Boredom

So, here I am, quarter of four in the morning, sitting at my computer, alternately staring at the screen (which, despite it being a technological marvel from the distant future of 1999, does not show me fascinating sites and flashing colors and the like, only a bleak and lifeless forum page) and a bottle of Pappy's Sassafras Concentrate Instant Tea (unopened, it's flavorful mysteries remaining just as mysterious as an unopened bottle of sassafras tea concentrate can be). I'm sitting here, contemplating wether I should make a thread on the very essence of my boredom, or continue contemplating the existance of pixels and developing a detailed summary of the day to day life of a pixel, including detailed graphs and flowcharts that describe it's daily social interactions and coffee consumption. As obvious the answer to that specific quandry may seem, it is in fact not. For, with the miracle of alt-tab, I may be able to do both nearly simultaneously! Ah, the technological marvels of the very distant future year of 1999, what will we do until you fully arrive?

In an attempt to remedy my ever so persistant state of boredomness, I entered into my bathroom where, most expectantly, there was a bath. There was also a sink, and a toilet, which, I suppose, in some perspectives, could be considered merely different types of baths, one for the hands, one for, well, we don't need to get into that one, but those two things are not of importance. I step into the bath tub, as it may be called, as it is a tub which is designed to contain baths, I turned a few knobs, pulled a stopper, and through the technological wonders of plumbing, water started to rain from overhead. Shower, as it may be called. And thus, the lathering began.

After the showering water failed to cure my boredom, a most curious thing happened. I noticed a fly buzzing around. And, also within my bathroom was a very peculiar plant, which had been named Venus Flytrap. Well, it should be common practice that all bathrooms come equipped with a toilet, sink, and venus flytrap. Most curiously, not all bathrooms have baths in them. Very odd. Anyway, in another ingenious attempt to cure my boredom, I spent the next fifteen minutes trying to coerce the small fly, with it's incessent buzzing and flying and zig-zagging, into the gaping maw of an opened trap. But the fly was a wily adversary. It seemed to know something was admiss. The cat and mouse game had begun. And the fly had the upperhand, wherein it knew where it would go, and what it would do. It's incessent flying and buzzing and zig-zaging where actually ingenious evasive manuvers, designed to avoid any sort of untimely demise. Not that an untimely demise would hurt it anyway, the fucker only lives a couple of days. Anyway, everytime it actually would concede and land on the very peculiar plant, it would sit on the exposed soil. It's mockery would not be tolerated, and it certainly would not cure my boredom, so I left, closing the door behind me. I wanted to ensure that the fly was entrapped in an encosed space, and hopefully will become enclosed in a much smaller, much more digestive space in a very short time.

Upon returning to my room, I am greeted by The Cat. The Cat is a very peculiar cat, and does very peculiar things. In the course of my authoring of this passage, I have witnessed The Cat run in circles in an attempt to capture it's ever so elusive tail. After catching his own tail, The Cat realized that yes, it was in fact very much attached to his body, and his nervous system. So, The Cat then decided to start climbing up the back of my chair. Upon reaching the top, The Cat then decided that it would be an interesting challenge to attempt to run in circles and catch the ever so elusive tail on that narrow ledge that is the top of the back of the chair. The Cat failed. I suppose I should feel sympathjy for him, but I do not, because he pees in my closet.

After watching The Cat's peculiar actions, I am still bored. Then, loike a lightning bolt from heaven, I am smote with the answer.

Porn.

So, how do y'all spend those times when you have an unshakeable boredom?

I just browse through various websites listlessly when video games and spriting fail to sate my boredom.

Things I do when bored (in order):
Eat a sandwich.
Attempt to knock a chunk out of the pile of games I've obtained, yet not beaten yet;
Play with my dogs.
Take a nap with my dogs.
Pester my brother.
Chase cats from my lawn.
Tie a rope to my cieling fan, then tie the other end to some burger king toy.
Burn something.
Listen to a cd that I own for the 60th time, this time learning all it's songs by heart.
Come to the sudden realization that I'm a guy, and I'm listening to matchbox twenty.
Rock back in forth in the corner thinking of all the issues I've been given by living in a house ruled by the females.
Listen to Hanson.
Eat a sandwich.
Ask mother several questions that I've had burning in my head.
Forget everything that happened in the last few minutes.
Ask mother several questions that I've had burning in my head.
Clean the kitchen cuz mother says so.
Eat a sandwich.
Hum the entire zelda themesong.
Eat a sandwich.
Call Rob over.
Watch "The New Guy" movie with Rob.
Fast forward to the part where the main character's father gets hit in the eye with a flaming marshmellow. He makes a funny yelp.
Rewind and watch his incredibly goofy scream again.
Rewind and watch it in slow mo, and laugh at the really goofy facial expression he makes as he does it.
Rewind, Slow mo, and Zoom in on the face. At this point we're breaking down laughing, and can barely breathe.
Eat Sandwich (rob eats one too, freeloader!)

Well, lately I've always got programming or notes to do, so I'm stuck at the compy all day. Never really get bored, just sick of doing the homework. I'll come here and look around, get on MSN to talk to peeps (even if I sometimes can't think of things to say, yess, yess), look around for purty pictures, or other stuff I can do while still doing my compy homework.

Otherwise, I'd go for walks in the woods, draw a bit (I'd call it doodling, actually), or watch cartoons as well.

Also, two thumbs up for the story of boredom! Amusing.

Try opening your eyes, and then opening them again.

boredom is the monkey wrench that unscrews my brain and throws it at passing spaceships.
I play freelancer, the coolest spaceship related game ever.
and within as well as below the riddle lies the answer, however invisible it may be
