Emulator questions

Where could I find and download a good emulator and do you need a constant internet connection to use a game on it? I would like to find one to download and possibly be able to play it while at work. I do own the games that I want to be able to play. Thanks for any help in advance.

If you own the games then I would suggest www.zophar.net. No need for a constant internet connection.

No ROM discussions in this thread though. ROMs are bad for the forum. Emulators are sketchy but I will allow this thread for now.

I could give you a lot more help if you told me what system you're looking for. And for all emulators, an internet connection is not needed.

Erm... the subject is emulation, not acquiring a real SNES. Even if it was, it's not like Majik can waltz into his workplace with an SNES under one arm and set it up. (Majik, if I'm wrong, I officially want your job.)

And strictly speaking, even if it was the subject there's no use posting if you wouldn't sell it... bah, bottom line of all this is, you seem to be in our focus an awful lot lately. :brow:

Oh, and ZSNES is a good one, too.

Yeah, I've never had a problem with ZSNES. Been using it for years.

Yeah, I've always preferred ZSNES. I'm guessing 9x should be about on par, but at least to me ZSNES always seemed to have a better feature set and better compatibility. Either way, you can't go wrong; They've been in development the longest out of anything available at the moment.

I remember using those two on my old Gateway 2000 back when the Pentium II had just hit the market, to give you an idea of how long they've been around.

By the way: The patent is up on the Faicom (NES) ... I hear several developers are making their own version of our freindly little peice of history.

But yeah - I don't have much advice on emulation but this; Watch out for any sites you download Emulators, or any of the associated flies played on such - Most of them are links to dirty, dirty places. Or links that send you from one site to the next without any downloads at all.
