Gotta get back(back to the past)
SAMURAI JACK!, Watch out!
What happed to Samurai Jack?, that was an excellent show and it just went away. Did something happen to the creator? Is it coming back? anybody got an answer? |
'Twas cancelled before all the episodes were aired. Cartoon Network ordered 52 episodes, but I am unsure of how many were ever played, or if the "lost" episodes will ever be shown, or will part of the DVDs, or whatnot.
|
thing I dont get is that the show was excellent, most would say a classic. Several were as well made as high end anime movies.
|
Yeah, according to the wikipedia article, it won an emmy for best animated series.
Why was it cancelled, you ask? Who knows. But, to paraphrase what someone on another site said about the matter: "Samuria Jack broke the formula. It was excellent, so they cancelled it." |
There was a problem with Samurai Jack--he had no one to talk to. You have this farly cool guy with a unique perspective lost in a world he never fathomed before, and no one for him to talk about it with. Why were the Scottsman episodes some of the best? Because there was a foil. Without dialouge, it degrades into predictable plot-twists and swinging a magic katana. It's very entertaining and often wonderful to look at, but that flaw kept them from exploring everything Samurai Jack could've been.
I hope that they do show the other episodes someday, though. It was an awesome show. |
I'm pretty sure they got to episode 49 "Seasons of Death".
Heh. What happed to the other three episodes? |
The three unaired episodes involve (50) Jack fights an old retired robot assassin, (51) young Jack saves his African tribe from something, and (52) Jack finds a baby.
Does it still air though? Also, the Scottsman episodes were the best because of the Scottsman. |
No, they aren't playing it anymore.
And how did you know what the missing episodes were? Did you see them somewhere? |
Cartoon Network's Samurai Jack section has all 52 episodes listed.
http://www.cartoonnetwork.com/tv_shows/samuraijack/ And I know I've seen it within the last two months... I figured it just had some crappy, unadvertised time slot that probably changed every now and then. Or it could have been a one time thing. |
I just watched #48.
Holy shit. That was some weird-ass writing in that one. |
