled up to the counter suddenly noticeing a splitting headache. Sev quickly ordered a coffee and walked over to Checkers will sipping from the stained ceramic cup. "Anything I can do to help," he asked.
|
Checkers spoke with the Waitress but came to the conclusion he had been used. Normally in this situation he would have just run away, but with a little girl to take care of it wasn't an option. He settled the bill and sat down next to his charge. moving the food to that side. He watched as the man stumbled a bit and sat down.
"Anything I can do to help?" Sev asked. "Not unless you recognize this young lady. Or know of a way I can make some quick cash." Checkers said as he began eating awkwardly with his left hand while keeping his right on his charge stroking her hair in a comforting way. He could tell she was a little frazzled at his sudden running around. "Or a way to keep off both the bad and good side of that group you mentioned." |
Still shooting, Kaita could barely see the darkness streaking toward him. He moved his head out of the way of one that was heading for his throat, but couldn't avoid the one heading for his leg. That spike went all the way through the right side of his right thigh, but stopped with most of its length poking out the back of his leg. He grunted in pain, but kept firing, throwing his aim off as he got hit.
Shooting wasn't doing any good right now, at least while Kinsei was so close. Stopping his shooting, he braced for the swing that inevitably was going to come at him. He could see the black sword being swung first, and stuck his left hand up, ready to block with the spike on his hand. It seemed to take forever to connect, but it eventually did. The force of the blow pushed Kaita back, but he held his ground, even with his injured leg. His alter was holding together as well, but it didn't help that he had no strength enhancements. His arm shook under the pressure, but he managed to keep the sword away from his body. Pushing Night to his right, Kaita sidestepped to the left, barely avoiding a slash coming from Day. He had to get some distance, but how? That was when he got an idea. Kaita started shooting the ground in front of Kinsei while he was still near it. Throwing up huge clouds of dust from the power, the bullets tore through the concrete with ease. With this time, Kaita took what little time he had to pull the spike out of his leg, and began limping backwards while shooting. He had to get through this. If he had to use his big guns, he would use them. He would blow the whole area apart if he had to. At these thoughts, the guns on his back began to almost twitch, like they were demanding use. He would hold them off for now, but he would still use them. "Damn leg, get me in range so I don't blow myslef up!" Kaita thought as he kept going backwards. |
Kinsei's wings flapped back as the dust covered his view. He saw Kaita limp away to get a better target. Kinsei decided to take advantage of the situation.
He soared quickly at Kaita, hoping to strike him before he could finish aiming. Suddenly, one of the guns on Kaita's body opened fire. "Shit..." Kinsei did a quick barrelroll and rise. He felt the bullets bounce off his dragon wing, but cried out in slight pain as they tore into his angel wing. Feathers flew wildly. There was still enough of the angel wing to keep him aflight, but he had to be careful. The angel wing could only block energy attacks, not physical objects. |
GadGad stopped humming when Goudaraby asked him how far the ocean was. Not looking back, he said, "I dunno. It feels like about two days walk." He started humming to himself again. A couple of minutes later, he ran out of notes. He turned around and started walking backwards. Pulling another drink pouch from his jacket, he asked, "So, Goudy, where're ya from? I'm from Hayama. It's next to the ocean...." He stopped smiling for a second, turning his eyes up in concentration. "Actually, I think that might be where we're headed." GadGad started smiling again. "Won't that be neat?! Anyway, where're you from; what's yer deal? I can tell you have a deal; I wanna know! Pleeease?"

A few alter users walked by the medical wing. One of them spoke with the doctor. "May we speak with him?" The doctor nodded and pushed a small button next to a pod, inside was Renor. "Sir we have nearly completed the preperations."
Renor was suspended in what they called alter fluid. The fluid greatly excellerated the healing process of alter users and prevents deterioration. He had a small mask to breath and speak with. "Good, I only need one more cycle then I am done. Was the message sent?" "We dispatched the messenger, he has yet to return." "Well whether they got it or not doesn't matter. I do dislike having humans around during fights. They distract our foes. But if they are not evacuated we shall have to dispatch them. Remember a painless death is also the cleanest." The members bowed and exited the medical lab. The doctor approached the chamber. "are you sure you want to do this? You may lose several members. You did warn them after all." He leaned back, "If I didn't then I would be tarnishing all that we stand for. You should always wake a sleeping foe." "What about that last city?" "The users hid themselves. We had no other way to draw them out. Besides they were weak humans. We try not to spill innocent blood, but in this day and age the middle of a city is the only battle-field left." The doctor smiled. "To think the great Renor actually hates killing defenceless foes." "Of course, whats the challenge in that?" |
Sergeant Takahashi Gakyou. A Class alter user. Master of Ghost Legion. One of the most useful, if not most powerful, alter users the APF employed. Veteran of multiple battles with multiple alter criminals, few of which survived. The higher ups didn't trust him, but he was too valuable, and too much of a wild card, to cut loose.
None of that, apparently meant anything to Gakyou, however, as he drifted off to sleep in his office on the fourth floor of Central HQ, located directly in the center of the walled city. It wasn't a rare occurence. The chair he was given was very comfortable, and with his feet propped up on the desk he was sitting infront of it was nearly as comfortable as a bed. However, as with everytime he slept, he began to dream, and, as with everytime he dreamt, his dreams were of when he lost his arm. There was little left of the village. The task force hadn't gotten there in time, or maybe they had barely gotten there in time. It was too late to save the people, but the alter responsible was still there, standing over the corpses of one of the last families. Blood was splattered over the strange alter material that covered his body like a knight's suit of armor. Taken and Honryu were both shocked. Appalled by what was going on. Gakyou, however, retained his calm. He couldn't care less about the murdered families, or about the alter who had done it. The only thing he cared about was that this alter had undeniably committed a crime that would bring him the death penalty. This meant that Gakyou didn't have to worry about keeping him alive. The alter force shimmered around Gakyou and a few rocks began to disappear, and then more as Honryu and Taken began to activate their own powers as well... "...Sergeant Takahashi..." Honryu seemed to whisper to Gakyou, but his voice was wrong it was... "Sergeant Takahashi!" Gakyou opened his eyes slowly to see another member of the APF standing in front of his desk. A younger girl, whose ability gave her razor sharp claws and improved both her speed and strength. Even without it, however, she was an incredible warrior. Another A class, but she hadn't been with the APF long enough to earn a sergeant rank. "Hmm...?" Gakyou asked, not yet awake enough to bother speaking a full word. "We've gotten a communique from the Closed Fist! They're planning on attacking the walled city! The mayor has already ordered a full evacuation of the city, except for the alter police and alter users willing to help." Gakyou yawned slightly, and opened his eye completely, at last. "The... Closed Fist? We've been trying to hunt them down for months. I can't believe they're stupid enough to actually attack us here," he questioned, the weariness slowly beginning to leave his voice. "Well believe it, sir. We've arrested the messenger and are currently questioning him to learn of their abilities, so that we can better prepare. Right now it looks as though you, I, and Ioshi will be working together. We're all to prepare ourselves and report to the city outside the wall. We don't know when they'll be here, but Iori will keep watch." Gakyou nodded, taking stock of everything she said. Iori was a class C alter, but her ability was still extremely useful, especially in a situation like this. The Farseeing Eye allowed her to look out over vast distances and watch for anything out of the ordinary. In this case she'd be watching for an army. Ioshi, on the other hand, was a B class, whose alter created a pair of napalm flame throwers over each arm. Powerful, but it really wasn't up to snuff against other A classes. At least not on its own. All in all, Gakyou wasn't too worried. He had been given two of the best, non-ranking, members of the APF. Of course, the other sergeants and senior sergeants had abilities which dwarfed Ioshi's, if not Iori's or even his own, but the sergeants were always paired with lower ranking members in these kinds of situations. "One more thing, sir, the military has also been alerted. We don't know whether they will send support or not at this juncture, however." Gakyou nodded once more. "Thank you, Detective." She nodded and turned to leave his office, and, once his door had swished shut, Gakyou swung his feet back up onto his desk and leaned back. The city beyond the wall could wait for a few hours. He was still a little tired. (OOC: And that leaves room for Sev to be contacted about it if he wants.) |
