Superman's hair

I was thinking back to an old issue of Superman that I read once, and within it was mentioned that due to his invulnerabilities, he needed to shave using a concave mirror and his heat vision. This touched off a query in my mind, and I got to wondering: How does Superman cut his hair? If he used his heat vision, it would be singed and burned unevenly, and he would not have the precision for his trademark 'S' curl.

Any thoughts/opinions on the matter?

wel i have a theory that he has someone that knows his secret come in with kryptonite and since he is weakened when it is around so his hair would be and it could be cut by regular means.

He is a trained barber as well as a superhero.

It's a little known fact that kryptonian is just another name for saiyan, and, like the saiyans, Superman's hair doesn't actually grow at all, except when neccessary to maintain its style.

Kryptonite scissors would work, but that stuff doesn't just grow on trees...except maybe kryptonian trees...it's probably a mineral, defiantly not trees? And would he really want to let MORE people in on his secret, just for a quick trim?

ok one krylo the same thought went through my head

and two wyvern_55 not Kryptonite scissors just Kryptonite by superman to weaken him a little and it would be with someone like lois doing the hair cutting or one of the JLA you know to keep his secret safe.

He could use a pair of enchanted scissors. He's vulnerable to magic, so that would work.

On a side note, why would he need to tell any secret for someone to cut his hair? It wouldn't be like he went to the barber as Clark Kent. It would just be Superman coming in and asking for a haircut.

This for some strange reason brings a question to my mind.
did anyone ever take off Clark's glasses while he was getting a vision test and noticed that he was indeed superman?

wait a sniff...

Okay, forget the present Superman for a moment and let’s go back. Enchanted scissors and kryptonite weren’t always an abundant resource for superman. My knowledge of superman is pretty shaky, but from what I (think I) know, kryptonite wasn’t revealed to superman until his later years. How was his hair cut, before the discovery that kryptonite sapped his power? His parents couldn’t very well permit him to wander about the streets looking like some miniature-sized punk rocker. I mean, they were respectable people.
And if kryptonite is used in the hair trimming process, why wouldn’t he use it for shaving? Why eye beams? I mean I enjoy a close shave as much as the next guy, but isn’t that a tad extreme?

Just trying to help get down to the real concrete (uh...) guesses…

Post script: As for the glasses, I don’t think Clark really needs them does he? They’re just for show. Thus eliminating the need for eye exams entirely.

It's simple. Krypto does it. Problem solved.

Either that, or Kryptonians are also gifted with the unique ability to control the growth and shape of their hair.
